Manny Pacquiao returned to the win column for the first time in more than two years, but the jury is still out on whether or not he can ever return to past form and acclaim.
Things went as advertised for the Filipino superstar, who dished out 12 rounds of punishment against a willing opponent in Brandon Rios. The end result was a landslide unanimous decision win in their HBO PPV headliner Saturday evening in Macau, China (Sunday afternoon local time).
Scores were 120-108, 119-109 and 118-110 in favor of Pacquiao. No knockdowns were scored, though certainly not for a lack of trying. Click Here To Read More]

Name calling doesn't change the truth. WHy didn't you post what you did when you red k'd me-that it wasn't a big enough cut for manny thats why he didn't take the deal.
If a guy wants to make less to take easy fight, hold him accountable, not the posters that point this out.
it was a crap fight. rios didnt do fcuk all and that made it rather boring to watch.
so the fight was boring but it was Rios fault for not doing anything. HMMM that doesn't sound like you at all shade.
usually you blame boring fights on the guy who boxes and doesn't try to get a ko. Now, you blame it on the opponenet for not throwing.
Geez, talk about a switch hitter.
You disingenuous POS. You were explained a dozen times that there's an additional 27% "tax" on that 40m that's not there if Pac fights on a TR show. Then you pipe down, and come back repeating the same thing weeks later. That's your MO, like that FOTD sh1t you keep trying
I don't care how much money it would've cost manny. I don't care what piece of information you provide. The fact is, no matter how much you try and justify, clarify, or pretend otherwise Manny turned down a bigger payday to fight easier fights.
As for FOTD, all I said was it ws like Karl Malone or Steve Nash MVP awards-noone with any substance thought either was better than mike or kobe at the time. If that opinion hurts your feelings-I don't care. Why the fcuk are you whining about this. Admit he did it, accept that it can be seen by other posters as him not wanting the fight and move on.
Manny just beat Rios by boxing him in what many posters are calling a boring fight. Lets see if everything you've said about boring boxing holds true now.
Can't wait to see Manny box Provodnikov's ears off and read what you say afterwards.
You're an idiot too. It's too bad you don't know more about boxing. Do your homwork, clown. Pacquiao offered Marquez TWICE the money he got for Bradley and Marquez wanted no part. Pacquiao offered the same to Bradley for a rematch and they declined. They both took less money to fight each other than a war with Pacquiao. So Rios was available and everyone in Boxing said. "Oh that's a dangerous fight for Pacquiao!" Go dig up the headlines, the articles. "If Manny can't handle the bombs of Rios, its time to retire". YOU read the headlines, idiot. So don't make this out to be some made to order opponent, just like they said about Ortiz, Guerrero & Canelo for Mayweather. To a man, this was to have been a very dangerous fight for Pacquiao, and Manny made him look juvenile, and gave him a real beat down. So shut the fuqkc up clown.
Uh, just what part of what I wrote do you consider to be idiotic? -- that they are at 2 different skill levels? -- that Rios lost his last fight? -- that Manny needs to fight more credible guys going forward? -- why don't you take a literacy course so you can read with basic comprehension?
False.... It is well documented and has been publicized that Manny duck the fight. What the hell are you talking?
Dan Rafael @danrafaelespn
I have people saying Floyd should fight GGG at 154. Um, OK. He wouldn't fight Pacquiao but he'd fight that beast? Please, people. #never
LMAO PAC went 12 rounds against a slow easy to hit Rios wtf. I also heard PAC was running the whole time.So if you didn't see the fight, what the hell does it matter to you how the fight went.
congats to pac for beating a lightweight ..........
Yeah, that's a great criticism of Pacman. I mean, Rios only outweighed him by 9lbs on fight night. Pacquiao must suck!
Rios get demolished in a 12 round beatdown 120-108. Pretty embarrassing to talk all that crap and then do nothing on fight night. He should go back down to junior welterweight and fight Ruslan, although he'd first need to earn the shot at a title. It's back to the drawing board after this drubbing but the good things to take from this is Rios has a good chin at WW and looked to have quicker hands.
Um...what? It's pretty well documented that Floyd killed the fight every time. True fight fans, and fans of other sports are aware of it. Mayweather had NO plans of fighting Pacquiao when he was tearing through people. His combination of speed, power, movement, and energy were going to hand Floyd his first loss. No question about it. Mayweather did everything he could to come up with bogus reasons to stall, delay, and ultimately cancel the fight.
If they do fight, it will be when Manny has nothing left. His style requires a level of fitness and athleticism that decays with age. Floyd can play his defensive, single-shot style for much longer and he knows it. He will wait it out and catch Pac when he's slower and sloppier.

those names sound extra ridiculous when you say them out loud and in order.
Hats off to Many for winning. Lets take personal feelings out of it and look at Pac's performance last night. What I saw was a fighter still dealing the affects of a KO. Similar to Roy Jones Jr, there were times when Pac could see the punch he wanted to throw but was hesitant to throw it for fear of being countered. Be real with yourself people, when have you ever seen Manny pause for split second before letting his hands go? Never. That's what folks love bout him. I saw Manny employ a hit and not get hit style - the same as Floyd - the same style that Pac fans criticize Floyd for and say he's running. I pray that Manny has another fight to shake of the rust and build his confidence up before putting him in with Floyd. If not, Pac would fair no better than Rios, looking for the KO.
Not true. If your a real fight fan you would not say that. 100% not true. But shows who's biased and who's really about the sport. I don't hate, I just mark off who's comments I should bypass and not even read due to the fact that they will just be biased opinions and not factual based rebuttals

Calling him with a bogus offer doesn't mean ****. Has Floyd ever really tried to put the fight together?? NO. Everyone from fighters, to promoters, to execs to state officials know Floyd has killed it every time.

Those of you who think this fight wasn't tailored made to order for Pac are really not thinking with a clear head. There was a reason why the odds in Vegas were 6 to 1.
