Manny has beaten a roster of international talents from Britain (Hatton), Mexico (too many to mention), Kazakshtan (Yeshmagabetov), Thailand (too many), Colombia (Julio), Dominican Republic (Sanchez), South Africa (Lehdwaba), North Korea (Senrima), Australia (Hussein), South Korea (Chae) and Japan (Terao).
Next stop is Miguel Cotto (Puerto Rico) and Mayweather (US).
If he gets past these two, damn the United Nations might need to step in !!! :)
But but.. his afraid to fight black dudes according to some nuthuggers ..
you guys are insane if you think that he beats Floyd. If you bet on him then you will go broke. Not only will he lose but he will look like a clown in the process. I use to think that Pac had grown as an all around fighter but he hasnt. He's still basically the same guy and thats why JMM will always give him hell. No way he kills JMM at 140 like people think. He's still pretty sloppy and doesnt have great fundementals. He has good footwork when it comes to doing what he wants to do but his footwork is horrible if you make him do something else. Hatton just played right into his hands. People think that he's so different from the guy that fought JMM but look at who he's fought. He fought Diaz, Oscar, and Hatton. 3 guys with horrible skills at this stage of there career who all were coming right at him with no D.
Its a completely different fight with Floyd. It would be exactly like Pac fighting JMM except Floyd's bigger, stonger, faster, has a much better defense, is taller, and even though the haterz dont want to beleive it, he's actually smarter and is a better pure boxer then JMM. Trust me, Im not a hater. I actually was worried that Pac may give him hell. I thought because Pac was a Southpaw and all this that he may give Floyd real trouble. Ive always said that the only way to beat Floyd is to either be so much bigger then him that all he can do is pot shot or you have to be a Southpaw who catches him. I thought Pac's combo of size, speed, power, and Southpaw style may give Floyd serious trouble. I saw Zab land a few shots early until Floyd figured him out and I saw Chop catch him and land a few shots but guess what? Zab, Chop, and Mitchell are all way way way better pure boxers then Pac. I thought he had grown but he hasnt. Floyd would eat him up and it would be easy. People are insane when they say that Floyd wont want the fight. I bet he wants that fight more then anything because he knows that he will dominate him and I think Roach is even worried about it.
Seriously though, I think not only does Floyd win but he wins easily and makes Pac look like a straight amature. It would be like all the JMM highlights against Pac but Floyd will be doing it non stop all fight because his D is superior to JMM and he's faster and stronger. He'll outclass Pac so bad and then stop him. This will be a mega event and its going to end by a shocking one sided KO with Pac looking like he wasnt even close to being in Floyd's league. He's still sloppy, off balance, and basic with his punches. Theyre so basic and if you think that stuff that works on David Diaz, Hatton, and a zombied Oscar will work on Floyd then you are in for the shock of your life. He'll beat Pac so bad that it will make him darn near legendary in the mainstream. As good as I think that Floyd is, the Pac fight will make him look even better because of there styles and skill level
Damn.. You got that by watching Pac beat up Hatton. Or it could also mean that Hatton is so wide open that Pac does not have to do anything special. You said that hatton is a different fighter than Hatton. Could it also mean that Roach "might" employ a different gameplan against Floyd? Basically Pac had the Physical ability to mach floyd.I aint saying Pac will beat floyd (I have floyd by UD) butim just saying you cant guage the match by watching his match against hatton.
Mayweather's win against Diego > Cotto's win against Mosley..
one is a one sided domination of a prime undefeated borderline HOF the other one is a disputable win over a past prime HOF borderline ATG
Fight has an Oscar delahoya win written over it. It was a bad decision on his part to run away at the latter rounds. Still got to give it to the Golden boy though.
I would also add the right-hook is top-notch now. He is also bigger than before and seemingly stronger, more powerful, and possibly faster which is crazy considering he has been moving up in weight. His stamina also seems to still be very good
I thought Floyd was slowing down when he was at 147 than his prior weights at 130-140. Plus the activity level inside the ring wasn't much either compared. He became more of a pot-shot artist.
And I've been saying that as well, same with JMM saying it: we don't know where Floyd is at right now.
People just keep thinking of what they last saw but everybody ages and inactivity is the worse thing for an elite athlete. Freddie Roach even pointed it out many times: You can't be a part time fighter and do well. You have to keep your fighter busy to be Good.
Fighters also start to pace themselves more as they get into their 30's and their legs don't seem quite the same as when they were at their best.
Then you have the Mental side to it: He did retire already and went into retirement with no joy for the sport. And now he comes back, why? Is it the Money troubles we are hearing about or is it that his legacy is at threat?
Not sure.
I say we wait and see.
This. Good post man..

HBO is not going to release the numbers because Arum requested that they didn't. The 850,000 is probably closer to the total numbers worldwide, not just domestically. Obviously, the fight did not do the 2 million that Arum claimed or they woudl have released the numbers. Also, the fight did not do as well as Mayweather/Hatton because Arum woudl definitely release the numbers. He could prove his "claim" that Pacquaio is the bigger draw and deserves the bigger purse against Mayweather. However, because of the numbers, the split in a Mayweather/Pacquaio fight will definitely be 60/40 in favor of Maywether.
lol.. I shouldnt have probably bothered.. But.. oh well:thinking:
newbie poster here .. :p :p
being a pac fan .. i dont see pac as unbeatable.. but he is an exciting fighter nontheless .. MAB could beat pac in a rematch .. but the question still stands.. Does MAB still want anythin to do with PAC?! We shall see... :boxing: :boxing:
