Props to the thread - Darchinian unifies the Flyweight titles as the underdog for the first time in 7 years, in KO style no less, and no-one here cares. They'd rather discuss PBF's WWE performance.
Well done Vic for proving his critics wrong :boxing:
Watch the fight carefully, learn the rules.
On the belt is fine. Below the belt is not.
It hit on the belt, and put Hatton down (but did not overly hurt him). It is a knockdown.
I actually think if it was counted as it shoudl have been, Tszyu would have been strengthened a lot by it. He said afterwards that he didnt come out in the 12th because he was behind on the cards. With this knockdown, he might have given himself a chance.
This is taking nothing away from the win - Hatton definetaly derserved it, the aging Tszyu did not.
IMO he just looked too sluggish and wasnt busy enough.
When someone is always pushing forward, you have to stick a hard jab into the face. Tszyu used to do this well, however it was nowhere to be seen against Hatton.
Kostya Tszyu - He interviews so well, he is the most respectful boxer I have heard speak. This is a true hero and role model that kids can look up to and respect. In the ring, I started to love him because of the straight right, but what really hooked me was his body shots. I think body shots are a bit of a dying art and love watching Tszyu work the body.
Vic Darchinian - Not sure if many have heard of this young up and comer, but he has one of the coolest styles I have seen - he literally slinks around the ring, stalking his opponent, and boom! This boy throws a bomb that puts people on the canvas full stop. I wish him all the best!
tszyu will win by k.o hatton is good but he has not fought anyone near the level of tszyu hatton has fought weak opposition like most european fighters will not fight outside of europe tszyu should of never acepted fighting hatton in manchester he is the champ he should of made hatton go to the land down under or to the states . either way hatton will get koed in front of his home crowd
I thought your way at first, but now I disagree. What would making Hatton come to Australia have achieved? Tszyu gets home crowd advantage and gets a lot less money. On the flip side, he could go over there, get more money, give up the crowd advantage, but as you say, if he's fighting someone who hasnt left his backyard to fight quality opposition, that shouldnt be a factor.
Plus it has the added sting if he gets the victory, that all Hattons fans have to watch him fall. Its a brave move, I like it, I wish him all the best.
Can someone *please* tell me where the gallery is, I cant find the link anywhere! If someone PM me the link or give me a heads up I'll give donate a lot of points your way! :)
Spinks is a decent fighter but when you start talking about undisputed champs Corey Spinks becomes a bum.
Bahaha! This cracked me up.
Oh yeah, talk is cheap - lets see the fights Zab. There's nothing worse than a shadow champ who hides behind his belts and doesnt defend them.
Well, Ricky destroyed Vince Phillips but Tszyu lost to Phillips. I suggest you check out Ricky's resume again, he doesn't fight all B-level fighters at all! There are many very good fighters he has beaten.
Tszyu also beat Phillips in a rematch. He's also stated that the 35 year old Tszyu would kill the 25 year old Tszyu, and feels he is better than he ever was now. I guess its just up to him to prove it to us :D
Anyone predicting an easy night for Tsyzu is crazy. I think this fight will depend ontwo things.
1. In a long hard fight will Tsyzu`s age show up
As I said in another thread, Tzsyu's sparring partner Sam Soliman declared Kostya to have incredible fitness throughout all 12 rounds - so I dont expect his age to be a factor - this guy trains his heart out, and should be in tip top condition.
Should be a great one though, I'm so pumped for this!
Interesting read, thanks dude. I am obviously a Kostya fan, but I am just so excited about this fight. I have no doubt that Hatton knows this is his best shot at glory - if he loses, where can he go? But if he wins... its an all or nothing for him so it should make for a great match - not just in the skills but in the context of the fighters careers. Good luck to both men.
There's a difference between going 12 rounds at Tszyu's pace and 12 rounds at Hatton's. KT's power aside, whoever controls the pace of the fight probably wins it.
Well they didn't specify what the 'pace' of the rounds was - Tszyu knows that Ricky will come out banging so I doubt he'd be training 12 rounds of slow ass boxing.
If he lasts past the first 6, he's got a great shot at winning. Lasting past 6 is the biggest challenge facing him right now.
Actually according to Sam Solimon, Tzsyu is amazingly fit in the second half of the fight - he said he would be worried about going the distance because he can just keep bombing for 12 rounds straight!
If I could choose how this fight goes:
Hatton comes out bombing, Tszyu shows his calm and settles in, showing off some great boxing skills (which he has dont forget!).
Hatton is a little shaken but keeps bombing and pressuring Tszyu, while Kostya continues to outbox him.
While he could have won on points, late in the 8th Tszyu rocks Hatton and puts him down for the count.
I'll be at my local with a beer cheering that on.
:D
Vaughn "Shake and Bake" Bean. Thats just retarded.
BAHAHA! I've never heard that one - its fantastic, I love it!
Best.Name.Evar!
