pac had one fight at 135, jumped right to 147 (having been cherry picked by DLH), then came back to 140 for Hatton, then asked for a 145 catchweight for cotto.
floyd has been at ww for eight years, went up to 154 for money fights against past prime welterweights, and is now asking for a big ass, prime 154 pounder to come down to Welter.
a particular, garbage fanbase cried and cried about the 145 catchweight for cotto by pac's team. i thought it was stupid and unnecessary catchweight but nothing like the heinous crime a certain garbage fanbase called it.
then, when mayweather beat cotto, they said the flabby, slow 154 cotto was at a comfortable weight. floyd himself used that angle to promote the fight.
if anything, floyd's is even lamer. it would be like pac asking cotto to come down to 140. after having b1tched about fighting people at their comfortable weight, and not cheat like their rival does.
a certain garbage fanbase cried and cried about the 145 cotto catchweight (miguel has actually weighed 146 for his previous fight).
will they cry now?
or will they approach it as they always do, from a floyd-centric point of view?
Mayweather imposes impossible stipulations and conditions to prevent the fight from happening. Then people here can say Mayweather didn't duck him.
But we seen it too many times before and know better.
We already saw the pattern exactly when Floyd is terrified losing his beloved 0. Floyd admitted he is a cherry picker and will never take a fight if his opponent has a slight chance of beating him. Asking almost to impossible demands only to be changed later on from nearly to real impossible after his opponent blindly agreed to the nearly impossible demand. That is Floyd strategy to kill a dangerous fight.
I mean, you might be crying over something that hasn't even happened yet. That's called jumping the gun...Yeah trainers may be talking about it but Floyd has yet to speak on the topic.
If he came out and said "I only fight Alvarez at 147" Then I can understand and see your frustration. Though you're lashing out over people's opinions because of hearsay and corner talk. Let the fighter at least have in put before attacking an entire fanbase.
With that said, I think people underestimate how hard it actually can be to cut weight. You may think 2 pounds isn't a big difference but it can actually be a ***** when you're totally dehydrated and tired and you're still 3lbs away from the limit. Not that I'm expecting anyone here to be a boxer or nutritionist or anything that may have to deal with cutting weight but having some perspective of it can really be enlightening to a situation.
I see how this can be an issue for Alvarez as he's coming into fights weighing 170. As cool as it is for him to make 154, he's getting a little older and he won't be there for much longer. So I understand your frustration to an extent.
Bottom line is, the fight is all talk now. It's not even a week after Mayweather is done fighting and everyone is saying he's ducking Alvarez. Can't the guy get a break? I mean if you're gonna hate or cry, can't you wait til June or something?
So let me get this straight.
Manny gets CHOSEN by DLH and beats him.
The CW for the 3rd Marquez fight, how much sense did that really make. Sure Marquez moved from LW to WW, gaining 9 pounds at 144 CW, I don't see how it really effected either fighter. If it was at 147 would it of not been a bigger weight advantage for Pacquiao?
And 145 CW for Cotto.. I mean really, that **** was more like motivation. Cotto fighting now at 154 pounds is a joke! Just as much as Manny being a LMW ex-champ and Floyd being #1 at 154.
Now, I do agree on this one.. the regulations set for the Margarito fight were outrageous.
The whole "They fought the TR guy first at 145lbs" is BS. Mosley went to the Wild Card gym after the DLH fight and asked for the same deal they agreed with Oscar. Roach blatantly and candidly said no. When pressed why in interview, his words were: "because you're not Oscar". When further pressed what that meant, Roach said: "You're too good". Throw in whatever you want, but at that point, TR were taking no risks and chose their matches accordingly. I can understand why, just as I can understand why they have said no more 154, even if it meant not fighting a guy they already destroyed.
What I don't get why some pretend it didn't happen or try to explain it away. Mayweather will doing the same thing BUT- the difference is, Mayweather said he wouldn't do it. IF things go the way we hear (remember, nothing has even been agreed) then Mayweather will guilty of doing what he said he wouldn't, nothing more, unless people can be honest and apply whatever they say about him to other fighters, Manny included.
Yeah, it's not the same. When Pac rejected Mosley, he was moving up to his 7th division, world record. He wasn't a welter champ trying to drag the guy down, just had no idea if he could handle welter. So instead of Mosley at 142 he picked pretty formidable Cotto at 145. Certainly more fair weight wise. And remember Cotto would have been an overwhelming favorite just 12 months earlier.

