Now that I got you here, most of you have never heard of Semmy Schilt, he's not a boxer but his left jab was a thing of beauty and I'm sure you'll appriciate. 6'11 and a lean 287lbs, he would actually use this as a KO punch.
I think there would be more guys like this in boxing, if they didnt have the common sense to bring the right behind the left and load up with a left hook. This guy is legit just looking for jab, it's powerful though, no denying.
Btw it's actually more of a karate move to throw a lead body kick and follow up with a stiff jab like Schilt always did. That's like the 1-2 of Karate/kickboxing.
Come on, that's legit power right there, doesn't matter if his opponents can't box, for someone to put down so many trained kickboxers with a jab means he has immense power - you gotta respect that
No, that jab is horrible. Almost looks like a hook the way his elbow just sticks out. And I'd be concerned if he didn't have any power the way he loads up.
Semmy schelt was a legit monster in kickboxing. Destroyed guys and basically won every tournament he entered.
He was just an average mma fighter, but in kickboxing he was as dominant as any fighter I have ever seen
Sure was. He beat every man he ever faced which is unheard of in kickboxing, and went through like 3 era's of fighters like a knife through butter.
But much like the Klitschko's in boxing he got a lot of hate because of his size advantage.

Never heard of him and after looking at The video I see why not impressed by this gump at all. Maybe to a non-boxer his jab is something to write home about but no boxer will be impressed by that one dimensional open , right hand down jab
:lol1: That jab is not designed for the sport of boxing. You can't hold your hands in a traditional stance because you will leave your body and legs open to kicks and knees. It's also why Schilt has to do other things differently like bring his left hand back quick and a certain way he stands and moves etc. Schilt does set all of his attacks up with the jab though.
Regardless, show me a boxer who has 4 brutal KO's (even against cans if you must) and 10-15 knockdowns with just the jab.
My point(kind of) with this thread is to show how the jab is the most important punch in boxing and this even extends into other combat sports. In MMA it can be even more crucial because guys even use the jab to set up takedowns. This has become more the case in recent times, they're all discovering how important this punch is.
It's all a credit to the sweet science, don't get your panties in a bunch.

Terrible jab. Makes Valuev look like Sugar Ray Leonard. Wouldn't crack the top 50 if he pursued a boxing career. Only reason he does well in kickboxing is because he's so tall and big the midgets he fights can't even land a kick above his shin, and none of them can box.
