this ****'s been going on for years
do the floyd fanboys ever wonder why so many boxing heads are and have been disillusioned with floyd for so long?
do you think there may be something in that?
Quote:
so should this fight be mandatory or extra credit for Floyd because imo people are ranking it like a regular fight when its far from it. He should get special credit for taking that fight if he chooses.
does a $32m guarantee and upside on a huge PPV count as special credit?
cos that's the only credit Floyd cares bout. he don't care bout internet nerds on forum discussing matters of legacy.
is it too much to expect an atg who earns $30m+ guarantee each fight to take on a fight that the majority of ppl think he wins anyway?

People really need to question Espinosa's role in all of this.
From GBP's attorney, to Showtime Head of Sports, to tying SHO into a phenomenally dangerous deal all weighted in favour of Floyd, who is a de facto GBP fighter.
There's a serious conflict of interest here.
Floyd's going to retire in 5 fights so there are no implications for him if it all goes badly wrong. But what happens to GBP if SHO has to cut back on its budget big time?
And we have seen something like this, albeit on a much smaller scale, in Audley with the BBC and Haye with Sky Sports. But those channels got burned by bad deals and are now incredibly wary of going near boxing.
From what i read, its showtime that would take the hit
Long-term, GBP would too. Showtime is their home, they've burnt their bridges with HBO.
Hopefully, Showtime have an opt-out with this arrangement with Floyd if they have just lost a huge amount of money. Sustaining a loss-maker like this could be really, really damaging for SHO, GBP and boxing. Floyd ain't give a **** and why should he?
the best way to handle something as horrible as im sure this vid is is to simply not watch it. not even for a couple of mins to have a quick look. do not give the guy the hits. the thing people like this dislike more than being hated is being ignored.
in the last couple of days, weve had:
1.pac vs rios confirmed
2.showtime possibly have huge losses from the floyd fight
3. the aftermath of floyd-guerrero itself
4. bute-pascal cancelled
5. wilder's domestic charge (strangulation).
really, with all this going on, who give a **** about a little stupid punk like broner posting this (im sure) retarded video?
just ignore him, people.
khan adjusts the narrative as he goes along.
the thing he is saying about virgil now - he's a great trainer, one of the best in the world, calm, good game-planner, is teaching him things he never knew before - are the same things he used to say about freddie until the peterson fight.
the thing about weight - how he'll be stronger at 147, how he has been draining himself (though we never really heard much about being weight drained until he actually lost), how he'll punch harder - he said the same about 140, which again only became a story once he lost
at 147, when the bigger punches dent his chin, what happens then?
this:
"oh robert garcia, he is one of the best trainers in the world, I'm working hard away from the spotlight and getting great sparring, he's teaching me things no one ever did before"
"im going to be much stronger at 154"
If they want the event to be as big as possible they should have it next May. That way you get Canelos name out a little more and sell him to the general audience as the next superstar and have longer to promote/buildup. If they fight this September, promotions would be rushed and they would have to compete with Texas A&M vs Alabama which would be a bigger event and draw a bigger audience.
floyd fans said the ghost fight was ok, as he would be fighting aganst canelo in sept,
come sept, now it looks like itll be another crap fight, with the promise of the canelo fight in may.
same old floyd, always promising us a better fight down the line.
All these ppl talking about letting the fight simmer (i guess y'all wanna let it marinate now like y'all b-tch at arum for doing all the time) and make it next year in may...
well, that means we gotta sit through floyd-khan/devon and canelo-cotto.
another one of floyds fights down before retirement, basically a holding fight so the canelo fight can be made down the line..
and yoy guys wanna see canelo-cotto too? really
well, ****....i dont.
make the damn fight in sept
Lol at the person who said Floyd should walk away from the sport (not quoting that big dumbass post). yeh he should walk away from $32m paydays cos a bunch of internet nerds call him a ducker. poor Floyd.
when you're an undoubted atg who makes such huge money, is it too much to ask u take at least one fight with not everything stacked in your favour?
