Canelo Doesn't Need Floyd: Floyd needs him!!!

The way i see it is Canelo doesn't need FLoyd as much as Floyd needs him. Yes, Floyd is still going to get paid$$$ regardless of who he fights. But Showtime is going to want to maximize ppv buys and so will the ppv providers. Floyd is running out of options of fights that can bring 1.5 mil and up. Ortiz rematch, khan, Garcia etc will all do close to a 1 mil buys but none will come close to making as much money as a canelo fight would. If im canelo, i have no pressure on me to agree to all of Floyd's demands like a catchweight. If im canelo and his management i would wait floyd out and let him fight other guys that dont bring the money canelo can. Nobody expects canelo to do 1 mil buys by himself on his own ppv. but him and floyd together and your looking at 1.5 and up, possibly 2 mil if the hype train really builds it. Nobbody is going to blame Canelo if he chooses not to fight floyd a a catchweight. If im canelo i sit back and fight the angulo, kirkland, cotto, etc. Eventually Floyd will run out of big money options to fight and be forced to "retire" or fight Canelo at 154.. The heat is already on Floyd to fight canelo. If Floiyd offers to fight at 154- fine, canelo accepts and the fight is on. If floyd tries to dictate terms in weight at 150 or 147, If im canelo i say shove it and go find 1.5 mil buys with Alexander lol Just my opinion and i love the business side of boxing. If im Canelo i dont accept anything that isnt at 154

Who is Canelo going to do 1 million ppv buys with? He doesnt have to.. NOBODY EXPECTS HIM TO, HE DOESNT HAVE THE 30 MIL PER FIGHT DEAL AND I THINK A CANELO VS COTTO WOULD COME CLOSE JUST BECAUSE OF FAN BASES AND IT BEING PR VS MEX. I CAN SEE 500,00O MEXICANS, 200,000 RICANS AND 150-200,000 CASUAL FANS BUYING IT. 6 fight 200 million dollar deal, 30+ mil a fight, just sold a million ppvs against guerrero who isn't a big name to casual fans... and he NEEDS Canelo? lol the nerve of some of you people. if floyd who simply is floyd is getting payed that much, just imagine what canelo is goin to be earnin in a couple of years. Canelo against Floyd on PPV is a mismatch. Even if Canelo has Cotto he'll be lucky to do 500,000 buys. Canelo is an unproven draw. His stans are delusional. Hopkins would probably outsell him on PPV. at 22 and doing a 500k ppv sales bad now adays? canelo has a whole country behind, and is only getting better.

I agree with you that floyd would beat canelo. The reason FLoyd manny never happened is because floyd didnt want that fight. He was down till manny waxed hatton and cotto spectacularly, after that he didnt want any. Arum didnt want to do business with Golden boy. Floyd is his own boss and isn't tied to a promoter. He could have let Top Rank handle the promotion and arum would have gladly caved to any demand that floyd had. But Floyd always insisted on using Golden boy productions so the fight was killed from the get-go Arum had oscar but still but him in with tito who was a don king fighter. Arum has a long history of mega fights he has promoted, Im sure he was not scared of manny losing, he just didnt want to do business with golden boy because they tried to steal manny during the hatton fight. Also tried to get serg martinez to back out of the chavez jr fight bc canelo was fighting the same night. Bob didnt like that and refuses to do business with them that's messed up, I honestly thought the fight would happen between two of them. let's hope Canelo and May fight in near future. I just want to watch pure boxing, just as anyone else who enjoys boxing. and thanks for the info!!

I quit following boxing for a long time and barely have time to watch fights already recorded. He did. It was called All Access and it sucked. Even did a huge documentry on floyd on cbs. It bombed for network tv ratings. Problem is everything has already been shown a thousand times about floyd. The 24/7 were great but its been played to death How many times can you watch floyd throw money around, Floyd Sr try and rhyme like Ali, and Uncle Roger saying "he cant do $h!t to my nephew" And they hired HBO reject Ross Greenburg for All Access instead of snatching Liev Schreiber. What's funny is they kept interviewing and pushing Schreiber for his SHO show, and asking for his boxing opinion.

If they dont fight its because floyd wont go to 154 and unify belts with Canelo Floyd is the money man and can make any fight he wants to at anytime, just like oscar before him, tyson before that, leonard before that and ali before that. When you are the biggest name in boxing you can make any fight you want. I would give floyd the benefit of the doubt but he does have a history of not making fights the people wanna see. Floyd has another 3-4 fights. Unless he wants to stay till age 40 and keep schooling everyone. Right now its a fight with Floyd that drives Canelo. Its the one thing he wants more than anything in boxing. Its his chance to make millions and become an even bigger star win or lose. Floyd on the other hand is getting his money regardless and he doesn't need Canelo to become a bigger star. Now I'm sure they both need each other to elevate their lives, but Floyd does not need Canelo more than Canelo needs Floyd.

U guys must be really retarded if u think showtime told Floyd, "here Floyd, we're going to pay u 30+mil per fight to face anyone you'd like regardless of how many ppvs u sell" Be realistic. Sure they seemed desperate but I'm sure they're not going to bankrupt the entire network on such a dumb deal. There's has to be some stipulations in there and they have to have some say so in regards to who he fights. Why do u think Espinosa is now pushing hard for a Floyd /canelo bout. Trust me, Floyd vs Guerrero did NOT do a mil+ buys. 3 different boxing scribes who are not affiliated with one another all stated that they're hearing the fight didn't even come close to a mil.
