I agree, its almost as though people want to reward him for what he should of been doing along. The only thing that makes the Shane/Mayweather fight a biggy is because of Mayweather reluctance to fight top 147lbs, not that its a great match up. Mosley already lost to Cotto in 07 Losing a close decision to Cotto pre Margarito in Madison Square Garden shows How great Cotto was and Imo adds to Mosleys greatness. Dan Rafael is a good boxing writer that is wrong when it comes to Floyd.

Criticize him because he shoulda been fighting these guys before now, thats not his style though he likes to fight them after they have been beaten up, lost fights to others, or have gotten old. Giving him subliminal credit because he has in the past been reluctant does not do it for me. well dan rafael can zip it now since floyd is fighting a Tough Fighter.. Dan use to fight at flyweight, he's got a ton of credibility... The fact is..even being a Floyd fan and supporter he has a valid point..I wanted it to be floyd to give Cotto his first loss, Floyd should of boxed circles around margarito too..To floyd's credit he did try to fight Shane but shane had a tooth ache and wanted a vacation..

Exactly. The guy is an idiot just like Brian Kenny. I can remember clearly the criticism Mayweather got from Kenny for choosing to fight Judah over Baldimer. But after Mayweather beat Baldimer, Kenny blasted Baldimer as an unworthy opponent. Now this clown Rafael is doing the same thing. He implied as recently as a week ago that Mayweather was afraid of Mosley's challenge.That Mayweather had not signed the contract although two weeks had not even passed since Mosley signed lol. Now that Mayweather has signed the contract he continues his criticism? He's just another example of a journalist who shouldn't be taken seriously on topics that bring out his emotional bias. And that's the problem with many of these bloggers, writers etc.... A couple weeks ago everybody was coming down on Floyd because Mosley didn't have a dance partner and he was the one to beat Floyd - Now that all the signatures are in place, Mosley is old, the fight took too long, Mosley hasn't fought in a year etc...... And this is why Floyd's always stating the he cannot win - Damned if he do or don't.

There probably is an element to the idea that there was just no safe way out of the fight with berto cancelling and floyd free as a daisy now, but im glad floyd signed up to the fight and if he wins i will definitely give him credit for it, i hope too many people wont refer to old mosley too many times, the dog still has his bite
