My buddy has been in Vegas since Wed. and told me that the strip doesn't seem to have the same buzz during fight week (not much action at MGM). Can anyone over at Vegas confirm this?
The PPV numbers should still do good regardless especially the past week Floyd has been all over the news for his comments about his ex and the clippers, even though the live gate is one of the biggest that means nothing since Floyd tickets are always expensive, what people are saying is there is no buzz even though Floyd had his posters everywhere. We will see how the weigh in looks.
Did you watch the fight? The crowd was electric. 9k people + comp seats all watched one of the most satisfying beats downs in recent history.
Maidana now has 115k twitter followers, a 1.5m + viewed highlight vid, and part of the 3rd highest gate of all time.
He's bigger then he was vs Broner and this isn't Maidana vs Broner its Maidana vs MAYWEATHER. Better believe the people show up.
There was around 12k people last I remembered
And if the fight does over a mill buys, the paklas will claim they still lost money cause GBP are idiots too invest too much on a quality PPV for the fans lol..
These idiot fan base actually complain about a promotional company spending top dollars on a PPV card for the paying fan :dunce:
It all makes sense to them though.
That's what's throwing some people off. everyone keeps hearing about record breaking #'s but it seems like the atmosphere is dead.
It was the total opposite for the Canelo fight. Vegas had crazy energy two weeks prior to the fight. Vegas was buzzing those whole two weeks.
Broner and Maidana was not in vegas so I don't have a point of reference.
Whoever said that is a lie
the perceived buzz of this fight seems lower than normal for a Mayweather show. Myself, I haven't yet seen a single TV commercial for "The Moment" and I remember seeing a few for Pac Bradley II in the week leading up.
My guess would be that the event will do well at the arena but PPV #'s might not be the explosive numbers like the Canelo fight. They have to compete with NBA having 3 game 7's (two of which are on the west coast) and maybe NHL playoffs (dont follow but i know they are going on too).
broner maidana only had 8900 people in attendance in that huge arena. wtf are you talking about?

More proof that Canelo is the real cash cow. Floyds worst PPV numbers are when ginger is not involved..
How is Ginger doing headlining on his own, though?
.
We're expecting it. They'll say it was the Khan fans who flew in from the UK that peaked the numbers.
If Maidana performs better than expected it's because Floyd is slippin'.

All that matters to me. Numbers don't matter to me. Paklas however only care if it makes Pac look good or bad so when it comes to Floyd the Paklas hope his PPV flop like Pac's so Pac doesn't look that bad.
How are you gonna say that you don't care about #'s when you put pac's #'s down on the same post. lol you are one confused dude.
How are you gonna talk about flops when you have Rigo is in your avatar.
Dude is talented but can't get hype outside of his family members. lol

Paklas hoping it flops, but if it doesn't and sells well the Paklas will say that it was because of the undercard:lol1:

it's Friday and i STILL haven't received a reply from my buds about buying this fight
i'm getting a lot of 'hey if you get it, i'll pitch in' but no 'bring carne to the pad for the fight' texts
i'm having a real hard time suckering my friends for this one
Hahaha! Im trying to find a spot too...
The gate is the 3rd highest of all time. People will be there in droves, just like they were for Broner vs Maidana. The PPV #'s will be from 900k-1.2m.
People love this doom and gloom ****. People were literally saying the same **** against Canelo, CANELO. broner maidana only had 8900 people in attendance in that huge arena. wtf are you talking about?
Did people miss the crowd present for the fighters' arrivals?
This ain't De La Hoya or Canelo Co-headlining, but wait 'til the crowd warms up with a few Coronas and Buds. It'll be poppin' tomorrow.
