Guess who beat up who in that fight and forced de la Hoya to retire, the Pacman and de la Hoya was only 35 y/o(still relatively young by boxing standards) at that time not ancient (42 y/o) as Manny is today.

Having said that Pacquaio is no de la Hoya. He is an all time great who has won championships in 8 division and in his last fight beat an undefeated welterweight champion(Thurman) who was 10 years younger than he was.

I think the fight will be competitive because of Ryan's youth, speed, height and reach but in the end he will be schooled by Manny's advantage in experience and power in the end.

Just like the de la Hoya-Pacquaio fight, I think a Pacquaio-Ryan fight will garner a lot of attention and ppv buys because of the huge fanbases each fighter brings with them and it will be a much needed boost for boxing as it will attract more than just boxing fans but the general public as well.

Considering how few marketable fights are out there in boxing that can attract the general public's attention nowadays, it is good that a fight as good as this that will attract the attention of fans from all age groups will be there to help bring the limelight back to the sport of boxing.
Read carefully. This is not going to be a real fight. It's going to be an exhibition!!

Jesus, this is worse than a McGregor fight. At least that’s just a waste of time for one boxer, what the hell is Garcia thinking of having an exhibition at his stage of his career.

Soon all titles will be secondary to the undisputed Instagram championship of the world, were the two fighters with the most followers fight for it in an exhibition match at wrestlemania.

I really don't understand what is happening, few days ago he was all confident..doing his silly dance and disrespecing gervonta in front of tyson now all of a sudden the fight he wanted so bad and every boxing fan too doesn't matter anymore?! How is an exhibition match more important? I mean he could of had the exhibition bout next year or later this year, a 42 or a 43 year old pacquiao wouldn't make a big difference.

It would definitely NOT be an exhibition. Why in the world would sanctioning bodies have to weigh-in or approve anything if it was an exhibition? This is a win-win for Garcia. He is already an emerging superstar in boxing, but a win on this kind of stage would cement him as a cross-over sports star. Pac is great, but he's old now, people. Garcia Duno's him.

If they're going to fight then fight. We don't want an exhibition.

This is why you will never be a fight promoter. You couldn't see opportunity if you ran face first into it.

This some BS, and why does he get a pass

Manny hasn’t fought since winning against Thurman so he needs to fight a ranked fighter or vacate title. These sanctioning bodies are a joke! Boxing is becoming like Big Time Wrestling, fake as hell.

Manny should be stripped of the title at 147. Garcia was doing all this talking and now runs off for a play fight. If he just wants to share the ring wuth his so called idol and get his name up there then just sign for tye Gervinta Davis fight and then have live broadcasted sparring sessions with Pacquiao while preparing for tge real fight

If it's a exhibition I don't see the point. If it's a real fight I like it. It's a bigger, better fight then Tank and it's more dangerous for Garcia. He'll be the underdog. Vs Tank he has huge length, reach advantage and bigger at 135. Vs Pacquiao he is the one going up to a new weight against a more experienced legend who's dropped and knocked out 147lbers

Tank fight has too many obstacles to happen next with rival promoters and networks. Pacquiao a free agent who can fight on DAZN and McGregor getting knocked out makes him available it makes sense business wise.

Manny saw how vulnerable he was to that left and decided he want a piece of that action. This will be quite the lesson for young Garcia. I partially admire it because he's going after that payday but if he loses spectacularly then he misses a couple of big paydays for a while. He'll need a rebound fight after taking several months off and the desire to see him fight Tank or Haney will be lost for a bit. Of course if he wins then he will really believe he's King. I'm not sure I would take that gamble right now.
