A LOT of people criticized these two before their first fight. Good to see they've earned the respect of many & are willing to do it again, immediately. Can't wait for this fight! :boxing:
Let's all be honest and just say that mayweather and pacquiao would be no where near as big now if they didn't fight De La Hoya. I'm sure PAC knows it, and I'm damn well sure mayweather knew it back then seeing as he was jumping for joy in the audience during the knockdown in odlh's comeback vs mayorga.
Lol Ariza is annoying but he's not to blame, he gets pacquiao in shape if anything. A lot went into what happened that night, after beating all these bigger guys pacquiao overlooked another little guy who had him all figured out. He tried to play chess with a master instead of bumrushing him like in the first fight. Pacquiao is most successful when he throws flurries fast and hard and overwhelms his opponents. We'll find out in a few weeks if his excuses were legitimate or not. But I'd bet on another close, great fight.
First time I heard of this, wtf
I mean I know she was his manager and got him some big fights, but she wasn't IN there, risking her health fighting for them. What a grimy b1tch.
"If he can iron out the details and get the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight done, that's going to be nearly as impressive a feat as selling $177,000 worth of headphones in nine minutes."
so according to Kevin Iole, selling a bunch of headphones is more impressive than putting together the richest fight in boxing history. The fight that's pretty much impossible to make. Damn.
De La Hoya was my favorite fighter growing up, his fights with mayweather and pac made them stars, he passed the torch in the biggest way.
I poke fun at the pictures (hence my name) but honestly I have no spite towards the man for that.
The only thing I don't like is how he turned into another Bob Arum.
I remember last year he was practically begging for the pac/marquez 3rd fight saying that marquez would beat him, and now a few months ago he said that we all know that pac is going to destroy marquez and that people will want to see pac/ortiz after. It just shows his true feelings that he had last year, and that he really does cash out his fighters sometimes.
Should be more fun to watch. I don't think Berto expected to be bum rushed the first round, if he can get his legs under him this fight could be closer, Ortiz has it though- January right? Can't wait! :boxing:
Sergio Martinez, I first became a fan years ago seeing him get robbed of a victory in the Cintron fight- fast forward a couple of years and it's just amazing to see his come up to the top.
Floyd Mayweather, when he was young he always exhibited a quiet confidence in his abilities, I heard him once say in a promo for the zab judah fight something like "I'm not trying to be ****y, I'm just telling the truth" when talking about his talent. fast forward a couple of years and he became kind of a douche but i can't hate on him for it- he's making a crap ton of money for it so good for him
Manny pacquiao, this dude fought everyone, the last few years have been sketchy but honestly every fighter that makes it to the top the hard way deserves respect- Manny is great.
Juan Manuel Marquez- this guy has fought for so long under the shadows of his countrymen morales & barrera, and was honestly never really noticed and appreciated by his people the way he should have been until the 3rd pacquiao fight, supremely talented- heart of a Lion, great guy.
Frankie Gomez- haven't seen much of this dude lately but I still remember him trying to convince my brother to go on early morning runs with him lol he's a chill dude.
Israel Vazquez vs Rafael Marquez 1,2, & 3 you can skip the fourth one
Erik Morales vs Marco Barrera trilogy is a given
Julio Cesar Chavez vs meldrick Taylor
Salvador Sanchez vs Wilfredo Gomez
Jorge maromero Páez was always funny to watch lol
Chavez jr and his supporters have such a big chip on their shoulders after that 12th round that they're completely oblivious to the fact that Sergio took him to school for 11 rounds, I'd prefer Martinez chase the big fights at 154 (Canelo/Mayweather) & if he can't get those then I would gladly pay to see him take Chavez to school again, so we could stop hearing the Chavez jr clan with their "what ifs"
Martinez' boxing last night was just beautiful.
It doesn't matter what your opinion of Khan is, Bradley is the one that pulled out of the fight. Business decision or not, he is the reason why the fight was never made, ZERO BLAME ON KHAN.
