Maidana-Aydin possible for early 2013
Marcos Maidana may fight fellow puncher Selcuk Aydin early next year, Golden Boy Promotions' Robert Diaz told ******.com.
Maidana (32-3, 29 knockouts) lost his welterweight debut to Devon Alexander in a virtual shutout, but bounced back with a knockout of Jesus Soto Karass on Sept. 15.
Aydin (23-1, 17 knockouts) lost to Robert Guerrero on Showtime in July by unanimous decision, but is still considered one of the biggest punchers in the division.

If Soto-Karass had Maidana in trouble I'd like to believe Aydin can cause similar trouble.
Maidana does not possess a full boxing skillset - although more skilled than Aydin as you mentioned. I expect this to be a phonebox booth with both fighters going at it.
think of a recent fight where maidana WASN'T in trouble. :lol1: he sucks it up like a champ and continues pounding on you though. you have to knock this man out cold to stop him. just simply having him hurt ain't going to cut it. even alexander, who was dominating him, didn't want to exchange with him cause maidana keeps coming.

The occasional phonebooth action won't trouble Maidana at all. I see it happening in spots like you say, but Maidana can also get range with his shotgun jab and drop right hand bombs on aydin from the outside, as he did against Soto. And, once he has his man hurt he will finish him.
I never thought Maidana was in trouble in the Karass fight. Momentum went aginst him a bit for a round or two but I knew he wouldn't fold.
Aydin is a one punch artist and Maidana has a more complete arsenal. Little guerrerro moving up took Aydin's best, so could the durable increasingly resourceful warrior Maidana.

Before Chino got with Robert I'd have said Aydin by KO, but now it's an excellent fan friendly fight. Toss up, that definitely ends without the judges screwing it up.
ill take aydin maidana is even worse at 147 than he was at 140
Its your opinion Maidana is "garbage" though. I seen your post in the other thread. Your assessments are pisspoor as a result of your bias. Joke of a poster.
Good fight, this will be similar to Rios-Alvarado. I favour Aydin though as he is about the heaviest puncher Maidana has faced.

I like that fight Make it happen. Maidana is fan favorite fighter he's always fighting everyone GBP puts in front of him. Plus I want to see Aydin again the dude still throughs hard in the 12 round of a fight the guy gives it his all inside the ring. I like this match up somebody's getting knock out in this one.
