Seriously, Mayweather has 1 inch on him and 4lbs. Pacquiao is all about staying in the lower weight divisions, then balooning up to almost Welterweight size before he has to fight somebody. He's completely content to avoid the Welterweight division (a division he could easily make) altogether.
I can't say I blame him either, I'd rather stay below Welterweight and fight a bunch of retiring legends and overhyped prospects until I retire too. It beats having to step in the ring with serious threats and risk the dreams of an entire Nation.
Here's Pacquiao's reaction if he ever finds out he must face Mayweather......
chea, right.. Mayweather had no problem facing Marquez with no kind of olympic drug testing, then Pacquiao steps up to face him next, the rules has to change? BULLSHIT! Mayweather's scared shitless already.
i would have to go with Manny on this fight. Ricky is like an upgraded version of Diaz, but Diaz got raped, I think Manny would rape the upgraded version also.
i believe floyd should take on pacquiao first to get his title back (which i think will be one of the greatest fights in history) then to obtain his legacy, fight cotto and then marg. cotto will put up a fight but i dont think he even hurt marg in their fight. with that said, i think marg's the biggest challenge floyds got. if he beats these top fighters, thats when i'll believe he could be down as one of the greatest legends. til then, pacquiao's THE BEST out there and he's just the start of the luring for floyds retirement.
You're wrong. He was faster vs. Diaz than in the JMM fight, even faster vs. DLH and equal terms for Hatton.
might seem like it coz thats when he started to show he developed a right hand. but i really dont think he got faster. he might have carried the same speed, but not faster.
I don't work off assumptions. I work off facts. Manny refused to do random blood testing up to 14 days before the fight. That's a fact. Manny turned down 40-50 million because of random steroid testing. That's a fact.
These facts lead me to one conclusion.
and your conclusion is assuming.. fact. if it was somebody else to step up to mayweather, random testing would have never been brought up.
The only one assuming here is you buddy.
alright so i assume it would have never been brought up. but your conclusion does lead to assumptions, not facts.
Gimme a fighter that's increased his speed and power while rising to his 7th weight division at 31 years old?
I'll wait all day if you need me to.
i dont know about increased speed but pacquiao have brought his power up to the weight he has always fought in, BUT im not talking about all that.. im talking about what mayweather's talking about; becoming an extraordinary fighter.
if youre talking about steroids (which most likely you are), steroids does not make a fighter better.
How about using your eyes? You gonna try telling me that Manny wasn't faster vs. Oscar and Hatton than he was over the rest of his career?
i really dont think so. if anything he was faster in the lower weights
Technique is learned through training. Steroids allow you to train longer, harder, faster.
You are one of those rudimentary fools that thinks steroids do nothing but increase bulk. That could not be further from the truth.
when he says extraordinary...he means a fighter that once showed FATIGUE and was hurt by guys like JMM who looked like a midget vs Floyd...a fighter that now just doesnt stop punching with power for 12 rounds while staying on his toes and takes Cotto punches like they were nothing. Hes not talking about tecnique, but about strenght, endurance, and recover ability....and all that stuff can be bettered while on PEDs
everything can be bettered on PEDs...because you use them more for training, not for the day of the fight. If you take some designer steroids and epo, you can train more, work harder, eat more and gain strenght. Also you dont fatigue so you can concentrate more on speed and technique, because your training day can last even 8 hours a day.
so you guys assuming he's on steroids?
hehehehe If SSM dont do it....
Pacquiao will knock him the fuk out:wave:
agreed... pac is invincible right now. straight left is gon buckle and knock his lights out. no doubt.
Pac is fighting Clottey the guy that couldn't even beat a bloodied Cotto. And didn't Cotto already beat Clottey? Why does no one expect for him to fight anyone like Paul Williams, Shane Mosley, or Berto? Oh I guess because Floyd is obviously better than Pac. That is why when betting was released for the proposed Mayweather/Pac fight, Floyd was a 3-1 betting favorite.
haterfree huh? you're a fcukin joke. the cotto/clottey fight could've gone to any of them, it was that close of a fight. paul williams is WAYY too tall, mosley and berto obviously are fighting this month. if they were available pacquiao would jumped on any of them over clottey. pac is NOT scared to fight anybody, floyd's a bitch and for the record.. when betting was released, pacquiao was favored. fcuk outa here.
This is a really good thread except for 1 thing,Mosley is without a doubt the welterweight to beat, period!!It sucks a little because Mosley-Pac,would be all action, but then again maybe it doesn't!!If & when Mosley beats Floyd, that fight can be made & it better be at 147!!
well yeah mosley is the welter to beat, but i honestly think floyd and manny beats him.
From Dan Rafael's Blog (ESPN)...
http://assets.espn.go.com/i/columnists/rafael_dan_m.jpg
"With regards to Floyd Mayweather Jr. finally signing a contract to fight Shane Mosley: Don't expect me to gush about it. I'll simply say it's about time he fought a legitimate top-level 147-pounder. After being a welterweight since 2005, it sure took him long enough. He's only doing what he should have been doing years ago."

agreed 100% he shouldn't have taken a break and retire to think there was no other opponent that was worthy and has dominated the sport already, is straight BULLSH*T.
on that note, im glad he's going up against an elite welterweight. about time floyd!
His workrate is sickening and he doesn't lack total boxing skills. He has enough to compliment his offensive style. Simply too many punches from too many angles to block and hide for 12 rds. Same reason Pacquiao will beat Floyd. He's the 2nd coming of Pacquiao who hasn't even retired yet.
nahhh i dont agree at all. he'll get outboxed cold and floyd would be too smart for him at any weight.
Crying?LMAO:dunce:
You act like Sammy Sosa didnt win any awards.
You act like Barry Bonds isnt recognized as one of the best ever..
There is only a certain group of people that recognize Pac as some sort of saint.
Get over it, he shits in a toilet and puts his pants on one leg at a time.:twak::spankme:
aright so i just looked back at this thread today and...
damn. wsup with all the hate? you just bring up bullshit after bullshit that has nothing to do with pacquiao. lol you're hella mad.
First off, I don't intend for this to be a hate thread. Pacquiao is an amazing fighter and an amazing athlete.
How come a lot of you Pacquiao fans keep hating on Mayweather?
Pacquiao and Mayweather aren't scheduled to fight anymore and they're each going their different ways. What's surprising is that Pacquiao fans are more concerned with Mayweather than Pacquiao himself.
What's up with that?
vice versa. this doesnt just happen for pacquiao fans but to floyd fans also. its stupid dumb and very childish.
If Mosley lands way more than Oscar,it's a wrap, true story!!:boxing:
way more and way more power shots.
hey, you guys could be right.. but hopefully he doesnt beat him too bad. it'd be the #1 excuse for flomos when pacquiao beats him.
