i am working as a trainer, manager, and corner person -
it's not about money as i don't give a rats ass about ever
collecting a dime. Sometimes a fighter has other reasons
for wanting to be in the ring other than simply monetary.
My focus is Never about how much some fighter or promoter
etc. is making for a fight. I watch fights no matter what the
monetary or political drama is - that has nothing to do with
a boxers worth when it comes to how well they box. Can't
understand why people are so caught up on the money aspect.
Unless they are captivated by how some boxers seem to live
the high life for a time but usually that doesn't last as their
egos out run the money; and the high life falls away. I want
to see my boxer stay grounded and in reality. So yes i would
continue to watch boxing as the money aspect is not the end
all or be all in the sport.
If it's true it's a huge shame as Rigondeaux is a great boxer!!
I just find it sad that many people equate boxing with brawling
and they discount boxing that comprises more of the hit and
don't get hit philosophy. There are two sides to winning that
based on points and then the undisputed knockout.
A rematch with Maidana is the worst mistake Broner could make
as i doubt it will go any better the second time around.
At least this way he can claim to have been having a bad day.
In a rematch it will be clear that he is just way over matched
and for sure at that point he will never be the same.
:pat:
Don't feel one iota bad for him. He disrespected his opponent
and boxing with his antics in the ring then he got his a**
handed to him on a platter. He just got a reality check that
he isn't as big and bad as he wanted to think he was. As far
as the fans what can be said they demonstrated their total
disdain for his drama. He most assuredly didn't swagger out
like he swaggered in.
:boxing:
Brandon Rios indeed was a big moving punching bag. But that's ok he didn't
feel a thing. He had staying power but Pac out boxed him in every sense of
the word. Boxing is more than being able to take a punch and Rios was simply
out of his league. Since Rios loves getting punched and it's better than sex then
he must have really enjoyed this match.
Sorry but Rios is not very good at all, If anything it proved Pac has lost his killer instinct.
i see it more as *killer instinct* teenage fighter hormones
running wild. His style now is more mature and could result
in a longer boxing career. Styles can change as one navigates
their boxing career. Doesn't mean something was *lost* it's
just been replaced for a different option.
Hit and don't get hit. My fighter says it's pretty much the
staple style that is learned and held to by cubans. It works
and i don't know why some people have such a problem with
it. You have boxers and you have brawlers. Two different
fundamental styles then again there are boxers that can also
be brawlers if needed. I feel the hit and don't get hit is a great
method if you are fast and nimble enough to do it.
Cubans over all fight a well fought fight. They aren't predominantly brawlers, they are of the mentality of hit and don't get hit. Get in - do your punch and get out. Last fight Pac Man was fighting more like a Cuban. The way they fight will add years to their ability to remain in the ring versus having a very short career due to brawling and taking to many punches to the head.
Am currently starting to look for sparring partners for my Cuban boxer (welter weight) and good luck to them as he has a boxing style that hasn't been seen before. Am looking forward to the bouts at the Jai Alai Casino - i will be there with my boxer ringside. Come by and say hello.
Let's face it Rios is full of himself and still won't admit he
really got bested by Pac's skill. I feel a little sorry for him.
He is a brawler, more brawn than brains and unfortunately
his trainers and managers aren't doing him any favors. :boxing:
If it's true he suffered a stroke as well then his boxing career is
at an end. Am hoping he comes out of this and goes forward to
live a much healthy and full life.
It would definitely be a good match. Now that Pac has worked on his style
they would be going head to head in a boxing match. Would really like to
see this match as you have to respect both fighters but am definitely leaning
to a Pac win; then again you never know as there are so many variables
that come into play in each match. I like to see rematches as one fighter
can just be having a bad day, be out of rhythm etc. so let's get to the nitty
gritty reality of skill - versus hype and all the other factors.
