Yeah this has happened before, but Mayweather started the tend of shilling it hard to gullible casuals and selling it as a massive PPV that eclipses everything else. Hardly anybody gave a rat's ass about what a washed-up Toney was doing, Mayweather was basically (and probably still is in many people's eyes) the face of the sport. Now these clown fights get more media attention and buzz than legit contests. Mayweather's especially bad at this because he deliberately announces his latest circus fights in a way that the news overshadows whatever the highest-profile legit fight at the time is, because he just can't seem to stand being the centre of attention.

Boxers of this ERA need to do a better job marketing themselves! The fact that people would rather see Jake Paul, KSI and Logan Paul Box instead of current Professional Fighters shows a disconnect between Today's Boxers and the Casual Sports Fan

Stop blaming Mayweather for everything and demand more from your current fighters to Promote themselves better. Ryan Garcia is doing it and now he is probably going to land the Pacquiao fight over guys who are far more talented and more accomplished but doesn't have the Social Media Following/Presence of Ryan Garcia

Bro you're comparing apples to bull testicles,thats how different those freak fights back then were to Floyd fighting fully sanctioned 12 rd boxing matches on ppv vs guys that would legit be considered mediocre amateurs. The main thing I have a problem with is:these fights are boring af vs opponents who can barely throw a punch,yet ppl act as if its ok because its entertaining,well these fights are far less entertaining than watching Wilder vs Inoue

So in conclusion it's not Floyds fault,its the sport & fans fault for pretending these are exhibitions & pretending these fights are a good show

I’d easily take you to school on boxing history. If you actually knew your boxing history you’d have gone way further back than Dempsey. Bare knuckle fighters like Tom Molineaux were doing exhibitions way back in the early 19th century. I guarantee you won’t even know who Molineaux is.

As I told you in post one **tard it’s the mass monetisation which is the difference. Mayweather is exploiting millions out these fraudulent contests. Millions that won’t be re-invested back into the sport.
