The best changes every few months, I don't see any stars fighting long term like boxing has. I've only seen a few UFC events but that's the impression that I have.

What UFC legends can be compared to boxing legends, I know it's a fairly new sports but can they create legends like boxing does? It seems like their shelf life is very very short compared to boxing.
There are plenty of main stay top fighters in the UFC and always has been.

Of course boxers cherry pick their way to a 30-0 record so we have to watch some guys fight for 10 years before they really have to fight.

    Stuff of legends.

Usman just got a base pay of 500k on a PPV that sold over 1m. Ryan garcia thought 250k was too low for a fight with no gate. There’s no incentive to fight the best consistently because they’re already making bank for easy fights. So dana white is fûcking the fighters over but it allows him to give the fans what they want. We can’t have it both ways.
So which do you prefer more? To get fights we want or to praise specific fighters for the glory of money that they get?

Every single fighter in the UFC, seems to be portrayed as a all-time great 'Notice how the UFC is also unable to criticize itself'. The people within the UFC do not self critiqued themselves negatively 'It is much more difficult in boxing to gain credit, or even been mentioned as a all-time great'.

Apparently Donald Cerrone was a all-time great? Notice how Joe Rogan was shocked when Stephen A Smith was just being real 'Nobody can state anything bad about the UFC, that is a sign of it being a complete dictatorship and not a democracy like boxing'.

Eventually it will destroy itself from the inside out 'It will want to become a democracy'.

Hes not, that was just marketing machine hyperbole. Rogan in particular is bad for that and its not even really his connection to the UFC that causes it imo, as hes criticized the UFC repeatedly, for instance saying WME-IMG overpaid for it. But Rogan is just prone to going OTT with hype some fighters. Ronda being the worst.

Gotta say about Cerrone, although hes not an ATG, and has had his fair share of losses, hes actually got more depth in terms of quality wins than most current top boxers. His level of competition is extremely strong, the guy got put in with Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethje, Conor and Anthony Pettis back to back since mid 2019, thats ****ing crazy.

There was nothing wrong with what Stephen A Smith said 'But the entire UFC fraternity acted all offended'.

The sport does not criticized itself, and cannot cope with outside criticism.

What do you mean by "the sport"? within the fanbase theres plenty of criticism (USADA, the Reebok deal etc).

I dont think most sports fanbases cope well with outside criticism tbh. And Stephen A Smith pisses everybody off anyway, regardless of what sport hes talking about.

Boxing fans are the most self critical sports fans in the world, next to soccer fans etc

UFC among themselves will self critique, but cannot cope with outside criticism 'The professional's also within the sport cannot self critique' That is because it is a dictatorship.

There was nothing wrong with what Stephen A Smith stated, but Joe Rogan and the UFC world could not handle 'Somebody being real'.

The UFC will destroy itself from the inside out, dictatorships are of the past.

Compare that to fans turning out for a UFC presser.. I mean, just totally different level of excitement. and not in boxings favour.
                    Not to me it doesn't

Big Boxing fights seem more 'real' and significant

For example when Fury and Wilder fought, it was in the back of many people minds that they're fighting for the title Muhammad Ali once held. Did you get the same feeling when Stipe and Cormier fought just recently?

I feel like UFC is not taken completely seriously by a lot of people compared to boxing. Partly not their fault because it's a young sport and doesn't have history like boxing does but still.

I mean for example when I sometime read sherdog, these dudes claim MMA has a few GOATs. They say 'Joe Jones is one of the GOATs'. Lol how can I take people who claim to know anything about fighting seriously when they something like this?

Idk from my online and real life interactions with them, MMA fans come off as dorks to me.

                      Says it all.
I've felt that way for a year or 2 now, its upsetting because I just want to see the fights we should be getting. Too much waiting, marinating makes no sense for the fans perspective we dont need it.
