I've seen some prospects grow from the git go. They start kids of young and out of maybe 100 kids I am seeing 2 boys who are now 8 make the cut starting from 6 years old. They train harder than I've seen many athletes train. 4 miles a day, 5 round jump rope, 5 rounds shadow box, 5 rounds double end, 5 rounds mitts, 15 rounds heavy bag, to finish off with 600 sit ups and 600 push ups Monday through Friday and they only 8 years old. Imagine how much more superior they are going to be physically and athletically when the are 14?
you're going to either burn those young kids out or damage them with that much work. There is no way that a young boxer needs that much work to fight 1 minute or one and a half minute rounds. Simply rediculous.......... Rockin':pat:
Have you seen some of the kids now? These boys have around 7-10 fights to date and are doing awesome. One had lost only 1 fight and it was a robbery against someone from Floyds gym.. they have more energy than the adults. Burn out is a worry though but no signs of it , they been training like this for almost a year. When I said Mon trough Friday I did not mean they did this everyday. They have a day of sparing .
Well I really dont know Nelly's dimensions, but from pics he looks like he's the weight of a HW. Muscle weight, not fat. If that's true and he is 200lb+, then as I said, he toys with a 150lb boxer. Dont think the dude will just stand and box with floyd lol. He'd football charge him and when he has his hands on him, toss him around like a sack of potatoes.
Dont overestimate small boxers. They dont know how to grapple or defend takedowns, and they will be physically frail relative to HWs.
I see what your saying but straight stand up. No way. Plus your not every athletic 200lber is a grappling expert. If Floyd lays a hand on him its lights out. There is a video of a 150lb fighter on youtube that koed a texas a&m football player and reports of Gatti koing a 250lb bouncer. If you watch joes vs pros you see gatti vs much much bigger men and he was just toying with em and laying em down.
Yep, this is all very reasonable. Of course I agree that professional (or even amateur) fighters can surmount big weight differences. I dont think boxers will be best suited for this (over say, a jui-jitsu or muay thai guy), but it could also very easily happen at the same time if they catch them or if the big guy is simply non-athletic.
Anyway, we're getting a bit off-track here. Floyd has a small penis - 180lber Nelly was referring to this.
I agree, LOL... I do believe however that grappling is a much easier ability to pick up than boxing. It is so organic that fights end up this way rather than slipping or ducking punches which are counter instinctive. A natural reaction or reflex to a punch or kick coming at you is usually to overreact, flinch wildly or assume a fetal position. That is why you see thai fighters easily adapting to the mma game or dudes picking up jiu jitsu later on in life. Most boxers either start at a very young age or are born into it. I think it would be easier for stand up fighter to learn MMA than vice versa. Other wise you would see mma fighters going for the 20mil dollar paycheck. You just can't jump in the ring with Floyd regardless but someone as athletic as floyd should be able to learn how to grapple given a year or 2. He is making so much money boxing though he really don't need to. But I agree with what you said.
Most my family boxes so I might be a little biased too lol.
Lol. Nelly or any athletic person that size would toy with Floyd, dont be silly. Floyd is a very small man.
you joking right? Mos ignorant thing iv'e heard. I pretty much live in a boxing gym and I have seen athletic 200lb guys with some experience get dropped by 130lb dudes that have been boxing all their lives. I mean dropped, dazed, and bloodied too many times to know.
Edit: maybe not 200lbs more like 170lbers but they aren't novice boxers so your average athletic non boxing 200lber I am guessing would get schooled.
Mayweather hits Nelly with a 9 punch, bareknuckle combo before Nelly is able to flinch. This fight is over in a matter of seconds.
T.I. could probably KO Floyd doe
Anyone can get KOed. Thats why I don't let anyone get in my grill or within 5 feet of me before I am locked, loaded and ready. Sucker punches are a *****.
But the wrestling background is almost the equal to having an amature pedigre in boxing since it is a base skill set (grappling) for MMA.
so your point is moot.
Wrestling is much easier to learn than boxing. I am around both sports constantly. I have a niece who is a national free style wrestling champ who actually just competed in Fargo nationals recently and I am also around boxers of all levels everyday from kids to pros. I can tell you that wrestling is a much more organic sport as our first reaction is to go to the ground in a fight. It is easier to pick up and learn. Boxing is like gymnastics wherein the younger you begin the better your chances are than if you started later on. You got guys in mma who just picked up a ground game and they don't need years to get to a competitive level to add to their arsenal. Boxing is counter instinctive and your natural reaction to a punch coming at you is totally different from how a boxer would and a person should react. Most people would over react to a punch coming at them. Among other things for example, boxers are taught to slip punches and make opponents miss by hair so they can counter. This is a counter instinctive reaction that has to be ingrained. Keeping a stance, keeping hands up while throwing, throwing fluid combinations, pivots, throwing technical punches, etc, etc. This is why I say it is easier for a boxer to go into mma than vice versa. If you could beat floyd mayweather, pacquiiao, cotto, canelo for a bigger payday why not then, its only punching right. That'l be the day
Whats so hard to understand that they tried to cheat him by removing padding from the gloves , would you be obliging to people wishes that try that in a professional fight .
Floyd let Cotto use MX gloves its got nothing to do with the MX gloves and a awful lot to do with what they tried to do .
muwahahahahaha!!!! ass lickin retard right here. He tried to remove padding doe.
Fake wrestling, but real athletes doe.
Lets see him come and try to win the belt from Klit, I bet he can't do that. If MMA fighters can be successful in boxing why not? Floyd makes 30-40 mil more than they do. Thing is you can't just walk into the sport of boxing. There are some exceptions but for the most part boxers have been training since childhood. In MMA you can be in your mid 20's come from a wrestling background and compete at the highest levels. Not so much in boxing.
Floyd was such a warrior he never even tried to engage with an injured man. Don't get it twisted. Pacquiao wanted to fight despite the injury but the other guy was avoiding any action.
it's Friday and i STILL haven't received a reply from my buds about buying this fight
i'm getting a lot of 'hey if you get it, i'll pitch in' but no 'bring carne to the pad for the fight' texts
i'm having a real hard time suckering my friends for this one
Hahaha! Im trying to find a spot too...
C'mon dude, this was pre pac-Barrera 1. You know all of his die hards never saw this fight... waaaay before they became fans in 2007. ...this6 was Back when he fought on Floyd's undercard.
But it was Sanchez. I was at that fight. Low blows and the fight stopped due to headbutt cuts.
Who's the new fan?. I've been on this board since 2006. EDIT Just checked actually since 2004.
Well, it's kinda hard for Pacquiao to be the best fighter of this era when Morales and Marquez have both handed him his arse...
I guess that makes Calzaghe one of the best ever. Guys like sugar ray robinson, Henry armstrong, Ali can't be considered the best because they all got their ass handed to them at one point. Flogic is such beautiful thing.
Yea countries who don't normally watch boxing or have an adequate boxing program thought pac won
Not one credible media scorecard had #48 winning though
:usa: :usa:
Mexico doesn't watch boxing?
Man get over it, Manny lost, you stopped posting in 2015 and only posted 2 times in 2016..You are not a boxing fan nor a Manny fan. I don't understand why posters like you cant learn the sport and move on damn....It was 3 damn years ago and ya'll can't accept the man lost
I am not a fan. I'm actually involved in the sport
