At 25 years old, is Canelo Alvarez already a borderline future Hall of Famer?

I think the only way they're comparable is that they are Mexican. The difference between Canelo and Vargas styles are like the Sahara Desert and Antarctica. I see Canelo's future losses all being decisions where he was outboxed. I doubt he'll ever actually get ruined or knocked out unless he really bites off more than he could chew, like fighting Kovalev at 175. Golovkin is not an overly difficult task for the future, right now it is. But if K2 and GBP come to an agreement to let Canelo fight one MW first, and we can see how Canelo looks against that MW, then we can gauge better and make better predictions. Right now, Cotto is a very good JMW win, not a MW win. I didn't say they're comoarable in style. I said his career may end up going the Fernando Varags route I.e Very talented young prospect with a solid resume for a young fighter and seemingly good potential however burns out fast and doesn't reach his expected potential. I'd also expect a Golovkin fight to possibly do a lot of damage to Canelo's career ala Tito-Vargas. Nothing to do with their styles.
