I'm scared that if Mora wins, he moves up high enough in the IBF ranking that he'll get the title fight with N'Dam (after the other guys turn it down). GO HAN!
We used to have alot of battles back then on esb about who was the best MW prospect. Most people were convinced Lemieux would be better than Golovkin (I was an Andy Lee supporter myself).
Good fight for Khytrov, crafty southpaw gave him his first distance fight just like Gardner did Golovkin. Coley gave great effort but it was unfair for him to be in there with someone like Khytrov given his limited experience.
I think Derevyanchenko may actually be the more ready of the two Ukranians for the next level, both will be title contenders next year, but with Haymon hard to say if they'll be allowed to fight Golovkin.
The IBF have ordered @HASSANNDAM Vs Billy Joe Saunders for the vacant middleweight world title. Team Saunders have until Feb 12 to accept!— Gary Hyde (@nowhere2hyde) February 9, 2015

Sounds like he's ready to accept, I wonder if Frank will have him turn it down. Hopefully not.
If officiating and judges are fair, I'll favor N'Dam. But how cool would it be to see a unification fight this summer between Lee & Saunders, and then the winner fights Eubanks in the winter. Make a dandy opponent early next year for Golovkin.

Was just reading about this on Tha Boxing Voice, Lara's side is pushing for it, but yeah right. Lara brings nothing to the table for Cotto except a tough ass loss. Lara's more likely to fight Clottey.
I'm subscribed to all three. I also like to include Al Osta, he did a great one on Andy Lee's recent win over Korobov, but has a couple of gems on Hopkins, Bob Foster, and McCallum.
He's still looking for his tune ups. I think they were discussing a fight with the Mexican 168 pounder, who wears the cowboy hat going into the ring.
Steve Kim mentioned Marco Antonio Perriban. He's 1-3-1 in his last 5 and coming off a 3rd round TKO to DeGale, so he sounds about right to challenge lb/lb #2 - Andre Ward.
Pretty sure Mayweather would fight Khan over Cotto. Cotto/Alvarez is no longer a threat to his date, but Pacquaio/Khan would happen if he fought Cotto.
No surprise with Sturm. They said he had trouble with the weight for years and a mega fight with Abraham is going to be big money. Even a rematch with Steiglitz is far more money than a risky fight with N'Dam.
IBF updated their rankings following the Mora win. Luckily they didn't move Mora up past Soliman otherwise Haymon would've controlled the IBF title fight.
How outrageous does it look to see Geale ranked below Mora & O'Kane? The guy was their last champion to have a successful title defense, lost it via close decision, then beats another formed IBF ranked fighter in Fletcher winning every round...
1 Hassan N'Dam Cameroon
2 NOT RATED
3 Felix Sturm Germany
4 Billy Joe Saunders England
5 David Lemieux Canada
6 Sam Soliman Australia
7 Sergio Mora United States
8 Eamonn O'Kane Northern Ireland
9 Daniel Geale Australia
10 Curtis Stevens United States
11 Adam Etches England
12 Tureano Johnson United States
13 Jorge Heiland Argentina
14 Patrick Nielsen Denmark
15 Ryota Murata Japan

I've always wanted him to avenge those fights, but I think the time's passed. Alcine got David at the right time when they fought and Alcine's older and taken many beatings since. David should win a rematch with Rubio, but after watching Rubio quit against Golovkin who cares.
At this point, the proper way to avenge those fights is to go out and win against better fighters; Jorge Heiland, Tureano Johnson, and Daniel Geal...
When it comes to what Deontay Wilder will do next, his best interest is irrelevant. Haymon needs his HW champion to help him campaign the PBC. To Haymon $10mill would be a very short-sighted payout.
Wilder may never see $10mill in earnings over the remainder of his career (consider if he loses in 3-4 fights from now, with $1-$2mill per fight). He serves a purpose to Haymon in return for the position that he's been carefully moved into.
I'd like to see both of them have two more fights before facing one another. This collision has mega-fight potential, but right now it's limited to just hardcore fans.
Walters looks set to be fighting Vetyeka, and Lomo likely fight Gamalier Rodriguez and maybe Selby after that if he beats Gradovich. Too bad Gonzalez wants to focus on fighting Haymon fighers, and that Cuellar is with Al.
Who cares, this fight transcends any of those trinket titles anyways. Just because you put one of those title belts on the line doesn't mean anything other than the fighters are getting paid a little less. The winner of this fight will be declared 'King Badass'.
Honestly I'd prefer if this was only a 10 rounds (just in case it goes that long), to potential preserve these guys for a potential rematch.
There's a reason Haymon doesn't want PPV he doesn't have any PPV fighters granted there aren't many of those so his basis is major network success or hope Showtime will take him back.
Bingo! Though, being on non-premium tv and being active, if Haymon has a fighter with legit talent and great personality, that fighter could quickly become a ppv caliber fighter (assuming there's compelling fights to be made for him). He does have some good candidates:
Keith Thurman
Errole Spence
Ivegen Khytrov
Mickey Bey
Not if what Hauser wrote is true.
If he's right about Moonves, and Pac-May doesn't happen, then Haymon would be out there on a limb without either HBO or SHO...which would make this entire thing much more risky.
SHO has had a long working relationship with Gary Shaw...there's a potential avenue for Roc Nation to get it's foot in the door in a hurry.
That could be a wrench in Haymon's machine. If that's true and it holds, it forces Haymon to rely on his warchest more than he intended. Showtime was giving him about $25mill per year.
This could be a really good fight. Heiland has some quality wins over Godoy and Macklin, though you have to wonder if Macklin was simply done as a fighter.
