Ricky Hatton Versus Manny Pacquiao

This would be an intriguing fight because both men are amongst the top ten best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet. Also, as everyone knows, both men are very attack-minded and do not hold excessively and spoil fights a great deal. Their styles are conducive to an all action thriller. More prestige would of course be added to this fight if it took place at England's wonderful Wembley Stadium in front of 100 000 fans and this suggestion has been welcomed by the Pacquiao camp. I love Ricky Hatton for all the charity work that he does and because he has been a good ambassador for British boxing, but I have to admit that I could only see one winner if this fight took place. Manny Pacquiao makes big Joe Calzaghe look positively stationary and he is relentless beyond belief. I could not believe my eyes last night.

Seeing Hatton hugging Pacquiao is nothing to be ashamed of. It is only normal if a boxer is hurt. He will be ass-kicked just like he did in his previous P2P fight. Why is Hatton despised so much on this forum?

i would have to go with Manny on this fight. Ricky is like an upgraded version of Diaz, but Diaz got raped, I think Manny would rape the upgraded version also.

Unfortunately for Ricky, the Pacman will wear him out I'd say at about round 6 on. I believe the "Pac-Attack" fight plan of box-and-turn used against ODLH will be implemented to a higher degree in this fight. Poor Ricky may even get bad cuts in this fight. Nonetheless, it will be exciting to watch. JAT :wave::popcorn:

No he doesn't, Hatton rarley holds or grabs. It isn't the way he likes to fight, he likes an open fight where he can rip the f**k out of the other fighter, di you see the Paulie-Hatton fight? Before the fight Magicman was saying he hoped Hatton didn't hold or grab, the only one doin that was Paulie!!! Hatton holds/grabs/wrestles=A MYTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've seen Hatton hugged the Previous Pound for Pound King A LOT. Seeing Hatton hugging Pacquiao is nothing to be ashamed of. It is only normal if a boxer is hurt. I am afraid this is incorrect. We do have a large number of liberals, as well as proud people. Most of my friends are English liberals who constantly moan about how evil "we" are "cos we took over parts of Africa and Asia hundreds of years ago and put railways and roads through their lovely countryside" etc. Still, I agree with you about PPV numbers. The reason is the PPV $ from the States. PPV from the States? How would staging the event in a world-class arena in England (Wembley, for example) affect PPV? It would still be able to be shown on television. Tens of thousands of English people stay up until as late as 4.30am to watch Ricky Hatton on PPV when he is fighting in America, and Joe Calzaghe also.

Because America, Las Vegas in particular is the entertainment capital of the world. Filipinos and English people alike have proved that they have no problems taking the trip across the pond to support their fighters. So having it here is the most neutral place imaginable. Plus, if it was in the Philippines or England, there would be issues with the fight time here in the US that might put the PPV revenue in jeopardy.

Manny would swarm Ricky with combinations from all angles.. I can see Hattons face being a bloody mess.. A few years ago, I'd say Hatton, now, Manny.. Hopefully this fight isn't in the UK where they let Hatton do whatever he wants in the ring.. Hatton is a hugger.. The only fight where he wasnt clinching was the Malinaggi fight.. Other than that, hes a bully.. If Pacman can move laterally and shoot some combos and get in and out, itll be a good night for him..
