First off RIP Chico, but Seriously every mayweather thead about resume his name comes up immediately.......i remember he smoking alot of low tier fighters, and when he stepped up and fought may he got smoked. he didn't do anything in the fight but follow may around and get jabbed to death..... I understand he was tough guy and a warrior, but alot of people act as if this was a legacy defining fight or something....he wars with castillo were fun and he had a couple other good wins over frietas and casamayor.....but what did he do to have his name mentioned along side mosley, pac and delayhoya or even judah????? Honestly i thought may's win over generao was much better as he was alot more green and inexperienced and still pulled it off.
Wow a shocker another thread to downplay the greatness of floyd lol
Rip corrales. But f!oyd fans still use corrales to big up Floyd's resume. People don't big up Jeff lacy for JC so Floyd dont need special treatment. Floyd's resume is pretty good in itself
Because he was fun. But he wasnt on the next level. But the level he was on was entertaining. He was vulnerable and had heart that got him up and fighting to win. Idk who thought seriously that he would hang with mayweather. I think tjat was really something said afterwards. If you watch the eliminator fight on fnf in which winner got jr you will see how vulnerable he was and how susceptible he was to getting hit with jabs and strait right hand. Teddy atlas mentioned it few times and said clearly he wasnt ready for a mayweather levwl fight although he was fun and entertaining and had a heavy slow hands
You have no evidence of anything, you bltch. Are you his fvcking doctor?
When you tell me when the NSAC has ever deemed a fighter to be dehydrated, you let me know. Until then, shut your bltch ass up.
What???? All of that and yet he apparently passed his NSAC physical? Eat that crow, you dumb bltch :lol1:
"Prison Sentence" LMAOOOOO!!!!
NSAC physician can stop you from fighting if you are extremely dehydrated. It depends on the related signs. Vitals, weakness, lethargic, struggling to make weight, other related health issues .......
In some cases, its also possible that the fighter will be monitored closely up to fight time to see if there are any issues. It's on a case by case basis.
The final decision is not an easy one because of money often trumps health and NSAC has been criticized for this often. Still, the physician can give his input. NSAC physician did not state that Floyd was extremely dehydrated. If you heard otherwise, let us all know!
When was the Diego fight? 2002? Floyd pulled that stunt in 2015 when it was illegal to use banned IVs!!!
but its cumulative evidence that all points to Floyd being fine and not extremely dehydrated. Evidence points to Diego being extremely dehydrated.
Diego Corrales: Came in 2lbs over the weight limit.
Floyd: Came in as he usually did, 146 which was 1lb under the WW limit.
Diego Corrales: Diego struggled in part due to having the flu/bronchitis.
Floyd: His pre-fight form said that Floyd was all good. Nobody from Floyd's camp said that Floyd had any health issues.
Diego Corrales: His team also said that Diego struggled with his weight.
Floyd: His team also said that Floyd made weight easily.
Diego Corrales: After initial weigh-in, Diego had to continue to drain himself. He went to a sauna to sweat out 2 more pounds.
Floyd: We all saw Floyd drinking perhaps 2lbs of fluids! :lol1:
Diego Corrales: Fight night, Diego weighed unofficially 146lbs ... While it could have been more but it shows how much weight he had to take off for the weigh-in.
Floyd: Floyd and his team also said that Floyd made weight easily and weighed unofficially at 149. A number that is similar to some of his other unofficial fight night weigh-ins.
Diego Corrales: Coming into camp, Diego weighed about 170lbs
Floyd: Floyd says he walks around 150, 148, 147 and from 30 days out Floyd weighed relatively close to those number!!!! It proves that Floyd's weight was rock solid stable.
So to say, Floyd's weight was relatively the same but not Diego's!
Floyd's vitals was good! Examination was good!
Diego Corrales: Having the flu/bronchitis, one can see how that can play a role in him being weak, drained and struggling to make weight.
Floyd: Floyd's excuses for his dehydration makes no sense!!!
- Floyd said giving urine contributed to extreme dehydration .... BS!
- Floyd said giving 1 tbsp. of blood 10 days before contributed to extreme dehydration .... BS!
- Floyd said training contributed to extreme dehydration .... BS because in interviews he said that he was relaxing in his final days leading up to the fight ..... (relaxing) which makes sense!
Diego Corrales: not the only time that he struggled to make weight. Same issue at higher weights
Floyd: Floyd says he walks around 150, 148, 147 and made weight easily for over a decade!!!
Diego Corrales: Team admits that Diego was telling them that he couldn't make 130 anymore. It would be extremely hard and draining.
Floyd: AGAIN, Floyd says he walks around 150, 148, 147 and makes weight easily .... for over a decade!!!
Diego Corrales: Looked weak, lethargic and struggled in the fight .... going down many times (5X)
Floyd: Floyd said he felt strong and that when Floyd would hug Manny, he knew that Manny knew that Floyd was feeling strong .....
