Anyone noticed that Conor's corner said Floyd wants to drag it out but they shouldn't be in a rush to KO Floyd ... keep boxing. How does this make sense? "Hey he wants to drag it out let's play into this more"
Who knows but I don't think Floyd does well against long opponents save for Chico. He would have to go toe-to-toe with pw to have a chance. With all that being said it doesn't make pw greater. Styles make fights and that's a bad match up for mayweather. Mayweather washes everyone on pw's resume I don't pw washes everyone on Floyd's.
Are you this stupid , look at the size and Floyd walked him down and mugged him at 40 yrs of age after 2 yrs out of the ring.
Connor was LH.
Because he put his hands up and walked him down.
Floyd didn't even try to box him.
Ginormous facts. I'm disappointed that so many of us "boxing fans" fail to grasp this
Mayweather always wins but I don't think he takes boxer's souls. They might learn something from fighting him. Canelo said the Mayweather loss was a good learning experience and he improved a lot. I think Conor will be better than ever and he will knock out Diaz if they fight again. He will retain all his cage fighting skills and be a better boxer in the cage than ever before. Putting up a decent fight against Mayweather will make him more confident than ever.
To your point he DEFINITELY made Canelo better but then again Canelo is a pupil of the game. Maybe Conor will take from this and be a better boxer in the cage or maybe it'll be to his detriment because he's back in mma world. We'll just have to wait and see. But like someone else said it's going to be hard to get up with silk pajamas to do road work.
In before "but they were all past their prime doe"
lol exactly. Mayweather didn't make the rankings. Those guys had to be doing something right if they were all ranked that highly. There's about 9-10 HOFers in there
Is Mosley Prime? Is Dela Hoya Prime? Is Pacquiao prime? Is Marquez Prime and not pulled from light weight? Is Cotto Prime?
All A-level fighters that Mayweather fought where passed their prime.
Mayweather fought Prime B-level fighters, and Past Prime-A level fighters.
Hatton was B-level
Corrales was B-level
Castillo was B-level
He fought them in his primes but they were not A-level. And Hatton got pulled from Welterweight.
These are the fighters that has ATG resumes and actually fought A level Prime HOF in or near their best weight class.
SRL: Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran, Wilfred Benitez, Marvin Hagler (Passed his prime but still good)
Roberto Duran: Prime SRL, Prime De Jesus, Davey Moore, Carlos Palomino
Manny Pacquiao: Prime Marco Antonio Barrera, Prime Juan Manuel Marquez, Prime Timothy Bradley, and you could Argue slightly passed it Cotto and slightly passed it Morales
Muhammad Ali: Prime George Foreman, slightly Passed prime Frazier, Prime Ken Norton, and supposedly Prime Sonny Liston
In what ways did Mayweather have wins that are compared to the Prime A-level wins that these guys have?
Mayweather had NUMEROUS CHANCES to have a Prime A-level fighter in his Resume. A Prime Manny Pacquiao, A Prime Miguel Cotto, A Prime Paul Williams, yet he did not take it because of "reasons". Miguel Cotto is from Puerto Rico and is too far, Manny Pacquiao has to do drug tests in his terms, leave top rank, join TMT, and Paul Williams is a nobody despite having great recognition.
Mayweather's best win to date is a KO'ed ancient 36 year old Pacquiao, let that sink in for a moment.
Mayweather > Roberto
Mayweather > pacquiao
I rank srl and Ali over may tho
Also I'll take ring magazine's opinion over yours
then got walked down afterr round 3 by a pillow fighter who is 40 years old who was retired for 2 years and weighed in @ 149lbs in a 154 lb.
Ginormous factsssssss
NAH bruh.. FLOYD TOOK THIS ONE IN THE CHIN THOUGH for real lmfao
A 0-0 FIGHTER making his pro debut
Lolol!!! Maybe if he knew how to throw an uppercut he would have done some damage.
Floyd > Ireland
Get ****ing real. Conor was outboxing and outclassing floyd. PERIOD. Farhood had Floyd only up by a point. McGregor landed the best punches of the fight and he was going to get the championship rounds. Byrd looked for the first excuse to stop the fight. Not even a 10 count. Conor won tonight by outboxing floyd.
Awwwww it's ok. Your god ran for 7 rds and got stopped by a feather fisted 20 lbs lighter 40 year old man :-(
