I don't think I have ever been in that situation, but theres some matchups I hope never materialize becuase I dont want to root against either fighter, particularly Shane Mosley vs Zab Judah.
Very controversial call, but i have to reason with the best referee of all time, richard steele. He had no idea that there was only 3 seconds. He assumed that there was about 20 seconds.
thats where alot of the blame lies. He was facing directly into the corner where the red light was flashing signaling there was less than 10 seconds left in the round. he failed to see it, a huge oversight.
thumbs down to richard steele
hey hey hey, lay off the dissing of rap music ;).
as far as the video, it was pretty cool. I liked the song, i never really checked anything from The Strokes before, but that shit was tight. the video was pretty decently put together, I just wish there were more fights/fighters used.
oh and for the intro, you should've used more clips of fighters coming to the ring, as opposed to just Judah and Floyd.
U dont think he won?
of course he thinks Augustus won, its just that its always scary when an Augustus fight goes to the cards because he's been fucked over by the judges so many times. This wouldn't have been the first time Augustus totally dominated an opponent and lost the decision had the cards been read the other way. I personally was the edge of my seat when they were reading the decision, thats how much bad luck Augustus has had during his career.
clean punching, effective aggressiveness , ring generalship, and defense are not scored on an equal plane. its a heavy emphasis on clean punching which Collazo clearly got the better of. Hatton got a gift decision. and theres no bias against euro fighters, Prince Naseem is my 2nd favorite fighter ever.
hey, maybe then cotto can end malignaggi's career like gatti did to gamache! that would be awesome!
as much as I dislike Malignaggi, that shit would not be cool at all. Brutal KO where the victim is OK after a manditory hospital vistim = cool. Brutal KO where the victim's life is severly altered = not cool
i dont know who his next opponent(s) is(are), but dude is active as hell. I know you're usually very active at the start of your career, but dude is only 19 and has already had 21 pro fights, has fought 7 times this year, and has 3 MORE fights scheduled this year!
Cuz those belts are damn gorgious!
actually, i think boxing belts are ugly as fuck, with the exception of the WBC belts (now THOSE are some nice looking belts).
the other 3 organizations should commission the people who do pro wrestling belts to make their belts.
yeah looks like he doenst need much energy to throw that chopping left hand..
on point. probably the best example of it is in his fight with Angel Manfredy. Fredy was landing blows and Chico looked like he barely threw the hook out there and manfredy PLUMETED. shit was beautiful
Utter bullshit about Castillo being smug and not trying. What do any of you know about him not trying to make weight? I sure as hell saw him half dead laying down on the floor as depleted as you can be. After all he's talked about it, now Corrales should get just as much blame and flak from the fans and press. Is he a coward now? All the Corrales bandwagin jumpers that said that Castillo was trying to get out of fighting Corrales a third time, so I guess that goes the same for your boy now against Casamayor in EXACTLY the same scenario.
I say again, this is so ironic it's beautiful.
i know for a fact that Castillo didn't even try to make weight for the 2nd fight, and he just wanted the KO victory.
No you don't.
i definately do. im friends with a boxing photographer for one of these internet sites, and he was there for the weigh in for Corrales/Castillo II. he was telling me how he spoke with Castillo's people after the weigh in, and to sum it up, castillo's people told him they didnt give a fuck about making weight they just wanted to KO corrales, they went upstairs and ate dinner, thats why he weighed in MORE when he tried again.
I train at Barry's, though I havent been in a couple months. i'll be back in either this week or next
if you're under 25 its $25 a month, above 25 its $50 a month. its cool, its not as hands on as i'd like, but its understandable, seeing as how at anytime theres between 20-50 (maybe more) there, between 3 trainers (pat Barry, augie sanchez, and teddy). a couple of the older vets there will work you and show you some things while training and what not.
i wish the gym was a bit bigger, it can get a bit cramped when alot of people show up, seeing as how theres 2 rings, 4 speed bag stations, acouple double end bags (which were broken off fromt he floor last i was there) some heavy bags and uppercut bags, along with a weight lifting area all in this small space. at times i have trouble finding a good spot to skip rope at when its packed
I dont see this happening. Judah is fighting Cosme Rivera on May 15th, and then he's gonna try to fight Gatti a little under a month later? it'd be suicide. remember last year when judah fought spinks then fought pineda a month later? dude was fatigued as hell. imagine if he pulled that shit again, it would be Judah/Tszyu all over again.
Prince Naseem Vs Marco Antonio Barrera
Me being the uneducated boxing fan at the time, i was like "how the fuck is this garbage ass dude whooping on Prince like that?" I just could not believe it
Zab Judah vs Kostya Tszyu
I have never, and still havent, see a reaction from a punch like that EVER. For that small moment, I honestly thought Judah was brain damaged or some shit. I was like NOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Shane Mosely vs Vernon Forrest
I thought Mosely was invincible before the first fight. Seeing him lose was hard to believe. And I remember being pissed as hell after the 2nd fight because I felt he had won that fight. Maybe if I saw it today i would think differently
I wouldn't doubt it. Harris pulled a similar stunt with Judah. He called Judah out on Hot 97 in New York. Judah showed up at the studio saying Harris hadn't fought anybody...and Harris was saying bs about how he beat Hurtado.
Judah laughed and replied "I beat that bitch in the gym!" Judah signed a contract to fight Harris but Harris never signed. Never even really tried to work out a deal.
I thought Vivian Harris and Judah were friends? I think in that interview he did (the one where the BITCH ASS COTTO!!! comment came from), he said "my man Zab Judah" and refered to him as his boy. They are both from Brooklyn.
