Dibella talking about Martinez vs. Golovkin. Says Martinez is after money and PPV fights and a fight with Golovkin will have to wait until Sergio gets that $$$$$.
where is the outrage?
come on, lets treat these guys the same way we treat floyd and manny.
btw, i actually agree with this plan if i was sergio.
Na, no need for outrage cuz he doesn't even get anything close to the same pay as those two. What's Sergio's biggest purse??? Manny has made $25 million a few times and Floyd is now making $40 a fight. Sergio deserves to get paid bro.
Funny, I remember him ripping Arum after Cotto vs Mayorga for doing the same thing he's doing with Martinez now.
Comparing Martinez vs. Cotto/Canelo to Cotto/Mayorga? really?
We expect this type of talk from the promoter, but Martinez knows better. He knows that as long as 3G remains relevant, he'll have to confront him in the ring. GGG is being built up right now and everything is going smooth, just keep winning and the Martinez fight will happen. Martinez has the title that really matters, the lineal belt. When it comes to negotiating time, HBO and K2 have to make Martinez a phenomenal offer. GGG is the future of the HBO boxing, so they need to start speaking with their wallet. They've been spoiled this past year with 3G's busy schedule and relatively low salary.
Maybe HBO should put Martinez and 3G on the same card, start building this match-up. Cotto/Martinez as the main event with GGG vs. Murray/Barker/Chavez/Lee/Rubio as the co-main.
im sorry this is sum bullsh1t...so he wants to fight a blown up ww then a 154 fighter..before he is MAYBE willing to fight the #1 contender at 160?
:lol1: EXACTLY!!!....this is crazy!!
On one hand I can understand Dibella but then the bigger picture makes him sound like he's part of the crowd who's counting his fighter out!!
Apparently any fighter and/or their promoter can say, "I won't fight whatever dangerous contender the fans want to see because I want money fights," and people will be okay with it.
He wants these fights, but when he doesn't get them Sergio will end up fighting another nobody instead of Golovkin, and very few will call him out on it. That's been the pattern for the last three years, anyway.
DiBella: "F*ck (insert name here) I'm looking for money fights. (insert name here) isn't a draw.
Fights Darren Barker and Matthew Macklin.
Sergio is happy fighting Cotto or Canelo? Why? Aren't both of them 154lbs?Isn't he the Middleweight Champ? Isn't GGG a Middleweight Champ?
Sergio better be carefull that Cotto or Canelo don't run after him and catch him. Does he want the junior division guys to move up to 160?
Why theres a perfectly healthy 160 waiting!!!
If anyone argues that this Sergio fellow isn't ducking GGG you really need some help!
Sergio's biggest win was against a welterweight years ago, and his biggest loss was too! Since then he's done nothing but cherrypicked and his last opponent beat him and got screwed in his backyard!
Sergio needs to get ready for the B-movie career he wants and just retire because he really has nothing to offer anymore. He didn't have much to begin with. Ray
One word -- money. Dibella explained that... money.
GGG deserves the fight, but I understand Dibella's stance business wise.
Lmao! U mad bro? This puto dibella has sand in his vagina. Reason Sergio isn't on hbo's pound for pound list is cause he got a gift decision against Murray...and now he wants to put his fighter in against two jr middleweights? Not a good look for the "lineal" champ. GGG ****s on Sergio easily.

He spent his 20s and most of his 30s trying to land money fights in order to live a happy 40s-70s.
Why that **** would he ruin this by taking on a challenge such as GGG? He likely has 1-2 more fights in him. He's will not and should not go by what GGG fanboys say.
Sergio deserves the money. He's cashing out as he should. GGG should worry about building his star like Sergio did: the hard way.
This is how boxing works. You earn the big money fights and then you squeeze them or you'll end up like Mosley fighting in your 40s in Yucatan.
The funny thing is that Sergio was in GG's position, getting the support from fans, wanting to see him get the big money fights, saying he deserves a few pay days before he retires. Martinez fights the dangerous fights, Pavlik, Williams, Dzinzuruk (unknown, low pay, and not the fight Martinez wanted), followed by some gimme fights that turned out tougher than expected, Barker, Macklin, Murray. Now Martinez's past and proven record, as well as his age and position at 160 is paying off, guys aren't afraid to fight him anymore cause he's old. Now these dickriders want to call him a ducker and want to see him take a step backwards and leave big money on the table for peanuts.

US Dirk Killer read this...
And thought "Sh-t, this guy think he got a Master's or some sh-t?"
Well, simple arithmetic is an esoteric concept seldom comprehended, much less mastered. :ugh:
Yup^^ Exactly this lol. Now his fans have truly no voice or opinion on the subject, if your fighter is blatantly ducking Golovkin then you can't defend them. It's that simple.
Please bro.....you go find me a video, any phucking video that has Martinez saying he doesn't want a fight with Golovkin. You won't find one, maybe one that says the fight needs to build but never one that says he doesn't want the fight.
You keep taking a promoter's words as the words of the fighter they represent when it suits your agenda.
If martinez wants to fight canelo on PPV on showtime I would love to see GGG fight chavez jr. on a HBO PPV on the same night and see where the numbers fall.
I reckon triple G could be a bigger draw than martinez right now if matched in a tough fight.
If Golovkin is so important to HBO they need to make Martinez an offer he can't refuse. Even if it costs them a bit upfront if Golovkin is going to be a huge star for them they can make that up (and more) over the next few years.
Now they obviously want the Cotto fight to happen and there is more money/interest there than a Sergio-Golovkin fight. If Cotto happens to win do you think he is going to want to jump in with Golovkin and even if Sergio wins why would he be in a rush to face Golovkin since he would have just done HBO a solid they will reward him.
HBO really doesn't care about Golovkin being the man because he is drawing interest knocking out second and third rate fighters~
Are people really trying to argue that Sergio would make more money fighting Golovkin than Cotto or Canelo? :lol1::lol1::lol1:
Its ok to say "I'm a fan of the sport, I don't care about the business side, I just want to see the best fights". Cool. I'm in the same boat. I don't care about the business side but I don't blind myself to the facts either.
But trying to say GGG can draw the same or more in Gate Revenue and PPV upside as Cotto and Canelo is ridiculous.
Well read their posts, i'm accused of having a Master's degree for doing simple algebra. We aren't debating with the sharpest minds here.
PPL have no idea how PPV works in here do they?
Being a fatass on a saturday and tuning in to HBO for boxing does not equate to spending 60 bucks on a "hardcores only" match like Golovkin Martinez
