He beat Cotto, Lara, Trout, Angulo, Kirkland, Mosley and obviously the names are lacking so far at 25 years old but what he has accomplished, titilist in two weight classes, Ring champ in two weight classes. He has his biggest roadblock with Golovkin in 2016 hopefully after a testing the waters fight against a true MW like Lee or Lemiuex, then GGG. But I can't see how if he beats GGG, anyone other than Lara poses any threat to him.
I think the only way they're comparable is that they are Mexican. The difference between Canelo and Vargas styles are like the Sahara Desert and Antarctica. I see Canelo's future losses all being decisions where he was outboxed. I doubt he'll ever actually get ruined or knocked out unless he really bites off more than he could chew, like fighting Kovalev at 175. Golovkin is not an overly difficult task for the future, right now it is. But if K2 and GBP come to an agreement to let Canelo fight one MW first, and we can see how Canelo looks against that MW, then we can gauge better and make better predictions. Right now, Cotto is a very good JMW win, not a MW win.
I didn't say they're comoarable in style.
I said his career may end up going the Fernando Varags route I.e Very talented young prospect with a solid resume for a young fighter and seemingly good potential however burns out fast and doesn't reach his expected potential.
I'd also expect a Golovkin fight to possibly do a lot of damage to Canelo's career ala Tito-Vargas.
Nothing to do with their styles.
Possible.
But I think he'll end up more like Fernando Vargas.
Especially if the Golovkin fight does happen.

I can't stand when they talk about him beating up bums. lol Did you see what Saul Rodriguez did to Najera? He would destroy Verdejo if they fought tomorrow but Verdejo don't want none.
No I haven't. I'll have to check it out.
Nah. Threads like this do nothing but create hate for the kid. Are these guys hall of famers? Just a random list of dudes no one talks about.
Paul Williams
Zab Judah
Antonio Margarito
Cory Spinks
Vernon Forrest
Winky Wright
Fernando Vargas
Ike Quartey
Jermaine Taylor
Kelly Pavlik
Meldrick Taylor
All those guys listed have resumes in the same ballpark (higher or lower) and should be in if Canelo as of today gets in.

Complex confirmed...too simple...
Watch out for the Verdejo **** storm after he wins a decent fight. I like Verdejo but he's going to be put on a pedestal real quick.

Yeah, its really pathetic. You think they would have more honor. Last guy they have left is Rocky Martinez. :lol1: I guess Pedraza who got that gift decision VS Cherry but you don't hear them talking about that

It's a consistent thing with Canelo. He's got his own weight class for crying out loud. He's much more confident in his ability to cut weight then his ability to beat a guy his own size. Some Mexican.
Cotto wasn't fighting at full MW either. Fair game. Cotto got outboxed after many said Cotto would be the one doing the outboxing.

Cotto really has some confidence in himself beating up handicapped fighters for not 1 but 2 of his world titles! :haha:
They're doing the same thing post Margarito 1. Make excuses and after, they're going to wait for anything suspicious with Alvarez to fully discredit the win.

lol you're the one posting bullsh1t? "talent vaccum" yada yada, too bad there's no real talent coming from PR, it must make you suffer.
complex superiority...
Lololol. Nope. 168 - 154 = 14 lbs. That's the difference between two weight classes and the probably difference in fight night weight between Canelo and Cotto.
lol no way he was two weight classes bigger they're the same height man  You guys are making excuses on the daily. No puerto rican fighter can ever lose fairly huh? There was always something to their disadvantage :lol1:
So canelo weighed in at 180 :pat: He cut 25 pounds? You guys reach hard.

Fine. Call it 15. Doesn't change the fact that Canelo is naturally two weight classes above Cotto and still couldn't hurt him.
