What are you talking about? Of course it is an exhibition. Neither fighter is fighting for a belt in their separate divisions.

As Garcia's father said though, it still is going to be a real fight so either fighter can get knocked out.

Back in the day exhibition fights(even by champions) used to be a lot more common between sanctioned championship fights.

I think boxing fans nowadays equate exhibition fights as those by youtube personalities, or Mayweather arranged glorified sparring matches in Japan.

20 to 30 years ago, exhibition fights meant real boxing fights even by champions fighting lower rated boxers or boxers from different weight divisions, without the fees and rules dictated by world sanctioning bodies. The champions don't have to risk their titles in such matches.

"We don't know exact details yet [on whether or not the fight will be an exhibition], but we're looking at a good 10-rounder but it's going to be a real fight, that I do know."

And he doubts Pacquiao's world title will be up for grabs no matter what happens."

If Manny is fighting, without his title being on the line, then he should NOT have a title! No offense to the future HOFer, he deserves to choose whomever he wants, however he does NOT deserve to to be the WBA "Super" Champion while he does it! WBA should strip him, and let Ugas fight TBD for the "Super" strap! The winner of Ortiz Jr. vs. Hooker would be my suggestion!
I don't think you guys understand the tradition of exhibition fights in boxing back in the day. Champions used to do it all the time between championship fights to avoid risking their title.

It allowed fighters to fight without having to pay sanctioning fees from world alphabet boxing sacntioning organizations, use catchweight limitations, set up their own agreed rules within the purview of state sanctioning bodies, or in the case of Muhammad Ali fighting a wrestler in a boxing ring.

This are still real fights that can involve knockouts. In fact exhibition fights back in the day can lead to an official sanctioned championship if the lower rated boxer fighting the champion ended up winning or having an extremely competitive fight with the champion.

If this fights go through and prove to be competitive for both fighters, we might even seen Pac fight in the future at a division below welterweight more often for example at junior welterweight which is the real division where he naturally belongs if many of the popular lightweights of today like for instance Teofilo Lopez will move up in weight.

Please don't give these idiots any more ideas. Lol.

This board is deranged. ALL of Haney, Teofimo, Loma, Tank, and Ryan would choose Manny over anyone else. Its not even a question

...If you go out there and obliterate the legend Manny - which becomes easier by the day at 43 - you pave your own path.

                  The hate is real here
You must have missed the part where they said it's an exhibition.

                    ————-

Here they come in droves. All the rabid Filipino fans who keep harping on about Floyd fighting Marquez at catchweight.

Every trash fight that Manny has had in the last 10 years is always defined as “great fight” or “difficult fight” for Manny. Of course when he gets beat, it was a “lucky punch” or “robbery” or “injured shoulder”.

If Floyd was to fight Garcia before Manny, would you say the same BS you are saying right now?

Thanks for engaging in conversation. We need more talks like this cos this is a big fight unlike a fight with mma or kickboxers
                      Ay where you at bruh?

You said Sean Gibbons told you it wasn't going to be an exhibition.

You said this is a big "fight".

You pushed the "NO longer exhibition" BS.

                      What happened bruh?
