Arum can not promote Rigo.....Rigo needs to leave period
No one wants to watch his fights, what can you do?
He doesn't deliver the product that HBO is trying to sell. Exciting fights.
I think it's a great move. Start dumping these guys who aren't intriguing and start pitting young, undefeated, up and comers against each other, pay them nothing and have something on every other weekend.
Start tapping into the "prospects" sooner and start grooming the deserving and weed out the disappointing.
I'm sick of having nothing to look forward to and then Rigo comes on and stinks up the joint, and now we have a whole 3 fight cards for 2014.
Changes need to be made on that network, and this is a good start.
Don't get me wrong what he did to Donaire was brilliant; but almost in a way where you're watching a magic trick. You say wow that was pretty good how'd he do that? Then you see it again and you're like f*ck this magician he's a f@ggot
If it's true it's a huge shame as Rigondeaux is a great boxer!!
I just find it sad that many people equate boxing with brawling
and they discount boxing that comprises more of the hit and
don't get hit philosophy. There are two sides to winning that
based on points and then the undisputed knockout.
This is somewhat Rigo's fault but mostly the industry itself fault. Because of the way boxing is run, boxing is not a mainstream sport anymore and regular fans don't give a **** anymore. Since they don't give a ****, they don't learn the sport/ they are uneducated and they only think a brawl is a good fight. They think of boxing as a barbaric event instead of a sport.
I mean, in baseball people loved watching Barry Bonds hit lots of HR's and they also appreciated when Greg Maddux shutout a team 2 to nothing.
Any good fighter could and can sell, if we change the way the sport is run and educate the fans!!
You're being female man! There's other ways to watch this sh*t. Lol
But like I said, I don't care. Rigo will be on TV again. Whether it's ESPN, Showtime, Telemundo or Univision.

it would be one of the saddest things i've seen in boxing, but if rigondeaux can only get on ESPN or spanish TV, he will retire. those fights don't pay enough to even run a world class training camp. if they can't take those fights with the promise of networks fights as a payout, he'll retire. i can't see why going to ESPN would get him back on a network, so i'm guessing that it would spell the end.
ESPN main events, for example, usually split 10 grand. the biggest fights might get a bit more, but that's only for huge ESPN fights like peterson - holt, where the winner gets back on major networks for a six figure payday. i'm not sure about telemundo, etc, but i can't imagine that they're working with a ton of money. they also cater to a primarily mexican audience.
I don't get why people are mad about this. Boxing is an art and all, but at the end of the day to these networks, its a business and its all about entertainment. The man has ZERO entertainment value. The guy has fans leaving the arena during his fights. He takes no chances, throws about 12 punches a round, is constantly on his back foot, doesn't talk a lick of trash, and gets incredibly low ratings. Why would a network want to keep showing him? If he was on Showtime, Showtime would of done the same exact thing.
Eddie Hearn should get on the phone to Rigo's people asap, his deal is expiring and Hearn knows how to promote guys.
I'm pretty sure one of the world best fighters can be a good attraction in the UK.
I dont see whats so boring about rigos style. I think the klits , carlos molina, ishe smith, and devon alexander are the most boring fighters out there.
If you really want to be seen on TV, go to one of Rigo's fights, it wont be hard to get some air time and get noticed...

Is that your last fan standing?
You must be fearing for your own kind. Rigo keeps them ducking lmao.
you don't need to be the best boxer in the world to be successful in the sport, you need to be entertaining
surprised people still haven't figured this out yet
Thanks for the enlightenment, king obvious.

Sad indeed.
He's too good for his own good. I can say the same about all pro cuban talent.

About the ppv fights I agree but this thing with Rigondeaux is a watch and enjoy thing just like when they pissed off Mayweather if you keep doing that to the best fighters you soon will end up fking with your own Money and nobody worth a sh*t in their stable and people will prefer the better cards with the better boxers. Just watch as long as Rigo stays a winner he has value because you cant be the king unless you beat the king and right now King Rigo reigns supreme theres just a lack of fighters with balls to challenge for the crown.
The Rigo situation reminds me of pro versus college football (also basketball). Fans of the collegiate games prefer the intensity of the hungry kids trying to makes the big time. I've always preferred watching the pros. I want to see the best, the very highest level of human performance. I can understand and appreciate lesser athletes and their passion, but I'd rather watch a real champ any day. Yeah, Guille might not turn it up like some; but he's the best, bar none. I can't help but want to watch a master perform.
if you cant put asses in those seats then maybe Rigo needs to be more of a crowd pleaser
He has put everyone but Donaire and Agbeko on their azz but is hard to get people out when your opponent doesn't want to fight you people who throw 800+ get gunshy by the end of first rounds what RIgondeaux needs is an opponent with balls willing to take risks.
Only way they'll listen is if you f*ck with their money. If you really cared thats exactly what you would do. There's always streams.
It's like people who complain about PPV's and the cold war but turn around and buy every single one.

Sucks for Rigo but thb i not sure if i can sit through another one of his fights unless he decides to take more chances that are there fpr the taking instead of dragging along a fight. He is def skilled though but he is not dynamic enough for my liking.

You're a principled man, my friend. I wouldn't have gone so far, but I applaud you.
Like I said man, I won't be missing any fights. I can stream. And I don't watch anything else on HBO except boxing. If they wanna f*ck with our guys, I won't be paying them my money.
