Lol Broner's dad is such a boss. Apparently he has lost his passion and is enjoying his break however Contursi (his manager) has said he has started running to lose some weight. I'm looling forward to his return although it may be in 2016. I rate Chino highly and I have him beating Thurman and a 55/45 favourite vs Brook imo.

It is just a natural human things, if you achieve your goals there is a natural fall off. Once you achieve what you want out of something in life there is really no going higher in that area.
Very few people have that level of greed to constantly keep striving needing to do more especially in a tough cut throat field. That is why guys like that should be celebrated.
However, really if a guy does their thing and finishes that is nothing to look down on either because that person can actually enjoy their success in a way the greedy person never will.
It is why greed is both a blessing and a curse, it can lead to the most success but if you always need more how can you ever really enjoy what you do have?
Excellent post, brilliantly worded..
The Maidana that fought Floyd the first fight beats Thurman with ease, dude. Stop it.
lol if Maidana fought that aggressively against Thurman he would end up catching up on sleep. Styles make fights etc.
Based on what?
When has Maidana laid out any fighter above C level?
Thurman would use his feet and walk Maidana into big shots. Thurman is a vicious body puncher as well, he would wear Maidana down and stop him imo.

its not by accident fighters are never the same after mayweather. its not because mayweather knocks them out or anything its because these fighters put everything into it mentally emotionally physically then they come out and mayweather completely dominates. you cant underestimate what that does mentally to a fighter they are probably completely drained of motivation after that.
floyd won both fights but he didn't look dominating at all, especially in the first one, and trust me, maidana doesn't care about floyd, floyd couldn't mess with chino's head.
Since he won two world titles and won 5 rounds vs the greatest fighter of this era.
He probably didn't watch Maidana fight since the Devon Alexander fight.
True that was the down fall of Mike Tyson

He should probably never fight again, although he can still make a couple more good paydays which it would make sense for him to take.
I would say boxing is very much a game of desire as opposed to talent, once that desire to endure is gone, continuing to fight no matter the guys level of talent is generally a mistake.

The only thing Chino has proven is that he's not an elite fighter. And this is boxing, people get hurt, they go down. Maidana himself has been knocked down by a guy with 3 KOs, dropped by Ortiz, Khan and hurt by Lopez. Either guy can be hurt.
Chaves and Guerrero are better wins than anything on Maidana's resume btw.
Chino's not elite and Thurman is? Cocaine is a hell of a drug
Brook could probably decision him but it would be close and a tough fight for Kell. Thurman would get laid out by Maidana.
I agree with this. Thurman is in for a rude awakening sooner or later.
No, just fat. I doubt he ever fights at 147 again.
Chino at 154 will be exciting though :boxing:
I hope i'm wrong.
I just see someone who has pretty much hit the top and once you take a long period out and put on that much weight it's hard to get that spark back.
Based on what?
Maidana has faced a far higher standard of competition and his power has been proven at the top level. On the other hand you have Thurman who was put on queer street by Soto Karass and has never beaten anyone better than Chaves/Guerrero.
I'm not saying that Thurman has no chance - anyone with that kind of power has a shot but at this stage in their relative career Maidana should be favourite to beat Thurman to likely put him on the canvas a few times too.

Except Floyd didn't dominate Maidana. The first fight was very close and competitive. Floyd won the second fight clearly but he by no means dominated.
