This is pretty sad even coming from a big fan of both fighters. Roy can't deem to do anything but just try and hop in with a straight or a hook, other then that he doesn't do anything but feint. At least Hopkins is throwing a few punches.
First of all, Whoever thinks Dirrell faked it is a complete idiot. Anyone who has ever spent multiple amounts of rounds in a ring with anyoe knows why happened tonight what was no game. Yes, AA hit dirrell when he shouldn't have, but the argument could be made it wasn't intentional and it was based on instinct. At the same time, anyone 10 round deep
in a boxing match such as that getting hit like that would have had there body convulsing in the same way. To question dirrell like that is disrespectful
not only to the sport but to the people that risk there life to entertain your sorry asses to begin with. You wanna talk like that then step in the ring.
I think Taylor was basically out on his feet. He ought to know to respond to the ref, which he didn't do twice. Maybe King was behind it. I actually supported the Bute win by the way.
I actually saw a recent fight that was on TV on a local channel, against a younger guy with a ton of heart. He looked decently good. He's fundamentally strong, a taller fighter, somewhat slick, kind of reminded me of Bute except, orthodox and not quite as slick. With the weak state of the middleweight division, I believe he could actually do some damage. I doubt he'll ever get US exposure though...
Hmmm... I'm a big Eubank fan, but I remember reading an interview with him where he had said different remarks about a possible fight with RJJ. I remember him talking about how RJJ was the kind of fighter that could ruin a career and seriously injure a person, so unless he was going to be paid an extremely good amount, the fight wasn't worth it to him. I would have liked to see this fight at SMW though. I'll try and find the source and the exact quote, I may have seen this in his autobiography.
No way, a prime barrera with manny as an underdog, compared to a favored Floyd against a 39 YO Mosley who had a good last outing, and a close win over mayorga before that. It' be one of Mayweathers better wins, but not as good as the barrera one.
Yeah obviously after sweating out that much after a workout at that pace, he would be somewhat dehydrated. Although He'd be drinking water throughout his workout. I was more just wondering for my own personal knowledge than wondering about Floyd. Anybody know about when losing water weight before the weigh in is best ideally?
Some good points made. I feel like you can spar a ton, but it's not the same as having 500k people watching you, along with all the other differences that go along with sparring. It's definitely a plus though that he ahds tarted the Berto training camp. I hope he comes out sharp.
Really?? I thought he looked good, especially considering he had 10 fights going into it. He looked strong, sharp, threw good body punches and mixed it up well. He was throwing great combos, and his punch output was very good, especially consider it was over 100 degrees ringside when the fight started. His opponent had pretty decent D but what hurt him is he simply didn't throw enough punches... kind of like Abraham in the Dirrell fight. Shumenov looked really solid offensively, the only thing that was a bit suspect was his D, and possibly his chin. Apparently though he hasn't been consistent through his fights.

But anyway, I don't think he looks THAT big.I could be wrong as it's kind of hard to tell seeing as you can only see his head and his arms. I don't think he looks bigger than he did for Ruiz though. We'll see come the weigh in.
Nate "Galaxy Warrior" Campbell was 30-6 in the ams before turning Pro. I'm pretty sure his first amature fight was when he was 25, then he turned pro at 28.
