Klitschko lost the mental battle way before the fight in the ring.
And Fury's team beat Klitschko's team in every department. They outsmarted them inside and outside of the ring.
I believe Klitschko's all-around prime was against Pulev. Now it's just in the head that the battle takes place.
An yeah I forgot... Klitschko has to go through all the build-up of the second fight again...
* convicted drugs cheat (1996)
* beat 5 guys who were in the top 10 when they fought
* beat Sam Peter after a 4 year hiatus
* ducked Rahman
* 14 championship fights
* best win Corrie Sanders
* only lost due to injury and giving up
* never lost more than 3 rounds by any judges scorecard
* gave Lennox Lewis one of his tougher fights
What do you think?
1st ballot?
Man, you should go easy on those supplements...
Wladimir clearly was the one dominating whilst Wladimir fought the Sosnowski's of the world.
Does his title reign make him deserving though?
That supplements must be damaging your brain pal...
He's 34 and coming from a serious injury. I say he has two good fights left in him but that's about it. He has to fight some serious contenders and not just bums.
I say he has to stop acting like the wimp that he is. Vitali had more than 5 surgeries and we all know what he's all about.
Wladimir already had one surgery on his left shoulder and a one on his left biceps ( not before the Pulev fight) and he is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
Haye is all talk but no walk. He disgusted me with his nonsense.
Povetkin would smash that idiot to bits.
I got to be honest. If I had to pick one man that can truly beat Wladimir Klitschko, that would be Povetkin.
I am glad Povetkin left Sauerland, he is becoming a true gentlemen of the sport.
He's not 25 anymore and SPEED is so important in his game. If he comes back and lost some speed he's going to get KO'd.
Haye is currently bulking up. I don't know what his "plan" is. I guess he must currently weigh in around 102-105 kilos.
He better take boxing seriously or just SHUT UP for once and for all.
Truth is that Chisora WAS an excellent...gatekeeper.
Everytime he face world level opposition he got at least schooled.
- Vitali Klitschko whipped Chisora for 4 rounds and schooled him for the last 8 rounds with injuries on his left shoulder and right hand.
- Haye knocked out Chisora as soon as he started to get to him.
- In their second bout, Fury badly battered Chisora.
It is however true that the Chisora that faced Fury was clearly not the same that fought Vitali and Haye. But make no mistake, I cannot see how Chisora would have secured victory if he didn't land a "lucky" punch.
I am personally starting to like Tyson Fury and I think he is very underrated. His sole big problem is his mindset. He is truly talented when he wants to.
If Fury comes in with the right attitude he might badly punish Chisora, if not, he might be in for some trouble.
I got Fury via TKO between the 9th and 11th round.
I really wanna see Klitschko-Fury. Fury might gie him some big problems to deal with.
76,67 % of those who voted on this poll don't believe Froch is an ATG. That is quite encouraging!
Froch is the biggest fraud since Shannon Briggs "beat" Foreman
:pat::pat::pat:
- Froch got battered for 8 round against Groves 1 ; he got hit flush several times in Groves 2
- We all know the Dirrell fight was a ROBBERY
- A one-handed Andre Ward took Froch to school ( by bus)
- Froch couldn't handle Kessler in their first fight, in their second fight Froch struggled, especially towards the end of the fight.
- GGG batters Froch and you know it.
All Froch can say is : " quack quack " . At least he can quack like a duck apart from running like a horse from Golovkin.
Froch has had his ups and downs in a stellar career. That's what happens when you face world class fighters who actually punch back.
Something that Golovkin has yet to do.
I've never claimed Golovkin would beat all world-class opponents. But stylistically, he definitely brutalizes Froch in my opinion.
GGG has some holes in his game. Froch has craters...
Froch knows he's extremely overrated. Golovkin brutally batters him in my opinion.
For the sake of his health he should better "avoid", like he says, Gennady Golovkin.
That, to me, is a clear duck... quack QUACK!! :burnout:
"the hardest puncher in boxing history"? Really you mean in Disney Land don't you?
Look at the competition he's faced, there's not one man near being an ATG and their records were all padded so they could be used as title opponents. No different than Mayweather using his opponents on his under cards to develop a following then building them up to as impressive contenders knowing all along their simply "opponents" who will not fight hard to win. Same thing Wlad has learned, he is better than his opposition and his opposition are just trials they don't come to win they look to go the distance and get paid then go on vacation hahaha!!!!
Why can't the fans SEE what's going on?
If Foreman hit Wlad on the point of his chin he'd wake up next week!
Wlad is a good puncher added by his size not his techniques!
When he throws his right hand he steps over his lead foot almost every time. Not good technique!
Ray.
Are you implying that Foreman has a better technique thant Wladimir Klitschko?
I've got one advice for you : shut up...
Neither has very good technique. Foreman is a heavy handed puncher and hits a lot harder than Wlad. As far as technique Georges jab is much better than Wlads but again neither man has technical style and grace. Both are rather clumsy but that's what happens when "over sized" men try to box.
Dr. Whatever telling people to "shut up" from your room in mommy's house in Germany is so brave of you! If you disagree that's ok but when your speaking to adults try to act like one when you speak.
Ray.
Oh you're being quite personal. If you rate Wladimir Klitschko's technique as "clumsy" you have nothing to do in here. Deal with it...
And of course, your're a far beter expert than Emmanuel Steward, who even said that Wladimir Klitschko has " the best straight right hand he has ever seen", to say that Klitschko is clumsy. Man you're harming my brain!!
That's a very interesting subject! I would love to know more about boxers' athletic stats. I do only know some stats about Wladimir Klitschko.
He once bench pressed up to 180 kg (396 pounds) 4 times
His straight right hand punching power is measured at around 700kg (1534 pounds).
