A non-big puncher at 147 pounds, Floyd Mayweather Junior was able to make Alvarez extremely hesitant moving forward 'This to me shows that his durability is not as great as people make out'.
James Toney has competed at Heavyweight, regardless of whether the Heavyweights were monster punchers or not 'The fighters in that division hit with considerable force, and on top of this? Have a brute strength Alvarez has never competed against'.
For me James Toney's durability overall is more proven.
You only have to watch each fighter fight, whether that be actual fights or highlight video's 'Toney offense and combination punch ability is again, a mark superior to Alvarez's'.
Overall as I have said before, both fighters skill for skill are very close. Both fighters excel in the same area's of their game 'But when you honestly compare both fighters, James Toney is just that much better at what he does'.
Alvarez is not setting a pace that will bother Toney, his movement and speed is also not enough to off set Toney 'So each fighters essentially will go head to head in the area's where they excel'.
And in those area's James Toney is just the better more proven fighter consistently against better competition.
I believe, I have stated all that I wanted to say on this particular topic.
...Why do you keep putting random quotation marks on random sentences for no reason? Are you aware you do that?
Mayweather and Toney are polar opposites as fighters. Mayweather has fast feet and good footwork, two things Canelo has a weakness to. Toney has slow feet and poor footwork. So that example is moot.
Toney "competing at Heavyweight" means nothing. His run there was poor and he beat no one of any note. He was dropped at 160 and 168, Canelo has never been dropped. So there's no evidence at all he's more durable than Canelo.
Toney isn't "that much better" like you've just claimed. He's just not. For starters Canelo is way more consistent. He had a good jab which Toney is very susceptible to and also a good right hook to the body with Toney is susceptible too. There's almost no area's Toney is superior to Canelo (and vice versa)
You’re doing it again. Why do you put random quotation marks on random sentences for no reason? Is English your first language?
Canelo has shown no weakness at all in durability. Canelo never been dropped. Toney got dropped at 160 and 168.
He’s not superior on offence, and he’s not superior in defence.
Stamina you can argue. But that’s it really.

Toney would take him to the same Michigan school Floyd took him.
Toney is to big. To rough. To slick for Canelo in my opinion
Toney isn't nearly as quick as Floyd.
Toney's durability is more proven, by the very fight he has been able to be competitive at 175, 190 and in the Heavyweight division 'Toney actually campaigned in this weight classes, he did not just have one fight here and there'.
I would say at-least in 4 area's Toney is superior to Alvarez 'Offense, defense, durability and stamina'.
They are pretty much level in all other area's 'But Toney is just that much better in the area's where both fighters excel'.
Overall it is a competitive fight, it is not a bad match up stylistically for ether fighter 'But it is a tough fight for both fighters'.

In all honesty, Toney isn’t superior to Canelo in any area. Maybe stamina, but Toney has faded down the stretch on multiple occasions aswell.
Its likely a SD type of fight.

Alvarez and Toney are both strong in the same area's 'But Toney is better in those area's'.
Toney's offense and defense on attack is superior to Alvarez's.
Toney's endurance and durability is also more proven.
It is not a bad stylistic match up for ether fighter 'Neither fighter has super great movement'.
But again both fighters are educated with their movement, and on the inside 'Toney's stepping movements, for me are better than Alvarez's'.
Skill for skill they are not miles apart. But Alvarez definitely is not superior to Toney in any department.
Toney also has more gears. So when you combine all of those strengths for Toney 'For me he will be the fighter winning most of the rounds'.
I am not sure why you think this match up does not favor Toney? Alvarez does not have great movement, his stamina and endurance is nothing great, and he is not a monster puncher 'So what exactly is meant to intimidate Toney?'.
It is a good fight for both fighters stylistically, it would be a competitive fight 'But James Toney is just too good at what he does'.

Not sure what that has to do with the stylistic match up.
Canelo’s problem statically is foot movement and fast feet. Two areas Toney is weak in.
The style match up doesn’t favour Toney at all.

That's what I thought you were thinking. Fighters don't need to have fast feet to have a stylistic advantage over Canelo. Toney's fluidness, durability and stamina would give him the advantage over Canelo from what I can see. That doesn't mean I think Toney is Canelo's kryptonite, I actually think it would be a very competitive fight with Canelo having a real shot of winning via decision, but I favor Toney.
Toney transitions better from defense to offense and would interrupt Canelo's combos, especially when he's against the ropes.
Not sure what that has to do with the stylistic match up.
