I bet Oscar, who is great at promoting his fighters, sat down with Ortiz and team and said "look, I love you little bro, but you are equivalent to a Namek and probably not even Piccolo just a regular Namek and your trying to face a Super Saiyan who is going to hurt you so please stop!! Look how far I took the limited Mungia until cashing out on a Canelo payday!! Please don't fight Ennis right now bro!!" Now I know Ortiz is a warrior who will take the fight but please believe Oscar knows best when it comes to his fighters.
It's interesting how everyone gives Ortiz credit for having a huge fan base simply because he's Mexican. He's never come close to Boots in ticket sales or gate. 3 divisions, no belt. Took two tuneups at 54, 5 fights total and still no belt. 50/50 would be a GIFT for him. His whole ****ck has been "we wanted to fight Boots but he didn't want to fight"...now that Boots is at the weight class and had one tuneup suddenly the Ortiz camp has every excuse in the book.
Oscar is annoying but he's no dummy when it comes to boxing. He knows what happens if the two fight, and he doesn't want to see it, just like he didn't want Ryan to fight Tank. He'll be damned if he lets it happen again. He has no other stars if Vergil gets torched (and Vergil isn't even a star). It's funny how Oscar can play boxing purist at times when it comes to sanctioning fees or lobbying for "the best to fight the best"....but when he has his own skin in the game, he's the same as everyone else.
And don't expect Vergil fans to be upset about this...they know what happens when he fights Boots, and they never wanted to see it either.
100% truth here!!
Most people at this point want to see Khan beat Canelo..Canelo is good, but not great like the GB machine will have us believe...Just like Chavez jr. had the red carpet rolled out for him even though he wasn't as good as they wanted us to think, so we couldn't wait for Sergio to knock him of his high horse like we want GGG or Khan to do to Canelo.....I'm sure everyone will love him again after Oscar, not Canelo himself as he is doing what he's supposed to, eats a slice of humble pie and stop the weight cheating....
The ref will stop it!! A ridiculous match up at this stage of both careers. Thurman is trying to move ahead and Rios is an opponent for the young lions coming. He should retire he has no chance at winning against any of the up & coming men.
Ray.
100%:boxing:
Andre Dirrell vs Carl Froch....Froch clearly loss (thats why he was on his knees praying while scorecards being read), regardless if people hated that Dirrell danced around last couple of rounds...Andre has a loss on his record for nothing and I see him as only one who can beat Ward..
Khan vs Peterson....Blatant robbery and yes he can probably beat Pac and Floyd right now!!
Canelo vs Lara.. Canelo should have gotten a draw at very best and thats only understandable by the grace of the boxing gods keeping a cash cow alive...Not that I want to see Lara again, but now I have to watch Canelo again!!
Lomachenko vs Salido....Some say if Loma was truly special he would have found a way to win, but lets be honest Salido cheated big time on the scales and was on his way to getting stopped in the last round..The underserved loss SLIGHTLY took away from his Rigo-like, unbeatable, supreme boxer-god status....
I could probably come up with more all day:boxing:
Khan does have a small point here and I personally believe he will compete more than Pac will...But no way in the world Floyd or boxing fans will pass on a Pac fight over Khan....Ortiz was even hailed by Arum and everyone else as a big young strong lefty who "Floyd would never get in the ring with".....Khan needs to fight one of his own boogymen, which is Brook or Thurman and win, and then the public will demand Floyd fight him....I'm a big time fan of Floyd and I feel he wants to avoid Khan, just like Khan is avoiding Keith and Kell, but with two fights left in his career and super-fight with Pac looming, who cares as plenty of legends take a soft, almost garunteed win for their last fight or else get beat out of the sport to someone undeserving...
If Floyd misses the HOF for "ducking" Pac, that must means Pac won't even be considered for nomination..Just as people may look back at Floyd and question him not fighting Pac, just as many people will acknowledge Pac's false accomplishments and carefully guided career..
Devon did quit against Bradley even though he was head-butted repeatedly and also Shawn Porter is really a middleweight who can still make WW that's why he was so strong against Devon. Somehow I think Khan will give Floyd hell if they fight, I got Floyd giving Devon hell if they fight, and I got Devon giving Khan hell when they fight!!
I want Wilder to win, only because Wilder is big enough to beat Wlad...Unfortunately I think Bermane is a better fighter and might beat Wilder but I think Stiverne is too short to beat Wlad!!
Broner actually started off following Chavez jr.'s steps, as in beating bums in weight classes you're too big to be in....But he could never really follow Chavez because he has no last name to live off and he's actually calling top dogs while they avoid him instead of vice vesa:poke:
It's pretty difficult to guess a top 10, so let's settle for 6.
