That was strictly business I'm sure, since Quintana has been inactive, I'm sure Team Williams coughed up some good money to get some good work out of Quintana to show that tricky southpaw style in sparring.
I doubt they're friends tho, or even less, not willing to fight each other.
Maybe. But I actually heard, they get on and respect one another. I just don't think they would be in a rush to fight each other, espcailly since there just been helping each other with sparring and they have fought twice before.
I belive the weight played a big part. The cut back down to 175lb, was just a incredible struggle for Roy. Especailly when he didn't nearly any fat on him at HW.
Muscle is so much harder to cut than fat. Roy's body had been completey zapped. He was never the same fighter after the Ruiz fight.
Credit to Tarver, but I always thought he certainly got Roy Jones Jr at the right time.
I was picking Alexander before the Kotenlink fight and am still picking him after the Kotenlink fight. Maybe am wrong, but I feel Devon's style, speed, & skills will be enough to beat Bradley.
Yes of course, these are the type of fights boxing needs. Two unbeaten fighters in there prime going at it. These are the type of fights fans want to see.
Or would you prefer Devon & Tim to just defend there ABC title's against there mandatory opponents in fights you know for the most part there gonna win and just protect ther unbeaten fighting safe fights?
Carlos Monzon was a chain smoker, and he had incredible stamina. I've aslo read he would smoke on his run to relieve the tedium of roadwork. Which is pretty amazing.
With those standards how many good heavies did Larry Holmes beat?
He beat better Heavyweights than Wladamir thats for certain.
His wins over Ken Norton, Earnie Shavers x2, Gerry Cooney, Tim Witherspoon, Terver Berbick, Carl Williams & unbeaten Ray Mercer, surpass Wladamir's by a fair bit I'd say.
wouldn't be competitive. Ward gets blown out brutally.
Your joking right?
Ward was as tough as old boots and very durable. This fight could only be a slugfest and it's a fact both men would know they have been in a fight afterwards.
After seeing Khan drop Maidana with a body shot, I wonder how Maidana would hold up to Ward's crippling body punchers?
Hasn't Zab trained with him in the past? I could have sworn they used to spar when Zab was younger.
Whiatker put Zab to sleep in a sparring session, which Zab has admitted in the past.
I'd take Leonard here. Whitaker although still a world class operator, wasn't at his best at 147lb, were it was Leonard's prime weight.
Whitaker may be able to cause Ray problems and have his moments, but Ray's offence, size, & strength would have him walk away with the W.
Am pretty sure he's made a good buck, that is unless he has spent alot of it.
But he has had some big money fights. Which included 2 HBO PPV fights, 2 Top Rank PPV fights, and a few title defences on HBO. He has always been a good attendence drawer aswell especailly at the Boardwalk Hall.
Winky sounds very bitter. He shound't complain to much, he eventually got tons of big fights and made millions out of the game. Add to that fact that he will evetually get into the IBHOF and be considered one of the stand out fighters of the last 10 years.
To be honest I can see why HBO rejected him for Martinez. Winky has been out of the ring nearly 2 years now, & last win was 4 years ago. And he's coming of a battering from a Williams, who Martinez KO'd. The fight dosen't make sense.
He should of fought EBU Champion Matthew Macklin last year when he had the chance.
Haye should win this farily easily. Of course Audley has a punchers chance, but other than his chances are slim to none.
In his last fight, he struggled greatly with journyman Michael Sprott, and was down on all cards heading into the 12th, before knocking out a tired Sprott, and in Dec 2008 Audley was outpointed by unskilled but tough Irish cabbie Martin Rogan over 12.
He has talked alot over the last few weeks, but it's just hot air. We seen how much Shannon Briggs & Kevin Johnson talked heading into the Vitali fight, only to get dominated in the ring.
It's a different story when in the ring.
