I understand he wants the shot at Mayweather but after Mayweather burned him last year I wouldnt hold my breath. Now he wants a pacquiao showdown who is on a different network. But why is Brook like the third or forth option. Doesnt he stand to make more money fighting Brook anyways?
Khan used to be a better, braver fighter who fought rated fighters every time out. He won fights over Judah, Paulie and Maidana. He was in a better position to ask for a Mayweather fight then than now. Someone who chooses Khan's fights seems to have lost their nerve. While they call out Floyd and Pacquiao he fights guys like Diaz and Molina and maybe Lopez next instead of guys like Thurman.
Part of that is that he's not on the up and coming anymore. He knows his place, as far as networks are concerned.
He's trying to be opportunistic. If there's anyone who can **** up his chances leading to a payday, it's him. Probably avoiding the risk of fucking it up
again
There is 2 ways fighters get paid , over the table and under the table , dont believe everything you read , Maidana got more that 1.5 a lot more .I am sure you are right but all I have to go by is what I read on boxing scene and I have no way of knowing about the under the table stuff. It makes sense that Maidana would end up with a lot more than 1.5 million on such a super fight.
Cause Floyd is a money fight. If he doesn't get Floyd in May I think he'll fight brook
That is NOT the reason he wants Floyd. Maidana made $3 in his last bout and Khan will be making way way more than that against Brook even as the challenger because the revenue it will bring in. Floyd and Pacquiao is more prestige than a pay check.

He wants to get paid millions to get beaten down, that won't happen against Brook.
To give you an idea of how big Khan-Brook is in U.K they are talking about Wembley for May and it would most definitely sell way more than 339 tickets unlike Bradley-Alexander. Khan will most certainly be making more than Maidana's $1.5 against Floyd the first time around, so either ways Khan gets paid millions.
I have to say that no matter how much I or any Khan tries to defend it, at this point it is indefensible, because Brook is a mega fight in U.K. who is now a title holder and is a big name ($) as well, so really no excuse why Khan isn't seeking him out, but I guess as people have pointed out Brook fight will always be there even after losing to Floyd/Pac.
he gets more money to fight brook than mayweather
it is because he has more to gain and less to lose vs mayweather should he win or lose
The Brook fight will always be there
its like a cash out fight, for both.
Brook and Khan will eventually fight, by 2016
He wants the safest route possible to Mayweather instead of earning it the HARD WAY out of fear that he gets knocked out AGAIN
He would rather cash himself out against Mayweather and a good payday instead of getting destroyed by someone like Thurman for less
Funny thing is, a win over Thurman probably would be enough to land him a shot against Mayweather.
Would be a total shame if Khan doesn't take that risk.
Everyone thinks a fight with Mayweather brings the challenger a huge payday but it doesn't unless the fighter is Cotto or Canelo. Maidana was only paid 1.5 million for the first Mayweather fight and Guerrero and Ortiz didn't get paid all that much either. Mayweather is the one who gets most of the money. Pacquiao's opponents get paid better than Mayweather's opponents. I think Khan would probably get about 4 million to fight Floyd and Khan would probably get 5 or 6 million to fight Brook. That is just a guess but Floyd's opponents don't make as much money as many people think they do.

Good question. I am sure his paycheck for fighting Brook would be much larger than his paycheck for fighting Mayweather would be. If he beat Brook his chances of getting a Mayweather fight would go up a lot. Brook has been trying like hell to get a fight with Khan for years and Khan consistently wants no part of Brook. It looks very much like he thinks he would lose a fight to Brook. Otherwise why doesn't he fight Brook and the sooner the better? He would surely make a huge amount of money fighting Brook and if he beats Brook it is his first big win in a few years and puts him at a much higher level than he is at now.

Mayweather is Khan biggest fight not so much in dollar terms but in the grand scheme of things a win over him trumps 1,000 wins over Brook.
Khan is Brook's biggest most significant fight there's no one else that would garner the notoriety that win would.
Funny when Bradley blatantly ducked Khan holding out to fight Pacquiaio most of you considered it a "smart business decision".
Khan holding out to try and get a pay day, and he gets sh*t for it.
Funny how the double standard and level of bias is conditional.SMDH!!!!!!!!!
Because Brook v Khan is in the bag so to speak and can happen at any time, in 6 months or a year or so down the line, there is bad feeling between them two and the fight wont need to be built up.
Floyd cant wait so much though. At least Brook has a nice win now, even if it was by holding all night. So Brook don't need to panic now, Khan will fit him in im sure of that.
