This whole phenomenon is embarrassing and tacky. It turned out to be a slippery slope that we fell down when Mayweather v McGregor was made. I blame those two for starting off this trend (that was an exhibition in all but name, it was never a legit contest) but I blame everyone else who came after and piggybacked onto the gravy train just as much. Boxing's a sport ruled by greed like no other so once one clown fight makes money, all the rest want their piece of the pie.

Gaytactics, boxing needs a guy who goes outside AND LOWER than their div to find challenges. GranPac had it rough fighting nothing but WW killers.

I'm sure GranPac is still angling to fight Mr 0-1;0

As I just said it’s the mass monetisation which is the difference. Maybe you should work on your comprehension. Dempsey wasn’t earning multimillions.

Mayweather vs an 0-0 MMA fighter is the biggest fight in the last 5 years. What does that say about the credibility of boxing?

Imagine a week on Sunday, the biggest game in American Football was Tom Brady and the Bucs playing a team who’d never professionally played football before but had 10m followers on YouTube. It’s absolutely laughable.

That would never happen because the NFL has credibility. Boxing doesn’t, and the likes of Mayweather are continually damaging the sports credibility by fighting f***ing YouTubers whilst overshadowing the real fights in the process.
You're comparing boxing to football which is a further demonstration of your ******ity.

If Mayweather vs Mcgregor was the biggest fight in boxing within the last 5 years that only means Mayweather is the biggest star in boxing. Nothing more than that. But you can carry on with your ignorant analogies. If you believe boxing has no credibility then why do you watch it? Go watch a different sport if you believe boxing is so bad.

Dempsey was paid very well. Millions? Apparently you have no comprehension of something called inflation. You can't compare a boxing purse from the 20's, 30's, or 40's to what they are today.

            So comparing sports is ******.

It’s a completely relevant comparison whether you have the intelligence to comprehend it or not.

You remind me of that Michael Jackson sketch on South Park calling everyone ignorant.

Whether you can see it or not, Floyd was a major catalyst for these circus type fights being at the forefront of boxing.

The saddest thing is a lot of the old timers did exhibition stuff cause they actually needed the money. Floyd is just doing it cause he craves attention.

The only blame Gayweather should get is his "I need to keep my 0" mentality.

You have all these guys like Crawford, the Charlos, Spence, Plant, etc, that won't make good fights or take on challenges for fear of losing that 0.

That's more pathetic than making circus exhibition fights.

Comparing boxing and football is extremely ******. They are not the same. If you can't understand that then you really are dumb. No intelligent person would ever compare boxing and football. Football is a team sport. Boxing is an individual sport. The differences shouldn't have to be explained unless you're a moron which you clearly are.

That's hilarious that you believe Mayweather doesn't do it for money and only does it for attention. That's childishly ignorant LOL. It's equally funny that you believe you can tell a man you don't know how he should make his money.

There is no difference between Mayweather doing exhibitions and the "old timers" that you know nothing about. You're just too ****** to understand that

But it wasn't the first. James Toney fought Couture.

Why do they get punished for making the most money doing it?
