This is going to be the first in a long list of wakeup calls for Boxers in a post-Corona economy. Expect this fight not to happen, Teofimo Lopez is too naive to realize he isn't going to make lottery numbers whilst the world world goes into poverty.

Then they should stop being promoters. The times when promoters ripped off the boxers is over. Promoters should reduce their cut.Comment

That's true. Don't quote me on this about the number of fights in, but I think it was 32 or 34 fights before Floyd landed his first Pay-Per-View bout, which was against Gatti. He was paid 1.5 million for that fight.
Maybe that puts some perspective on Teofimo's fight.Comment

I notice you didn't answer what you'd do if you were Lopez. Tells me you wouldn't accept this deal either. Can you at least admit it.it was reported that lomachenko is making 3.25 million which is less then his contractual guarantee.
So lomachenko is taking less for this fight.
So you have zero argument. The fact is Teo is making what, 4 times his biggest purse in these Covid times which is a good offer but not what he wants.
Combine that with how easy he thinks this fighy will be and that every other week he claims it's hard to make 135.
Why not take this fight? He said he was ready and waiting. That he would fight with or without fans. That means he understood he would make less and he's not deserving of more.
He has a shot at glory and its not for pennies. You think he draws. Show the proof. Provide some numbers. Im telling you he's not a bigger draw than lomachenko. He is not the A side. 3:1 is plenty fair.
What he thinks about the fight has no bearing on what the purse split is. That is just asinine for you to post. Loma is getting what amounts to a 75/25 split. There is no way that is fair and you know it.
Loma appears to be taking less but is it half of what he was initially guaranteed? If it is half then yes, Lopez should also be willing to take half. That said, a 75/25 split is extremely unfair.
I didn't claim he was the A side so why are you asking me to prove something I didn't state in my post? I posted Loma should get more.
Now be honest about what you'd do if you were Lopez in this situation.
He isn't taking the fight because his offer is below what he should make.Comment

Respect your point but I just don't think this is fair. I am trying to stay out of those ridiculous Canelo debates.
You know when all these dudes arguing with me will see the point and change their tune-MARK MY WORDS-when Tank, who is the far bigger draw than Loma, does this to Loma should they fight. When Loma gets the shaft like this and doesn't take the fight because of unfair finances, all these dudes will then call Tank the duck because he didn't give Loma enough. We already know how this goes.
No issue on my end with Loma getting more here. I just understand why Lopez is upset.Comment