I dont call Mayweather a ducker??? at junior middle he is so dont be weary on me
Let's see how it unfolds .... he shouldn't because Canelo still can be had due to his current issues but that is what is sad about Floyd if this is true. If true, Floyd wants to take away Canelo's sole advantage.
I keep it clean. You keep what fits your agenda :killyou:
I got it after your 2nd or third post.
In 2008, Manny fought at 130.
In 2009, Manny fought the guy that beat Mosley at 145. That guy, Cotto, is a TR guy. It was a title fight.
AGAIN, most people would not be calling Manny a ducker ESPECIALLY in 2009 after fighting Oscar, Hatton and then took on Cotto. Negotiations failed but Floyd was next!
Yet, YOU have the courage to call that Manny a ducker? Craziest thing man .... if that is a ducker then everyone in boxing must be ducking!
YOU FAILED BIG TIME!
Aside from some trolls, everybody would be ok with Mayweather fighting Canelo at a 150 catchweight.
Instead he is asking for the impossible to avoid the fight altogether.
I disagree. Canelo can't make 150 in good shape, he didn't even come close for Hatton. 152 maybe.

My point still stands they obviously thought he would be a tougher contest if he was allowed to weigh the division weight he fought at, they wouldn't ask for a CW if not. Common sense.......
He said he's never moving up to SWW, what's so complicated dude? Everybody has limits. for Pac it's 7 divisions, for Floyd 4, for Cotto 3, just barely
Remember Pac is a former 106 pro fighter. Drill that into your thick skull. Pac fighting at catchweight where his opponents enjoyed weight advantages regardless and his opponents moved down just 1 lb or 2 is so much better, a fair fight than 147 Floyd forcing a 130, 135, 140 fighters to move up to 147 and 154, 160 fighters to move down to 147 and fight at his comfortable weight.
Floyd either bloating or draining his opponents dangerously for their health and not giving them a leveling field is disgraceful. The first time he gave a leveling field (catchweight ) against a lightweight Marquez he cheated him immediately by coming 2 lbs overweight and didn't try to make weight at all. He seems he planned it all along. This is how low your self admitted cherry picker hero disturbing behavior just to preserve his lovely 0.

:lol1: Fighting for the title. The WBO title? At a catchweight? That alot think Cotto lost? That fight?
Packtards
Still trolling? At least you made a few decent comments initially but now it's all downhill baby!
FYI - I have criticized Manny when he picked on opponents that were not the best he could have made. You on the other-hand don't get it even when people present you with easy to understand facts. Maybe you are new to this .....
My Argument is Pacquiao didn't want to fight Cotto at his most comfortable weight, if they thought draining would make no difference why ask for a CW? Especially after already beating the crap out of the guy. Cotto had already gave into Pacquiaos demands once and said it affected, them asking for another CW obviously shows they believe it too.

Cotto had just asked to defend his 154 title at 150 vs Marg. Trust your eyes dude, Cotto is NOT drained at 150. It's right in the middle of his sweet spot, now that he's too lazy to make welter and way too small for SWW. 150 is not advantage Pac FFS, he's barely 150 fight night.
He came up with whatever excuse cause he didn't want the fight. Fine, nobody really did except Arum. He also blamed money, which'll tell you something considering how much less he'd get for Trout. He should have just said he wanted to fight in NYC and left it at that.,