Here Floyd gets FloydHype to interview him soon after the IV incident. Only overprotective Floyd fans can believe Floyd's BS of requiring banned IVs!!!!
"I'm not one particular fighter that has drained himself 20 or 30 pounds. I'm a fighter that walks around at 150, 148... I'm extremely happy with everything...right now," - Floyd IV Mayweather
.
His Castillo fight is rewatchable and one of the most entertaining fights in boxing history. He was outclassed by Mayweather and may have not have been elite, but neither was Gatti, but that doesn't make them any less special. They entertained us and were brilliant for the sport and gave fans reasons to tune in. I don't like this new trend of bashing past fighters because they were less skilful than todays boxers. Some deserve to be bashed if they were both average AND boring, but if they were entertaining then they deserve their place in history.
Let's be clear no one in here is calling Corrales a bum. Me and a lot of others are simply saying he was a decent to maybe good fighter but clearly not great. It was a very good win for money at the time.... but, it's no where as good as a win as beating a prime oscar or mosley or even someone like forest, because those were great fighters especially in thier prime.......this win gets over rated simple as that. I don't care how high he was on the p4p list at the time he still wasn't a great fighter.......
On a resume with ZERO top class fighters in their prime, you have to start digging andi ts easy to twist history for guys who I guarantee weren't even watching boxing when the fight happened. Corrales was a decent scrapper but nothing more than a b level slugger.
That all corrales was to me.........agreed............
Then why the fùck you posting then? To bait people into trashing Corrales on some weirdo agenda shït?
I comes down to this, its not always about who you beat --- its about intellectual reasoning. People that know the science know Corrales had somehting special.
Teófilo Stevenson was a great and would have probably smoked Clay/Ali, but he never went pro and fought anybody. Does that not make him great? If you know how to recognize talent, you know!
Corrales WAS a great fighter. There wasn't a lot of fish to fry at that weight then. Corrales was the dude to beat. Floyd didn't beat a lot of super talent in their prime because of several legitimate factors. But Corrales was a terror at that time and Floyd stopped him in his tracks when he was undefeated.
Dude you're talking the best of that era in Mosley and Hoya. Floyd couldn't get those fights.
Corrales wasn't a great fighter man.....most of the guys in here have stated he was decent to maybe good but not great, by a long shot.
Corrales was tall and had power so he got compared to Tommy Hearns which was ridiculous. Tommy was a much more complete fighter than Corrales in every facet of boxing.
Yawn..........
:haha:
You just did what someone who has no comeback.
Go read up about Diego and his situation back then.
"Corrales had weight problems"
"Corrales was also suffering from bronchitis"
"He didn't have his strength"
"What he had was some morons who talked him into doing this."
"Diego Corrales looked dead at 130 lbs."
"Diego failed to make weight on his first attempt, scaling two pounds over the junior lightweight limit. An hour later, after some downtime in a sauna, Corrales made the weight."
"prison sentence"
Oh, an IV has something to do with it?
You are attempting to debate, right? Did you get your ass beat 4-0 and refuse to pay your debt? People should know what kind of little bltch you are. I told you I was gonna keep kicking you around, pvssy.
Yes since the poster said that one cannot be drained in one fight while being OK other fights before and after. Then I asked this Floyd fan the simple question that if he cannot believe what everyone knew about Diego Corrales then how can he possibly believe Floyd was in that condition when applying his point plus all other evidence that shows that Floyd was NOT severely dehydrated?
Like YOU, he deflected!
Corrales is a HOF fighter.
It wasn't just that Floyd won he won handily. I'm not fan of Floyd but watch that fight and tell me he doesn't look fantastic in the ring.
Stop trying to play it off dude. You said you weren't wrong factually when I first pointed it out. You didn't say crap about nitpicking or anything in your initial response to me. Only after my second post that showed you were factually wrong did you start with the "incredulous" act. Some people can walk and chew gum. They can make the bigger point while having their facts correct. And if their facts aren't correct and get corrected they don't lose their crap. But if you can't no problem.
I stopped reading after the first sentence. Take care.
You're confusing my being incredulous with being defensive. You just want to hear a random internet poster say, "Yes, you're right on a nitpick point that obstructs the bigger statement?" I'm concerned with the big picture, not nailing down the time apart by the exact month (when we're talking years). So if you were expecting some sort of "Oh my God, you're right!" on something so pedantic then keep waiting and think what you want.
Peace.

Do you have a problem with English comprehension?
"Instead of just being a man and saying yeah I was wrong you got to start acting like a little btch."
I bolded it for you. Being a man is admitting you were wrong. Hell if you didn't say anything I wouldn't have said a thing after. You came back and said you weren't wrong I showed you were wrong and then you said nonsense obviously butt hurt despite me saying it was no big deal. We all make mistakes on facts sometimes. We don't need to get all defensive. If I'd have said it was 2 years and someone showed me I was wrong, I'd just have said thanks for the correction but my point still stands.
