If anyone saw the Darchinyan vs Donaire fight this past weekend (I'm sure you did Googley since you only follow Armenians) than you saw what happens when a fighter breaks his jaw and the DR recommends the stoppage.
The ring doctor looked at the jaw for a few seconds (did not treat it for 5 minutes like they did for Abraham). The Dr says to the Ref "I recommended we stop the fight.". The Ref asks Donaire "Can you continue" and Donaire says "No". The ref without hesitation waves the fight off.
Why in the world under even much worse conditions would a ref ignore all of the above and listen to some schmuck in the audience and continue the fight. Oh yea, almost forgot, CAUSE IT WAS IN GERMANY!!!!!! Corrupt mother fuckers!
Are you actually mad at Germany the country or their boxing commission? I've never been there but you sure seem angry at them. Me personally, I've heard good things - poor germany.
Your insane, the padding in boxing gloves cause more long term damage to the human brain but when you get hit clean in the UFC or PRIDE you go down. And ground and pound is the purest form of beatin the shit outa someone in all of hand to hand combat sports. Boxing is just throwin arm's but if you don't got speed or power your useless in the sport. UFC and PRIDE bring out the deepest fighter in all men cause you can bring your entire set of instincs to the fight.
i don't even think we have to reply to that. its stupid enough and funny enough by itself.
wow
I'd say Hatton;s the most famous active boxer in the country, apart from Amir Khan, but is by no means a house hold name. Khan is known by every man, woman and child in the UK but Hatton is only really known to people that are into sport.
Amir Kahn is that well known by everybody? wow, had no idea.
a little off topic but everybody on this thread appears to be from the uk so i'll ask...How famous is hatton in england? By that i mean to the average person in england who doesn't follow boxing that closely or at all. Would the average person recognize his name and know that he is a boxer? I ask this because i heard on wednesday night fights that 6000 british fans are coming to the boston fight. This is quite impressive to me. i don't think there is any american fighter currently fighting (even mike tyson because of his current pathetic state, but maybe in the past)that could draw such an american following to attend an overseas fight. fighters just aren't the celebrities that they used to be. I'm curious if this is the case in England.
douche
so the americans are gloating about the 5 hour time difference, and the british are bragging because i guess one british fighter giving a beating (a god-awful one) to an american fighter represents the superiority of their country over another. it looks like british and american people are both total douche bags.
its weak but i dont think that its total garbage, i just think it appears that pathetic because there hasn't been one dominant fighter that has unified or could be considered undisputed yet
I think taylor is an awfully good fighter but hopkins would just be too much, but perhaps he could pull it off if he knew how to use his size advantage (no height advantage, taylor just appears to be larger in size overall)
I wouldn't say they don't matter at all but i would say that him losing the WBC belt isn't that big of a deal. However, Tarver does need to fight somebody soon or he will become a non-factor in the 175 lb division
yes i think a julio diaz fight would be very entertaining, juan would probably be the underdog however so maybe he wants to avoid that match in the immediate future
Ken Norton was by no means great but he also fought in one of the most difficult eras in boxing (Ali, Frazier, Foreman). He wasnt quite at their level even though he did manage to break Ali's jaw and eventually win in their first match that solidified him as a big name in boxing.