BTW I am a fan of Tszyu and an Australian - but me and many of us *hate* the name 'Thunder from Downunder' - it is so corny! Grr! Whenever anyone is famous from Australia they immediately get that stupid name, it makes us cringe..
Hey did you hear that Andre Ward changed his nickname? Thank god ATF fighter was terrible, he is now the golden warrior. Its a little corny but its better than ATF whatever.LOL
Oh no way! I like good corny nicknames like ATF - but golden warrior is just bad corny
Yeah I wish Floyd would call Arum's bluff in a way, take the shit money, do what Judah did.
I like what Judah did - it took balls. And it paid off in a big fucking way. Sometimes its just cool to say 'fuck you' to c*nt promoters, beat up their pussy-whipped fighter and move on to bigger and better things.

Its kinda looks like a different person. :D
LOL!
When you compare the pic of Tszyu and Hatton, Hatton looks like a washed up mechanic or something, Tszyu looks professional.
Woah Hatton does a Skeletor on the scales! He looks like an evil white boy in this pic.
if any or all of those don't work for anybody, it's because you may need to be logged on to his site to see them...in any case, just trust me, tszyu is a fucking butterball within 2-3 weeks following a fight....every time
LOL, I dont know why I found this funny as (re: term butterball).
I've seen footage of KT training and he is a determined machine. I guess afterwards he just pigs out lol.

"Let me introduce you - Zab, this is my fist"
http://www.cyberboxingzone.com/boxingchronicle/images2_judahdown.jpg
"Yo Nady, come chicken dance man its fun!"
:boxing:
I personally want Zab to get the rematch after Tszyu beats Hatton. I have all the confidence in the world that Zab stops Tszyu in the rematch. That first one was stopped way too early.
Note to Boxing Fans: Fighters cannot continue when they are doing the chicken dance! Seriously, sure 10-15 seconds after he fell over and stopped dancing, he might have been 'ok' - this is the same for most fight stoppages. But for that time period, would you have your boxer stand in front of a punching monster? That is when you get KTFO again and end up with brain damage. Of course the fight should have been stopped.
Yet I am interested in the rematch too, I think Zab was a little cocky coming in, but you know he would be more careful this time.
Edit: I agree with Elveiel - the one with the best chance is Hatton - merely because he is fighting Tszyu. Its a shame, but networks have prevented the chance of Tszyu/Mayweather.
You're a fucking idiot. Sorry but you obviously need to get real. Okay explain to me how Mayweather has not stepped up to the competition.
I think he is talking about recent times - people have been complaining in the last 6-12 months PBF hasnt fought any big people. Just an observation.
Keep in mind, so I don't have to keep saying it, Floyd is UNDEFEATED. Gatti is NOT.
Being undefeated doesnt mean you have stepped up the competition - if anything, you should keep fighting and searching for the best until you lose. That is of course in a perfect sport. But this is nitpicking and kind of OT.
I'm sad to see this fight not happen too - I have only got into boxing in the last year and havent even seen much of PBF - heard alot from his fans tho :)
And if there's anyone of the two that should be more nervous it should be Tszyu, he's the champ who's a 5:1 favorite.
Also might be a reason Tszyu didnt mind fighting in England, how much more preassure if he was fighting in front of his home crowd facing a dangerous young opponent, and being a 5:1 favorite...
I think you overestimate the pressure there is in being favourite. Believe me, with thousands of Aussies cheering Tszyu on, he would hardly be nervous fighting out of Australia. That kind of adrenalin is worth a lot. That's why Tszyu is taking it to Hatton - he wants to challenge himself and take on all comers.
That, and the money :)
tszyu is the most calmest fighter iv'e ever seen. he's never shown that he gets ruffled fighting away from home. altho i must say no boxer should ever fight in puerto rico or germany.
Hehe, Tszyu is very calm, I guess because of his experience. I remember seeing him take a shot from Zab in Round 1 and thinking 'Oh shit!' but even though Zab wanted to go for the kill and the crowd was going apeshit, he just worked through it like a pro.
And f*ck fighting in Germany.
LOL! ALl the Hatton fans come out of the woodwork.
I picked Tszyu to win - I admit it.
The fight was very ugly and Tszyu looked well past it.
Props to Hatton. Tszyu will retire a good champion, he just aged like everyone does I guess.
I AGREE KT WILL BRUTALIZE HATTON LIKE I SAID B4 THIS WILL NOT GO PAST 5 ROUNDS IF IT DOES I WILL SHAVE MY PUBES
LOL, dude you should shave them anyways - chicks dig it.
Even though he was a bit hurt and down on the cards, he still landed some shots on Hatton. I still think he should have fought it out, even just holding on, to go the distance. And who knows, he could of got lucky and socked Hattons ass. Or he could have been put down, either way, unless you have a valid injury quitting is not good enough.
I agree this fight was dog ugly and shit.
Tszyu looked geriatric and Hatton with had a lot of 'flashy' punches that didnt hit. Add to that low blows and holding and I agree this fight was a major disappointment.
