Haney better have better luck holding than Nakatani and Commey did... Loma is very good against people who try to clinch him. He's scored knockdowns when people tried to hold him. If that's his strategy to win, that makes it more likely for Loma to win. Just hope they both make it to the ring uninjured.
I hope you’re right, crimson. Rooting for Loma all the way
Why should I care if they don’t speak English? If I were a pro fighter, nobody would be ranting about how it’s a disgrace I don’t how to speak Spanish, Japanese or Ukrainian. The only thing they’d care about is if I’m worth watching or not; that’s certainly the leading aspect I look at for a fighter. Seriously this just sounds like entitlement
Tank and Garcia have done nothing at 135 for you to be crowing about.
They literally just had a super fight knowing the risks and not even having any belt as a reward. Do you think Ortiz Jr. and Ennis will go to the trouble of making that happen anytime soon? I mean, I sure as hell would love to see it, but if Spence and Crawford can’t even make it happen when all logical routes are leading them to each other, then why would Ennis & Ortiz be able to? Actually, why were Garcia and Davis able to make their fight happen before Spence and Crawford even though they had less to gain and more excuses for why they couldn’t make it happen?
they didnt fight at lightweight and like i said garcia hasnt fought there in 2 and a half years. do you really think someone should be ranked in a division in which they havent fought for 2 and a half years? you want a fact? tank just fought an unranked guy in a junior welterweigth fight with a rehydration clause.
Do you really think I care about any of that stuff? One of the most highly requested fights in boxing finally happened when I was ready to give up on the thought of it ever happening anytime soon. If all those little details about how the fight was set up really bugs you so much that you can’t take solace in the fact that it finally happened, then there’s nothing I can do to help you.
Also calling Garcia-Davis a sideshow and comparing it to Mayweather-McGregor is grasping at straws. The mere fact that you made that statement tells me you wouldn’t able to quantify what constitutes a sideshow.
In fact, this whole pointless argument you insisted on having really shows that you don’t know how to stop and consider the broader point and implications of what someone says. Hence, why you focus on these really obtuse gripes that you have with minor claims that I make off-handedly. Saying that the lightweight division is more active than the other glamor divisions or that it’s a good thing that Davis vs. Garcia happened shouldn’t be a hot take.
including tank davis in any discussion about top fights being made is just downright silly.
Am I missing something here? Or is this just a case where because you don’t care about a matchup, you make the mistake of assuming that’s the default for everyone else. Again, this fight pulled in over $124 million in revenue. Way more than any fight they’ve had before.
Davis - Garcia is irrelevant for lightweight division.
Two of the most popular lightweight boxers fighting after years of fans demanding to see it happen isn’t relevant to lightweight division…
Care to elaborate?
garcia hasnt fought at lightweight in 2 and a half years. garcia wasnt a top guy there anyway so not sure what the big deal is fighting an unranked 140 pounder with a rehydration clause.
They are among top ten ranked lightweights in the world. Pretend all you want, that doesn’t that fact
What should I elaborate? It was not a lightweight fight.
We have Haney - Lomachenko scheduled btw. The winner will be the king of division.
I’m well aware of both of those things. Looking forward to Loma-Haney, rooting for Loma, personally. But to bring up the catchweight Davis-Garcia misses the broader point; a real obtuse “trees before the forest” argument.
the show must go on, so much talent in boxing 154, 135, 168, 122 (Fulton vs Inonue)
if Spence vs Bud never happens it hurts them and their own legacy more than it does boxing as a whole if they don't want to fight then FOH and let Boots, Vergil Ortiz, Stanionis and the next crop of Welterweights fight it out and try to Undispute with each other
the 147 is being held up by these dudes come on already damn
Thank you! Finally!
Horn fight he looked like ****. And Pacs my fav boxer
Horn did not deserve that decision in the slightest. Just because one fighter is more aggressive doesn’t mean they’re actually effective.
Btw I still think Pacquiao threw the fourth fight versus jmm.
That is one of the most insane claims I’ve ever heard. Why would he throw it at all? Let alone lay face first on the ground pretending to be knocked out for so many minutes? If I were Marquez and someone made that claim I wouldn’t know whether to laugh or just be insulted. Like seriously, give the man some credit.
Would be an entertaining fight to watch, don't know what the odds are for Fundora to win though.
Fundora struggles with cutting distance despite of his height if you watch his fights against Clarke and Garcia, he is susceptible of getting countered.
Not sure why he struggles a lot considering he is about the same height as Anthony Joshua.

He’s probably the only fighter with that much of a reach who stubbornly sticks to fighting up close. Maybe taking an L from Jermell will cause a shift in his style, maybe start using that natural reach advantage more often
A trainer pointed out to me that the reason he fights close is because he doesn't have the reaction/reflexes and had poor vision so he prefers to be in closer where he can feel his opponent. I thought the same thing you thought until he pointed that out.
A shame that he’s not allowed to wear contact lenses in the ring.
Jermell ibf mandatory is due after the tszyu fight.
So unless jermell vacates, fundora is gonna be waiting a while
Hey, as long as it happens while it still matters.
Not saying he should stop attempting to fight at the phone booth since having that kind of reach also bring advantages when infighting, just make use of his natural physical advantages.
Yet because he refuses to implement wrinkles to his game he is vulnerable of getting knocked out against lesser opposition. Imagine if he used his freakishly long jab to keep opponents at bay or use it to close the distance.
Or added basic head movement will do wonders for him since connecting flush against a much taller opponent is already difficult.
Exactly. Learn more strategies and find more ways to use his natural gifts and he could really be something.
Too much of a risk for old man Charla.
He’s only 32. Arguably at his peak now that he’s undisputed. Why act like you know for a fact that it’s now all down hill for him?
Besides, this is the nature of the sport. A champion is crowned and they defend until someone finally dethrones them; it’s what keeps boxing interesting.
Not a big fan of the father son combo which imo can take you only so far
Adding someone else would be very beneficial to him
Maybe taking his first L would be the moment that he decides to part ways with his dad and get a new trainer
Fundora is too big. He would wreck Charlo's career like he did Lubin. I don't expect this fight to happen ever.
Not with that attitude. This one is a bit easier to make happen than other dream fights that we all want. There just needs to be enough buzz stirred up about this match.
Cautiously optimistic is the best attitude to take. Hopefully the worst that happens is that it happens a few months later than when we were being promised.
I would say David Benavidez would be a good choice, but him being signed up with PBC & Shotime probably makes a little more tough to get. Though if anyone is in position to overcome those roadblocks, it’s Canelo.
To be lean more on the safe side, I’d say Christian Mbilli or in below in the top 10 besides David Morrell.
Jermall got options like Benavidez and Morrell. Lara is set to fight Golovkin. Adames is fighting Montiel. There's Sulecki if he wants to reschedule that fight. No reason for Charlo to take long breaks.
We’re talking about Mell, not Mall