Floyd doesn't get penalised for being so good, he gets penalised for making so much money. we know he's gna retire undefeated- can we at least get a couple of fights where we don't 100% sure know that he's gonna win beforehand.
special credit. lol.

the odd thing is - if it has bombed, i cant see showtime giving everyone, including rafael and iole, the satisfaction of this, especially after calling them out on twitter"
"oh yeah, we did 800k. your sources were right, danny boy".
one way or another, we're not gonna get the true story.
With all due respect, what kind of a dribbling retard would enjoy this stuff? It's like the worst elements of all the worst reality shows, condensed and shat out in an 11 minute video that would make you weep for humanity. Jesus.
yours, and dancov above, have critiqued it beautifully.
but you shouldnt have even reached that point.
we just need to ignore this kid. people are already fed up with the act. say what you want about floyd but at least everyone clicks on the links to what he says.
broner? people just dont even bother.
and thats how its gotta be.
Devon has one of the ugliest styles in boxing right now. that fight would be visually horrendous. he's anti-entertainment. Cunningham has spent of their finds chiding him for under-performing. Devons a nice kid but I can't for the life of me understand how anyone could enjoy watching him fight

Man what a sh1t fight that is even for Mayweather. Can't wait to see how his groupies try to legitimize it? That should be fun at least.
just imagine this murderers row of opponents.
(fat, slow) cotto, guerrero, danny garcia
:lol1:
im sure they'll legitimise it by using the "who else is there" excuse. again.
That's a bit much Cobra.
too much. first time in a long time froch has made a mis-step.
benn and eubank were forever haunted from seriously injuring watson and g-man, and that whole tragic spectre hung over british boxing for a long time.
not sure why froth said this, especially as he's quite friendly with kessler too.
floyd has 2 big fights lined up perfectly for him. canelo in september, garcia/matthysse in may. he just needs to step up and fight canelo now. i don't think he will though.
i expect we'll be told those fights need to marinate some more.
and before we know it, floyd will have had his 5 remaining fights, none of them incluidng canelo and lucas, cheques cashed and floyd has bounced.
and we'll junior gong and big dunn will argue until the world ends about whether floyd ducked them or not.
justifying an Alexander fight on the basis that Ortiz and guerrero fights sucked....the world has officially gone mad.
maybe the question is to why Floyd continues to pick such limp opposition. Devon does not deserve the fight at all, the guy got beat by Bradley, Lucas and kotelnik, and flat out stunk the joint out against Bailey.
Alexander is so bad, that he's the one guy besides Paulie that I'm certain khan would beat.
Posted from Boxingscene.com App for Android
Alexander needs to be put in there against a fighter who's coming to win, which wasn't Bailey or Purdy, he isn't entirely to blame when it comes to failing to entertain. I thought the Matthysse fight was entertaining, Alexander may have not deserved the decision but he fought his heart out.
he IS heavily to blame for not being entertaining. his style is ugly, there is never any sense of danger in the air when he's fighting, he throws arm punches, he clinches a heck of a lot, he's barely been in ONE memorable fight.
also, what about bradley? was he "coming to win"? alexander ruined that fight too.
he is one of the most tedious fighters out there. keeping it 100% real. at least when bhop and floyd are in stinkers, it's offset by their amazing skills and intelligence, thus there's something to enjoy/study.
devon alexander has one of the stinkiest styles ive seen in a long, long time.
honestly, this isn't about him having the right dancer partners. HE is one of the worst opponents out there for anyone. him and floyd would be horrific. i think floyd fans concentrating on the legitimacy of the fight and are really neglecting how appalling un-entertaing it would be.
Is Robert Guerrero an entertaining fighter and did the Floyd/Guerrero fight entertain you?
youre a good poster but this is a REALLY bad angle to be going down. you need to take a step back to see what youre arguing about.
firstly, the choice of robert was trash, i always thought so, and i said so. that fight was always always going to suck because he had no chance. doesn't matter how exciting a fighter is, when they're woefully out of their depth, its gonna show.
so did the fight suck? hell yes.
is a fight with alexander and floyd going to suck worse?
youd better believe it. I'm 100% serious. it would be even worse. not only would he be out of his depth but he wouldnt press the fight. he would make floyd look terrible too.
be careful what you wish for. be really careful. cos a floyd-devon fight would really really bomb.
there was a pretty big outrage here about asking cotto for 150.
lol i remember that. a certain garbage fanbase nearly exploded in indignation.
