Oh... the Adonis Stevenson fight is on FNF.
I think ShoBox starts by the time FNF finishes, it's at 11. So no need for DVR! :D
Adonis Stevenson looks good. Noe Gonzalez is his best opponent so far, and a fight that could get him in the mix for a title shot potentially, or at the very least a fight with Anthony Dirrell, Andre Dirrell, etc.
Quick stoppage but not THAT bad. Stevenson hit him flush several times with Noe not returning fire at all.
Since Stevenson has fought only 3 rounds the past couple months, why not have him fight Anthony Dirrell in June/July??? Andre Ward will more than likely vacate the WBC title, Anthony Dirrell is the highest ranked contender by the WBC and Stevenson just won the silver belt for the WBC.
Stevenson-Dirrell, sounds like a good fight to me.
Hahahahahahaha and now they say "Floyd cherry picked a small Hatton".
This is the kind of double standard and back tracking I'm talking about in regards to Floyd's career.
corrupt reffing robbed Ricky, just as it did Amir in Washington...US boxing needs to come into the 21st century where objectivity and fairness prevails
they damn near handed Hopkins a win over Calzaghe too, but Joe butt-raped him in the end
You just compared Mayweather-Hatton to Khan-Peterson I, now I know you're a moron.
Hatton got TKO'd into the ring post, get the f**k over it, and grow up.
In terms of the best performance, given the opponent he faced at the time, I'd say Leoanrd over Hearns or Ali over Liston in 64'. I'd be hard pressed not to go with Ali over Liston. Ali was so graceful in 64' and quick, and he beat the world beater in Sonny Liston. Not many people know, but back when Liston was absolutely dominating the Heavyweight division in the early and mid 60's, some people were saying he might be the greatest heavyweight of all-time. Ali was a 7-1 underdog, and just dominated Liston in every way. Of course, I didn't see it live, but that may be the greatest performance considering who he was going up against. Either Ali-Liston or Leonard-Hearns.
In terms of the best performance whent he fighter stepped into the ring, not really taking who he was fighting into account, I'd go with either Ali-Williams in 65', Mayweather-Corrales in 01', or Mayweather-Gatti in 05'. Thise performances were so dominating, and I have a hard time imagining anyone beating those guys on those nights.
I don't care about Cotto being gay or bi or whatever....it's not my concern, but damn if you're a straight dude, why are you wearing yoga pants???
That was beyond ridiculous...
Carl Froch is on the decline big time. He got the job done today though, no doubt. Groves is a great 4-5 round fighter. That's about it.
Would like to see Froch vs Chavez
Ward makes easy work of Froch again. No need.
there are already alot of people who think maidana won
Clearly didn't get it....
Floyd won a close fight, 7-5 on most scorecards. People are so desperate to see him lose on here, some people say Maidana won, meaning they think Floyd lost.
If the roles were reversed, Maidana performed the same way Mayweather did, there'd be even more people, nearly everyone saying Maidana won.
Point is.....ANY close fight even if Floyd wins, people will say he lost.
Mayweather-Maidana II should happen next.
Khan can fight Thurman, Porter/Brook, or Guerrero though. Khan looked pretty solid tonight though. Collazo was game.
Even though I felt Maidana lost a close fight, as did many press scores it seems, he kind of won tonight.
He probably won a rematch and more money, and made Mayweather look the most beatable since Castillo.
Floyd couldn't make da fites doe. He was "retired" during the time of prime Margarito and Williams. :lol1:
Yeah because he was terrified of Paul Williams who dropped a decision to Quintana 2 months after the Hatton fight.
Body shots if you score the body shots for maidana it's a clear win for him.
No, it's not.
Floyd smothered up nearly all of Maidana's work the last 7 rounds. If you score clean punches landing to the body or head, Floyd won a really close fight.
Did Floyd look like a quick counter puncher to you? He wasn't. He was slow.
Once again I picked Floyd to pick chino apart. He struggled. Amazing isn't it? Floyd looked dreadfully slow.
Did you miss all the times he was tagging Chino the last 7 rounds of the fight???
Clearly you did.
You can ALWAYS tell when certain posters watched a certain fighter and favored anything they did in there.
The last 6-7 rounds, you'd be hard pressed to find many clean clear punches Maidana landed.
4 and 6 wernt dominant or clear rounds at all.
So you scored 4 and 6 for Maidana, but they absolutely are not dominant or clear rounds especially the 6th.
So one of those rounds going the other way is 8-4 Floyd. Yeah, ridiculous.
Man you seem to take things a little personal, at least tonight. I'm saying his speed and relfexes don't look too different from last year, you call that ridiculous.
I call an 8-4 card for Floyd pretty ridiculous, considering the vast majority had a draw or 7-5, and you flip. Lol.
We can agree to disagree, everyone does.
I can't really give Floyd anymore than 2 of the first 6.
Basically Maidana won the early rounds, they traded a bit in the middle though Floyd did the better work, and Floyd swept the late rounds.
Even Dirk Diggler UK saw who did the better work, though I admit with those first 6 rounds, Maidana made it close as f*ck.
But even Dirk can keep it real and he HATES.....HATES Mayweather.
The big difference is this......Maidana was 165 lbs in there, while Floyd 148. Pacquiao wouldn't have the huge benefit in weight, Maidana is clearly much stronger than Floyd. Pacquiao wouldn't be.
This fight needs to happen at some point. Both are still the best in the world with Ward.
Just saying :lol1:
I assumed on second watch you'd consider it less ridiculous especially the 6th Round being one that Floyd easily can have won.
Yeah I think I mixed up the 5th and 6th initially. I remembered there was one middle round that was clear Maidana and one that was close, that was probably Floyd. And then the 2nd was clearly Floyd. Then Floyd took 5 of the last 6 IMO.
All good man. You still one of my favorite posters man.
Robinson struggled with Jake Lamotta......a slow come forward fighter. Is Lamotta in his league??? Naw....
Styles make fights man. Maidana had success early, was figured out after 5-6 rounds though, because he was 17 lbs bigger than Floyd, and was a relentless pressure on him.
Pacquiao doesn't fight like that.
Naw.
Watch anytime Floyd was on the ropes after round 5. Floyd figured out how to counter him from there, and avoid most all of his punches there. And Floyd found his range with his right hands, and left hooks, he nearly him at will with those.
You have got to be one of the biggest douche bags on here man. Seriously. Do you like boxing, or hate one guy???
99% of your posts are about one guy you hate.
Not sure how anyone can give May the 12th, so that's a draw bby your score.
I had it 7-5 Maidana. Have no problem with a draw or 7-5 may though.
11th was closer than the 12th.
Floyd landed nearly every single punch that was clear the first half of the round. Maidana did better the middle part of the round, landed some decent shots, then Floyd sealed it with 2-3 hard right hands the last 30 seconds.
