Will Mayweather return to cash in on Pac or will he earn his Respect?

i believe floyd should take on pacquiao first to get his title back (which i think will be one of the greatest fights in history) then to obtain his legacy, fight cotto and then marg. cotto will put up a fight but i dont think he even hurt marg in their fight. with that said, i think marg's the biggest challenge floyds got. if he beats these top fighters, thats when i'll believe he could be down as one of the greatest legends. til then, pacquiao's THE BEST out there and he's just the start of the luring for floyds retirement.

Yeah it is the biggest fight. But you have to remember as well that te Margarito Cotto winner will really pressure Floyd again. You know every will ask him will you chicken out again? yeah but the difference is that this time there is legimate opponents out there for every guy. No one would be upset at a Floyd-Pac match while the winner of the other fight has Williams & Clottey right there. You say that Cotto-Margarito will be pressuring Floyd but what do you think Williams will do to them? He'll be calling them a pussy for trying to fight a little Floyd when you have a real threat right here who will fight you any time any place. You know that no one will let Margarito get away with avoiding Williams after the Cotto fight because he has no one else

In my book he has to fight the big names then retire. I agree 100%. He has to go out there and fight the best competetion. Well actually he doesnt HAVE to but to earn the respect of a good majority of the fans he needs to go out and fight the highest level of competition available to him. In the last few years he hasnt done much (in my opinion) to earn that top p4p spot. Throughout his career he's been brilliant and is definately one of the best of his time but CURRENTLY he hasnt done a whole lot. I think the best competition out there currently for mayweather is (in no order): Pacquiao Cotto Margarito Those are the top fighters out there for him. Its not a rematch with hatton or de la hoya... mayweather is a great fight though.

Whoever wins the rematch will really pressure Floyd. I do think if he choose to fight Pac, then he'll be labeled as the Chicken Black Egg of Boxing. Are you serious dude? Were talking about one of the biggest fights in history and you think people would rip him for it? Maybe just the pure haters like yourself. The winner of that fight could easily fight Williams and thats a huge fight so why not worry about that?

I'd say fight Pac then retire Thats probably exactly what he will do. Can anyone really blame him, though? The guy has had the gloves on since he was a small child, hes proven a lot and made his money. Frankly I would be happy to just see him fight one more huge fight, and a fight against Pacquiao would be his biggest one to date.

I hope both unify.

Agree...this might sound F'd up but...Margarito/ Cotto are like kessler to B-Hop. Whoa, whoa, whoa......Kessler? Surely Margy and Miguel are better than Kessler. :lol1:

Margarito/ Cotto or Williams won't do much for his legacy in my opinion. Beating another ATG is enough to retire but if he faces Margarito or Cotto then I'm all for it. That's kinda how I fell on it too. Legacy wise, Margarito, Cotto, and Williams all offer nothing, now anyways. But I'm all for it if Floyd wants any of them to prove a point. Pacquiao adds to the legacy quite a bit.

I'd say fight Pac then retire Why not fight pac and the winner of Cotto vs Marg then retire , no one can question that.

He's going to come back and cash in on Pac/Hatton winner. Then he'll retire again.