.....and now?
Ain't my fault your this gullible, the beat goes on man.
im gullible because the two trainers involved in this fight have said that the fight is being pushed for 147?
Aside from it being the biggest fight to be made for both of them, they really don't need each other.
floyd absolutely needs saul alvarez.
floyd got 5 fights to pad out. the ww division is a terrible, barren division - to the point where this literally isnt a credible foe left.
if floyd puts fans through another pac-like negotiation fiasco again, and doesnt fight such an obvious opponent, his credibility will be shot to ****. if you thought the guerrero fight underperformed, wait tll you see the numbers for his next fight - which, lest we forget, is only 4 months ago, which also takes away from the "big annual event" thing he has been doing for the last few years.
showtime really need to check the contract to see if there's a break clause in there. cos they're about to get ****ed.
Pacquiao never drained anyone, DLH was looking to cherry pick and failed miserably, having to lose the extra 2 pounds certainly did not help Miguel but that didn't drain him either.
i know what dlh was, i called it as a cherry pick by oscar in my post. you missed my point.
the whole draining opponents sh1t was something propagated by mayweather and his garbage fans.
now what?
when it looks like floyd has even worse demands?
will you all cry now?
U didn't say Sho or GBP. U said Floyd needs Canelo. He doesn't.
Also, people are being too dramatic about the deal. If Floyd does a mil then they are fine. They don't even have to make money on Floyd. It's more about changing the culture. Bringing Floyd in makes Showtime bigger than HBO.
Then they can start making money with Canelo, Broner, etc...
It's still more than worth it to get the big names on Showtime. The budget will then also become bigger. Floyd is there for nearly 3 years and most likely the others are too.
It's a process but by 3 years Showtime will have shifted the balance. That's what they care about
this deal is gonna bring showtime to its knees. this is not a sustainable model, especially as floyd is done in 5 fights. and in that time, things are not gonna shift from hbo to showtime. do you think the ghost fight made a dent in that regard in any way?
i dont blame floyd, he got an amazing deal.
but espinosa and golden boy are gonna ruin showtime. its painfully inevitable how this is going to play out.
oh well at least floyd rides off into the sunset with his $250m.
thread title sounds absurd initially.
but you gotta remember this.
can floyd really going through another fiasco like the pac one with alvarez? where fight the fans wants doesn't happen...AGAIN?
he wont get the benefit of doubt this time (well, apart from his garbage fans ofc)
Looks like, exactly. So it hasn't happened, we haven't heard a word out of Floyd's mouth. Your ranting about shit that hasn't even happened.
that shit is happening now, team mayweather is asking for 147. you think control freak floyd aint aware of it? they're asking for canelo to come down to 147 after years of crying about pac being the catchweight king.
oh and as for waiting for it to happen......it wont happen, becuase canelos team wont accept it. this fight aint happening.
That to me was Floyd's best performance since Marquez, a master piece. That's actually why I'm a fan of his, of course Floyd's style isn't for everyone but what he displayed is pretty much why I watch.
Yeah a masterpiece. Canelo vs josestito Lopez, PAC vs margarito, etc were masterpieces too.
I mean, it was Robert ****ing Guerrero man. The guy who went life and death with katsidis, aydin and berto.
You guys love floyd doing his thing cos you're not really interested in competitive fights, you're more interested in exhibitions of his skill. That's fine, that's your thing. But for the rest of us, it sucks.
**** man, I need to get me some gifs from PAC vs margs to put in my sig. Science dont get much sweeter
Floyd does not participate in the fight night weigh in so you have to take his word for what he weighed on fight night, or not.
not. hes proven himself a liar time and time again.
again, i would refer people to view his body from the baldo fight to the guerrero fight. you think there's a pound between those bodies?
