I'm slowly realizing that every user on NSB is a troll, some just more obvious than others.
Or maybe its permanently opposite day around here?
What kind of fucked up shit is this place anyhow?
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
I see you haven't met daggum yet.
Chavez relies way too much on his size. This likely explains his chin as well as his power. His boxing skills are hardly impressive to say the least and I fear he will not do too well if/when he moves up unless he makes major changes to his training regimen. He needs a lot of work to improve his skill.
i had chavez winning. he pressed the fight and fought gritty. this is how you win fights in the joe calzaghe universe. i really don't pay attention to little details like who's landing. if you are coming forward you are in control.
stop trolling bro lol

Good that Arum decided to keep it 100% for a change. Chavez's performance was worse than I predicted, Sergio literally shut his shit down. However, based on post-fight interviews, Chavez didn't learn a damn thing from this experience. His ego seems to be bigger than ever and some are feeding into it. His mind-frame is, "I just couldn't get off, I started late, he didn't hurt me, I wasn't tired, I know I can hurt him, I'll knock him out next time". He just doesn't have a boxing brain, he can't (or refuses to) analyze and admit his own mistakes. The only compliment he could muster was "He's a good boxer"....that's all you learned after Sergio just took your big ass to school?:nonono: A fighter's style is an extension of their personality/mentality. Just hear him speak for a little while, and you can tell he puts very little thought into his in-ring work, he's just so basic. Chavez has out-done Khan in the "making a fool of yourself after a fight" department.
Rant over lol
I would not call it pathetic, I think he tried but he just isn't on the same level as Sergio. I don't see the need for a rematch because that was pure luck, what happened in the 12th. That fight was not even competitive for 11 rounds. Jr. fought defensively and with his guard up which is all that prevented him from being stopped. As another poster said, he did not want to get hit with the punch he doesn't see.
He's right, and I like the honesty.
Arum might say some ludicrous things, but that seems to be a promoter thing - he knows his boxing and I'm pretty sure he, at the very least, suspected Martinez would win, but by his tone in this interview he looks genuinely surprised of Chavez's performance, or lack thereof. Most likely, he was expecting Chavez to do better, if perhaps not win but do better for the possibility of a big rematch. Without that 12th round now, no one would even consider the idea.
I doubt Martinez (not because he's scared) looks towards a fight with Golovkin, but Chavez should get a rebound win and then fight Golovkin - assuming he remains at 160.
I also dont think he should or will. Going by the interview that the Argentinean newspaper did, it sounded like he didnt want anything to do with a rematch especially in Texas. I think he realizes now the type of numbers he can do vs a named opponent and might just chase the bigger names even harder. And those big names cant say "well he doesnt bring any money" cause he obviously does.
And demonlight it's called sarcasm dude.

If Sergio takes the immediate rematch, which I don't think he should or will, you're exactly right. That is exactly what he'll do. Good call.

That would be a risk, but if it was Martinez that did that or someone else what is the difference, it was always going to end badly for JCC Jr. as he was. Either JCC Jr. will get the lesson or he won't (which is another risk).
Arum looks pained at the beginning, like he knew what he had to say because it was plainly obvious but it was still like chewing glass.
Him saying that though shows exactly why he made this fight, say what you will about Arum he isn't an idiot and the way JCC Jr. was going was only going to end one way so he needed to learn a lesson, so it was win-win for Arum because either he got a great win or JCC Jr. got his lesson which could put him on a more sustainable path.
What is getting said by his team all seems to be going in that direction and they don't want Jr. to focus on his one shinning moment allowing him to lie to himself about where he currently is at.

jnr got too ****y and too full of himself he needed a humbling and thats what he got. My bet is he'll be a better fighter for it, but he ain't never going to be in the same league as his dad, not even close.