Here it goes from me;
1. GGG
2. Canelo
3. Mikey Garcia
4. Andre Ward
5. Timothy Bradley
6. Keith Thurman
Remove Canelo and Garcia, add Crawford and Lomachenko and i'm with you..
Any fight against someone credible will do. In my opinion Pac has been kept out of the shark tank for years, fighting sup-par fighters while waiting for a Floyd fight...Any of the top ranked guys like Broner, Garcia, Crawford, Lucas Thurman, Maidana ect...Im excited for any Pac fight IF it's a real challenge...
I don't think Ward fights are boring. I think Froch needs to say this to justify his blatant ducking of a second arse whipping from Ward but I feel he's right about DeGale's chance at beating either of the two:boxing:
He beat all the champions at welterweight since 2010, Mosley was the WBA champion and Floyd was the challenger, Ortiz was the WBC champion and Floyd was the challenger, Cotto was the champ and Floyd was the challenger, Guerrero was a champ like Floyd at the time, Canelo was the champ and Floyd was the challenger, Maidana was the WBA champion and Pacquiao was the WBO champion, who else could he have fought in the last 5 years? if he would've fought Alexander instead of Guerrero people would be like oh he ducked Guerrero, and same applies for all other opponents.
Mosley KOs Margarito in 2009 Floyd fights Mosley and Pacquiao fights Margarito in 2010 and Pacquiao gets more credit even though he fought the loser, Margarito beats and cuts up Cotto Pacquiao fights shot Cotto and nobody says sh1t about fighting Margarito who actually won the fight and was also promoted by Arum, Mike Alvarado beats Brandon Rios, Pacquiao fights Rios instead of Alvarado, Joshua Clottey loses to Cotto, Pacquiao fights him fresh off the loss, and the list of CHERRY PICKED SHOT opponents goes on and on and ON, hell it goes back to 2005, Morales gets shut out by Zahir Raheem, Pacquiao fights Morales and nobody even mentions Zahir Raheem as a potential opponent and nobody in the media or none of the fans calls Pacquiao out on the BS, Floyd Mayweather would NEVER get away with fighting this crappy level of opposition!
100%...I had to explain this exact pattern to some friends the other day! The only reason anybody would be disappointed in the Floyd-Pac fight is if they believed Pac was really great in the first place and if you actually followed his career you would know he's never really been tested...
He will rise to the level of his competition. It happens in anything....
Sometimes you get in with people who aren't on your level and you box/play at their level...
You will see an elite level Andre Ward come fight night....
100%:boxing:
Porter is the same fighter...He never was that great to begin with..He's a middleweight who skrinks down to welter and mauls his opponents...THE fight to make is Thurman vs Brook imo but I can respect and enjoy the top guys fighting each other anyway it is..
I think lots of fights have a kind of predetermined, or more so desired outcome....its how robberies are allowed and yes you can see it coming a mile away, but I believe most of us would rather see Garcia vs Thurman over Guerrero
Canelo IS a middleweight who just doesn't fight at middleweight...No different than Chavez jr who's truly a light heavy fighting at super middle...Can't do nothing but respect Nelo for asking for toughest fights available, but when he fights a real middleweight, he won't have any size or power advantages and he isn't some skilled boxer who can adjust to different styles so I think it's in his best interest stay where he is.
I honestly don't know because any entertaining/superstar fighter in any class makes you want to watch...Heavyweight boxing has been dead for some time but boxing has flourished because of decent amount of top tier small guys...that being said, you might be right because I haven't been so excited for a fight as I am for Wilder/Stiverne in a while. If they would stack the undercard, i would have actually paid for this fight so you're probably right..I think Stiverne is better also, but Wilder is much better for the division:boxing:
Don't know if triple G is so beloved by Mexicans...I think his team is pandering to Mexican in order to have a large fan base.... Martinez absolutely was crippled and on the decline when Cotto fight him but I guess most people did still think Sergio would win so you can't knock Miguel.... Canelo and Cotto is a great 50/50 fight, and GGG probably beat both of them, simply because he is bigger and stronger and his team acting like he isn't is just away to keep running from Andre Ward...
Canelo will certainly reach HOF status eventually, even if for nothing else but because they will want him to be..As young as he is, he's already closing in on 50 fights, but hardcore fans from the present, much like hardcore fans from the Chavez sr. era, will know that his great record was padded with nobodies or badly faded former big names, always cheated the scales, and controversy surrounded the tough fights..Still very respectable for demanding the fights we all thought he was afraid to take and he's Mexico's biggest star so he will definitly reach HOF, just with an asterik beside his name..
of course it would. Anyone that says it wouldn't is still trying to run with the ward isn't a draw excuse because they don't want little g to lose.

without question. Anyone denying it is delusional.
