Have to agree. And he tried to make fighters that provided him with a living feel like **** constantly. I was disgusted constantly with him talking down to fighters post fight, I laughed my ass off when bernard put him in his place.. I think roy or george forman told him off once too while broadcasting together
What did you think of Larry Merchant as a commentator?

Larry was so far up his own ass he couldn’t see daylight although his indulgent soliloquies and idiosyncrasies were, sometimes entertaining, other times tacky and inappropriate. I think he grew into an old drunk who just didn’t give a ****.Comment

I was just referring to the historical weight of that sentence in regard to post-fight interviews. It will be remembered for a long time.
Yes, Merchant was unprofessional. Someone like Jim Gray would have handled the situation much better (see Broner post-Pacquiao interview). But, honest, Floyd was also unprofessional in that circumstance. As right as he was, he could have just said "read the rules, and you'll see that I'm in the right", instead of "you don't know shìt about boxing... you ain't shìt".
For sure it would have been less funny, though... And, BTW, I wonder why he subjected himself to a public apologize to Merchant afterwards, if he was so sure about being treated unfairly.Last edited by Tatabanya; 02-10-2021, 02:11 AM.Comment

Jim Gray is another POS. Didn't James Toney knock the mic out of his hand, or was that Merchant too? Can't remember.I was just referring to the historical weight of that sentence in regard to post-fight interviews. It will be remembered for a long time.
