It was a combination of roids, and the fact Tarver had figured out Roy's style. The rooster ambush style of fighting doesn't work against the type of pressure Tarver applied.
Golovkin has pretty amazing balance and certainly the best offensive foot work. Rigo has the best defensive foot work, but mayweather used to be even better than Rigo.
Really guys? Golovkin has no chance? The most accurate puncher in the sport, who also has great output and tremendous power is somehow not a threat to Ward?
Add the option of ZERO. I voted 10 or less, mainly because there's no lesser option.
Zero percent chance you'll make it through highschool should be an option.
I don't blame him one bit, he has a great chance against Cotto, a good chance against Canelo, and only a slight chance against Golovkin. He should be stripped of his middle weight straps if he takes on Cotto and Canelo though.
Ward easily smothers, punches, and clinches GGG to a borefest UD.
that might be wards tactic, but Golovkin is stronger and hits like a hammer in the clinches, most people only clinch a few times with Golovkin before realizing he gets the better of it. Ward would need a better plan to win rounds.
Surprisingly enough, if you look at the rings top ten by weight class, there are a few more white fighters than black fighters when you total it all up. I always thought it would be the other way.

Who fights at 160 and hasn't fought a pro worth mentioning....vs a solidified champion at 168 who won a gold medal, who is ranked 2-3 p4p....who's fought everyone his division has... so yeah, there's that.
Ward is awesome, but he hasn't got a resume thats any more impressive than Calzaghe. Kessler, Froch, meh... Wards gold medal run was against WAY easier competition than GGG's.
GGG is more accurate, he hits harder, throws more, has longer reach, and has a better chin.
Ward has a lot of things going for him also, but not enough to say GGG has a Zero % chance, that is just retard speak.
people are saying that ward would hold & grab golovkin all night.........he wouldn't need to.
golovkin is too slow & doesn't move his head (stiff) ward would see everything coming & would knock golovkin on his butt with a few jabs..............
people are saying that ward doesn't ko guys but in this fight he would stop golovkin......golovkin is just overrated.
He would hold, Golovkin hits way harder, and is more accurate. Ward would try to to stiffle GGG's superior punch output. It would likely be Wards toughest fight.
I can't believe how stupid this forum is, Rigo has an amazing pedigree, he has beat p4p fighters, and Raymi hasn't faced even one ranked opponent.
Rigo could possibly make it to the 2nd round you know?
Just kidding, Raymi TKO1!
What exactly has Golovkin done as a professional?
Knocked out 14 straight and sent everyone in the middleweight division into hiding. He is the sports most accurate puncher, and does this with great volume and power which is unheard of.
GL: In your opinion who wins a fight between Gennady Golovkin and Sergio Martinez?
Danny Jacobs: "Believe it or not I like Martinez in that one. Even though Gennady looked impressive, well I wouldn't say impressive, I didn't see anything special. I see flaws and I guess that's just coming from a fighters perspective. I saw a lot of things that a fighter such as Sergio could expose him on with his movement and speed."
Andy Lee: “I’d love to see him fight Ward because it would be a contest of boxers and we’d see who would out-skill the other, but I think he would have a lesser chance against Froch because Froch is so powerful and if he stood in front of Froch he might be in danger of getting knocked out by the heavier guy.”

Speculation from people that have never sparred or fought GGG is much less interesting, do you have any qoutes from people that have traded shots with the GGG?
I have a feeling Ward is going to struggle big time with this kid. Not sure why, maybe its the ring rust and Ewin's power + 5" reach advantage.
I've always thought Ward was the best, but its not by much.
Did Curtis's high guard save him? No it did not, he lost every round, landed only 12 punches/rd. How could one surmise that a turtle shell gaurd would be a good strategy against a guy that can punch constantly from every angle with one shot stopping power?
The only style that might beat GGG is a mugger. Bhop could possibly nuetralize his offense and make him look bad.
I wasn't overly impressed with Golovkin, but he did win every round. The people I watched the fight with hadn't heard of Golovkin and they were amazed by him.
I think its a case of having unrealistic expectations of him destroying guys in a round or two without getting hit. People that have more realistic expectations were more impressed.
I'm not sure Ward would beat Golovkin anymore. Guys that have fought/sparred both favor GGG to win the fight. Seems crazy, but I've got to imagine they have a much better opinion of the matter than we keyboard warriors do...
I'm no keyboard warrior or internet tough guy...but Ward would wipe the ring Gennady, that I do know...
Why are guys that have shared the ring with both fighters saying the opposite then? Why should I listen to you and not a person that has traded punches with both?
Golovkin wins the fight with his greater reach and power. Ward won't go down easy, and has to resort to bhop mugging style. Nobody can take 12 rnd from GGG, you have to stop him, and ward can't.
GGG didn't get hit enough for us to know how tough his chin is. I saw less than a dozen hard shots land on GGG. A good chin test needs to be a little more thorough than what Stevens was able to connect with.
From what we saw, there is no evidence that his chin is weak, but it wasn't like he was taking loads of hard shots.