He trains around 6 hours per day when in training camp
He swims 1 hour in the morning fasting when in training camp
I would love to read about some other boxers athletic skills!
Povetkin was totally out of shape! Look at him now vs then. Different animal all together. Haye definitely wasn't in his best shape, but he was in good shape.
I struggle to see how Mormeck came in the best shape of his career? That's just a ridiculous statement.
Wach, Pianeta, Pulev... Some of the worst challengers for the title in 30 years.
Mormeck of course being THE worst. Alongside Leapai and Rahman in 2007.
Povetkin was not totally out of shape no, he just wasn't in his best shape. That doesn't change the fact that he is very athletic.
Man, David Haye was in tremendous shape ! He never was as fast and as alert as a HW !
Mormeck didn't have an ounce of extra-fat.
I would certainly not call Pulev one of the worst title challengers in 30 years, certainly not.
Man I REALLY wanna see the behind the gloves face off between Klitschko and FUry to know more about the mind games....
I have Klitschko ahead psychologically at the moment but we have to see the face off and , of course, we don't know what both fighters must be thinking. Very very hard to say...
I do believe that the Fury's are actually happy that the fight is postponed, I really do.
And I also belive that Klitschko is concerned about Fury and not just in boxing terms... Fury can bring a very awkward energy on fight night.
I hope Sky sports releases the complete face-off AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
I can't believe that I am as excited about the face-off than am I for the fight...
I am also eager to have Johnny Nelson's point of view about it...

Team Fury looking a bit uncomfortable while watching Klitschko's workout.
How's his calf holding up though? :lol1:
I don't like speculating.
As far as I can rememberl, Xavi, my favorite football player, who was then 34 years old, and who is clearly not comparable in terms of athleticism to Klitschko ( by hundreds of miles, had a minor tear in his calf and he would resume training after a week/10 days or something like that.
The article is badly translated by google but if I've understood it well, he should resume his "normal" training camp in 1 week or 2.
Johnny Nelson said that you can swim when havin this type of injury.
Fury will win by ko in a late round.. break Klit down first maybe drop him a couple of times
I wouldn't be surprised if he hammers his body in the first rounds
Klitschko paid the price for his big ego
I say this with all the respect due to my Ukrainian fellows.
Both Klitschko brothers are great sportsmen. Both are role models when it comes to sports. But what I used to like the most about them, was their humility, their manners. I , specially, liked Vitali for his amazing style and heart.
I must admit that the Ukrainian conflict was a first thorn put in my ribcage. I was quite confused seeing Wladimir Klitschko getting involved in politics. Everybody must be held accountable for their opinion and rightly so. But wouldn't it have been wiser to promote peace instead of jumping on the Russia hating bandwagon and even implicitly blaming Putin for the Malaysian airline crash by tweeting the headline of this tabloid that is " The Sun" ?
But then after, I wanted to focus only on boxing and not politics and I separated both and decided to move on.
Klitschko- Pulev got announced. Klitschko, as usual, was a true gentleman during the press conference before the fight and made Pulev eat his words in a spectaculare fashion. But since this fight, I can hardly recognize the Klitschko that I used to appreciate : his attitude prior to the Jennings fight really irritated me. He gave me the impression that he was thinking the fight was already won. He even sang a song a couple of days before the fight dedicated to Jennings who wasn't ****y during the press conferences. What was the result of that ? Klitschko was huffing and puffing during the fight and won a UD through sweat, blood and tears.
And I've said this before, I even made a thread on it , Fury was certainly no joke. I even said that he was more talented than Klitschko, some posters laughed at me.
I was fully uncertain about the outcome of the fight. The first reason being that I knew that Fury ws an amazing talent but also that I didn't like Klitschko's attitude AT ALL. Especially when he spoke about all this therapy nonsense etc... don't get me wrong, I don't like people that have a cheeky tongue, and Fury can be sometimes very irritating with all the insults coming out of his mouth but he was, at least, very GENUINE.
When I saw Fury entering the ring in the arena I knew that he came here to win it. I thought that he would get nervous but not at all. And he should be given props for that.
Klitschko must now bear the burden of his big ego. I've said it before on this forum that I didn't like what I've seen of him in and out of the ring, before, during and after the Jennings fight. I wanted him to make history and beat Joe Louis' record but he reaped what he sowed and rightly so.
Fury gave Klitschko a reality rehab and ended up being the therapist and Klitschko the patient.
Can Klitschko come backe mentally ? Yes definitely
Can Klitschko come back physically ? I doubt it.
He will have to take the rematch as soon as possible and time is ticking away.
2016 might be the last year where he can perform at this level in terms of athleticism. It's all double or quits for Klitschko right now.
Congratulations to the new king of the division, Tyson Fury.
Based on what?
Ortiz, being 37 years old, moves incredibly well, he has amazing technique, is very very slick considering his size.
Fury ,almost surely, wouldn't dare switching ot southpaw more than a couple of minutes against Ortiz, he would get badly outboxed. Fighting orthodox, he would have to keep him at bay with jabs that wouldn't (fully) land. I can hardly imagine Fury hitting Ortiz with straight shots, he would have to lean forwards to land on him.
Ortiz, with his crazy 213cm reach, slickness and amazing Cuban technique, would give Fury headaches fighting in an ambush style. And at least, he is in shape contrary to Solis...
I would even say that Ortiz would have to make less adjusments against Fury than Klitschko.
Klitschko, at a certain point of this fight, will have to bring the energy he brought against Pulev, Wach and Haye. He'll have to stay very alert and literally go to war with Fury. He can definitely do it but he has a lot of adjustments to do.
