Mayweather could win against Margarito but he would have to move the entire fight. Margarito could hurt him if he pinned him on the ropes. Kinda like what Margarito did to Pac in round 6.
Floyd wouldn't of fought Margarito nor Cotto in their prime ever.
Cotto would get beat, prime or no prime. Margarito had a better chance with his chin but would probably lose as well.
Do we need a thread every day about Cotto/GGG? We all know it's never going to happen and we all already know the outcome. It also has nothing to do based on who's the better fighter, the fight is a complete mismatch based on size. Even if they were the same size it's a horrible style matchup for Cotto, anyone saying he'd be Margarito'd though are complete idiots. Cotto wouldn't last 4 rounds, GGG's power is ATG status. Complete fight changing power and he has boxing chops to back that power up. Great fighter and Cotto should very much stay away as it's best for his career.
That being said, GGG should simply realize this and move up in weight already. He's not getting any big fights at 160 and there are PLENTY of big fights to be made at 168 with his name in the mix. Ward/Froch/Chavez, all three would be great fights... GGG I think has a bit of the Rigo syndrome, he wants the big money - It's not going to happen, but he wants to sit at the same weight and complain. He wants the money, well Chavez/Froch and Ward are all PPV fights that I would pay for. I'd rather make those happen than try to make a fight that's never going to happen.
