Would make a great fight, that would probably end in DLH winning by TKO or Decision. Love Morales, but DLH at 135 had a big reach advantage on most and his punches had more of an effect. Eric has too much heart to go down without making it a war, just don't think he'd pull it off.
Always great when we get fights for free that are better than most of the PPVs being put out nowadays. Lucas is my favorite active fighter, hope he pulls it out. Soto vs Orozco is an excellent appetizer bout.
I understand they gotta pay the bills, but can we please stop with the ads that take you directly to App Store while closing out boxingscene!! I mostly read from my iPhone, and sometimes I just give up on certain articles.
Good question.. I really respect Winky and he was a master at his style. I thought he edged out BHop by a hair despite Hopkins dirty tricks that night. Not sure about the fight at 160, it favors GGG. I think a prime versus prime matchup would would have Winky's fight night weight at around 164 and GGG at 170. I can see a fight where GGG builds an early lead and if Winky survives the first 6-7 rounds he makes it competitive and loses a clear decision.
Who takes it ladies?
The idea of this fight is interesting, but at 140 I see Prov knocking out the Hitman no matter what strategy he employs. Would be fun while it lasted.
I agree these odds should be closer to even, Jermain Taylor has never been outboxed unless in there with a hard puncher like Pavlik or Abraham.
Funny thing is that the over/under is at -500 >9.5 and +320 <9.5.. So that means the books believe it is likely going to decision.. Very interesting..

Margs I cant. His resume is just OK. But the glove thing and the ass whippings he took from Shane and Pac make me feel he is just overrated.
The Ass Whipping he took from Pac should contribute to his credentials. He never stopped coming forward.
It is just a natural human things, if you achieve your goals there is a natural fall off. Once you achieve what you want out of something in life there is really no going higher in that area.
Very few people have that level of greed to constantly keep striving needing to do more especially in a tough cut throat field. That is why guys like that should be celebrated.
However, really if a guy does their thing and finishes that is nothing to look down on either because that person can actually enjoy their success in a way the greedy person never will.
It is why greed is both a blessing and a curse, it can lead to the most success but if you always need more how can you ever really enjoy what you do have?
Excellent post, brilliantly worded..
Before Chino got with Robert I'd have said Aydin by KO, but now it's an excellent fan friendly fight. Toss up, that definitely ends without the judges screwing it up.
I'd love to see this fight in the UK. Arguably, it's bigger here, too.
Hopefully Eddie Hearn has something up his sleeve.
Yes please make Devon go to UK, and keep there.
You would think a judge like that would start to earn a cult following, kinda like Smoger. Everyone knows that Steve is probably the best at allowing a fighter the opportunity to recover from hard shots or KDs. Why not judges that favor action, after all I watch boxing for entertainment and am best entertained when both men push themselves to fight, and not just skate by.
still too close for comfort. antartica. they can hold the malignaggi-alexander super unification fight there.
Ha, the Malignaggi thing caught me of guard, I'm still smiling. Green K coming your way.
So you make a thread praising a judge for a fight that you did not even see?
This was a close fight and the Cano scorecard was way too wide.
Whether or not I saw all the fight is irrelevant, if you took the time to read all the post you'd know it's more about judging standards than it is about this one judge. At least I was upfront about only seeing a few rounds, before friends and I went to hang outside since Paulie was boring us to death. Perhaps if he knew he could not skate by with a jab he'd have made more a fight of it.
I hooked up a PSI to Morales to test the punching power last night. That left hook vs KHAN was 800 PSI, the left vs Morales last night wsa 850 PSI.
Link to your up to date calibration paperwork for your test equipment, or I call bullcrap.
I agree with you. It should be scored based on who is landing harder shots, hurting the other, and imposing his will on the other. If you didn't score the Cano-Paulie fight and ask yourself, who won that fight ... I think most people would say Cano.
It would definitely make for more exciting fights if guys knew they couldn't win by just jabbing and using their footwork to get out of all heated exchanges. This is not amateur boxing, this is professional boxing which is meant to be entertaining.
More good fights would be the result of scoring like this, and then boxing would make large strides and prolly even convert a lot of UFC fans.
My best friend said this and I think it brings up a very important point. "When a boxing fight is really good, nothing can come close to it, definitely not UFC. But the average boxing fight is boring, and a boring UFC fight is more exciting than a average boxing fight"
I don't fully agree with the last sentence but I can see his point.
If UFC had a 10 count, and a submission didn't end a fight rather it just meant you would automatically win the decision unless you were submitted back (then it's back to judging) it could possibly provide entertainment almost comparable to boxing.
Medina's nickname is funny "el Gringo" (The White Guy). Now Argentina has a Chinamen and a white guy professional boxers, pretty diverse for a South American country;-)
You don't know **** man.
Pat Russell is Alvarado's real biological father and he couldn't take Alvarado taking another punch. He used that opportunity to stop the fight, embrace him and reveal the truth....
The father thing is old news! Everyone knows Pat chose touring with the Grateful Dead over Alvarado. Plus in an interview Alvarado said Pat owed him over 100K in child support!
