Apparently Wilder was offered a 10M payday to face Povetkin in Moscow.
He turned it Down.
Thoughts?

From a Business stand point it's better not to get in the ring with him right now. Povetkin could've been a heavyweight champ right now. If Ref Pabon would've done his job and stop Wlad from laying on top of Povetkin in the first round. IMO you guys would've saw a very different fight.
so wilder was on fnf yesterday and espn did a poll
who do you want wilder to fight next?
klitschko 33%
fury 55%
povetkin 13%
i think they even gave povetkin an extra 1% and got to 101%
yeah, cuz 99.9% of people who voted in that poll were hardcore fans.
happy birthday:headbang:

Didn't read all of the posts here but if Sasha wants that strap he should come to the U.S and take it and agree that Wilder should be allowed to take a voluntary defense but after that needs to at least every couple fights, fight the best available opponent.
Povetkin would be a voluntary defense?
I think Wilder would do well and stray from Wlad's "safety first" voluntaries.
ShoulderRoll made a thread saying Garcia "deserved" to face Salka so we know what kind of shameless f@ggotry we're dealing with here :lol1:
That's all this dude does. Another Hanszuberesque troll.
To me it doesn't matter who is being most biased. It matters who is winning the debate and to me it's clear the pro-wilder vs povetkin proponents are getting their wig pushed back.
It cannot be denied.
It's as simple as that.
You're being a troll. Not the position of a true boxing fan. Smh.
I don't know how anybody can be saying that the pro-wilder posters are winning the debate here when it is the anti-wilder posters mopping the floor up with the pro-wilder posters and doing it with a beer in one hand and a kool-aid smile on their faces.
I am extremely surprised to see people making excuses up for wilder. He wants to call himself a champ but it seems him & his team want the softest competition he can find. I don't care if the fight is on the moon,if the number 2 ranked guy offers you 10 million to fight and you, your team & your fans make up silly excuses not to fight, then to me IMO that is a duck.A big fat wing flappin duck. Noway to excuse that.
And I am born, bred, & live in the states, so you cant say I am biased toward Euro fighters. Oh and one more thing, can the posters from other countries stop calling all Americans yanks. I am from the south and we absolutely despise the yanks here. Yanks as in the people in the north US. Thanks.
We should hold Wilder to different standards from other champs since he isn't a champ. We could excuse it if a casual fan mistook Wilder for champion because of sheltered US heavyweight coverage, but you post on a boxing forum and we assume that means you follow boxing:

Povetkin (who you possibly hadn't heard of before clicking this thread, knowing Wilder's usual fanbase) offering him a fight is as good as he can hope for.
Sorry but isn't Wilder the paper champ these days,I know Povetkin was before,,,shouldn't Wilder be offering him to come to the states?
Does Povetkin enter the ring after the champ on the ringwalk aswell.... What else do you want,I'll take a note

I couldn't give green Karma for this post becuase I already did but I would if I could and to think I remember disliking you,I did **** on Khan quite a bit though
I think he deserves to have his optional defense just like any other champion. He earned that right.
Why do you want to hold him to a higher standard than other champs?
Such as who?
I hold all fighters to the same standard. If he can make more elsewhere or he fights a tougher fight then I'm OK with it but we both know neither of those things are going to happen.

Povetkin getting named mandatory is not that far out of reach from happening soon anyway so there's is no reason to fear that "we aren't going to get good fights." Either him or Fury or Klitschko are on the docket for Deontay this year along with maybe an optional defense which is his right. Everything is going to be fine.
F@ggot.
But why would you not want to see this fight now? The only reason is that you're pissing your knickers that Deontay would lose.
