In present time I have to go with GGG. The way he stalks his foes, cuts the ring off and plants panic into his opposition is entertaining. That and the fact that I am constantly on the edge of my seat waiting for a brutal KO, and he delivers every time so far.
Pacquiao is the most entertaining fighter I have witnessed. His athleticism is unreal and when he was moving up his fights broke the excite-o-meter. A shell of his former self in the excitement department but leaps ahead of his past in terms of boxing skill.
I think Pacman is more exciting to watch. His energy level and how he jumps around is more entertaining. GGG is just a bloody murderous stalker. I actually feel bad whenever he lands a flush shot. It's almost painful to watch.
Gotta be GGG, the 'Ariza Shakes' Pac was deffo a treat to watch but GGG just brings this intimidation factor to a fight that Pac quite frankly just never had.
One guy almost always wins by knockout while the other hasn't had a KO win in 5 years.
Does that affect your excitement level?
more exciting fighter?
well this borders on being subjective..
do you like pizza or burger? with hot sauce or more cheese?
for one, who is to get excited? the fans, yes?
then does it follow that floyd who is considered by many the money and ppv king the most exciting fighter today? even he has less ko wins?
now, in line with the above, does ggg has more viewers ppvs than pac?
yes, a ko is a very definitive win but it does not really directly equate to an exciting fight....
there are so many factors that make up an exciting fight...i'll give a few..
history and/or intrigue between the fighters like erik vs mab; pac vs erik, pac vs jmm just to name a few...
the competitiveness and name recall or popularity of one or both fighters like in ali vs frazer, ali vs foreman, srl vs hagler etc., etc..
Manny has a more pleasing and exciting style to watch... With GGG, you can just feel him slowly inching his way closer to a KO finish, unperturbed by the power of his opponent, remaining dead calm...which is great in itself, but Manny has/had that explosive speed where he'd just overwhelm his opponent with speed, aggression and a barrage of punches from all angles... Manny is the better athlete with that killer instinct... Both are great though.
What a dumbass thread...oh wait its by ShoulderRoll . That explains it . :AYWOoD:
Thanks for participating in the thread none the less. And for voting in the poll. :fing02:
Pacquiao now or in his prime?
Now it's GGG no question, in his prime it was unbelievable to watch the pacman destroy his way through the lower divisions and IMO is easily the most exciting fighter of this era.
Pacquiao definitely. I think Pacquiao goes down as the most exciting fighter of our generation easy...perhaps of all time maybe.
Everything about Pacquiao & his fights is exciting: his style, hand speed, combination punching ability, foot work, heart etc. Considering he's a small guy, he's usually fighting bigger guys..which makes it even more interesting. He's never in a bad fight, even when he loses...you can still watch the Pac-Marquez4 fight on loop & not get bored...the exchanges, the knock downs by both guys & then the KO.
Pacquiao should collaborate with HBO/someone to get his career DVD set/Blu-ray disc set made once he retires. Not only will it sell like hot cakes..it would easily out sell any similar career DVD set of any other fighter.
When it comes to exciting fights...Manny doesn't disappoint.
stars are gonna wait til ggg is shot before fighting.
ppl are literally scared of him. if not opp boxers then their handler/promoter.
Stars like who? like manny, floyd, ward or cotto? those 4 doesn't need GGG in their's resume, GGG need them.
also GGG need to step-up, if he feel The MW is already clean take a risk go to 168.
Manny face Barerra, marquez and morales in just 18 months last decade.
This is no brainer, Manny is one the most exciting fighter who ever live. he produce many exciting fight with ATG opponent.
His fight with Barerra, morales, marquez, cotto produce memorable fights also ATG performance from both fighter.
See if GGG can put Some memorable match if he fighting the kind of opponent that manny face.
stars are gonna wait til ggg is shot before fighting.
ppl are literally scared of him. if not opp boxers then their handler/promoter.
newbs have no clue.
entertaining fights doesn't depend on ko's.
it's about action.
there are boring ko fights and entertaining dec fights.
learn the sport, boys.
True but see my post.....even with all the underwhelming fights Pac has fought since Clottey.....they're usually tough guys to stop.
Ok,,I get what your saying,, Bradley, jmm, rios, clottey, Shane, margarito, those are some of the toughest guys to stop and don't really have a legit stoppage loss between them
Hmmm debatable. Daniel Geale lost to Darren Barker and Anthony Mundine.....Anthony "I got KTFO by Sven Ottke" Mundine.
Both geales losses are debatable, he is a quality fighter
