Is the poster "BKM-" right about a 17yo HS wrestler being able to beat prime M Tyson?

You dont get it, its not viable because the wrestler is going to be putting you in positions where you will rarely if ever be able to do those things, whereas he would be able to do them at will because his skills allow him to control the fight. Thats the whole point of wrestling/grappling - control. The ground game is finely tuned to take away your leverage, space and ability to move. If someones on you like a boa constrictor pinning your arms/head/chest the only way you're getting out of it is if you actually know the technical ways to escape. You're not going to beat Khabib in a fight to the death by trying to bite upwards at him from your back like a pinned down angry chihuahua or trying to tickle him for ****s sake lol. Even if you did find a way to bite or snap someones fingers the most likely result is they go "owwww" and then turn into a raging demon. Its usually a pain/maiming thing rather than an immediate fight ender, especially when adrenaline is involved. From off your back the same probably applies to eye gouging as well because you wont get the leverage to make it really nasty. They on the other hand could straight up dig their thumbs into both your eyes and push all their weight forward into it, which would completely blind you in seconds.

Pure wrestling ie the college and olympic stuff is equally one dimensional to boxing. Although I would say in a rock, paper, scissors situation pure wrestling is generally going to beat pure boxing.

MMA context wrestling (which is obviously heavily mixed with BJJ) is a different story though.

A ''competent'' wrestler vs a PRIME Mike....the wrestler will use wrestling techniques while Mike uses boxing techniques. Mike kills him (is flying kicks part of wrestling ?). I figure they have to wear some kind of gloves on their hands to facilitate boxing (or will this be BKF ?). Either way, Mike's hand speed, thick build, power and accuracy would pretty much overwhelm the youngster.

I'm not a Mike fan but all of my money is on him.

Perhaps he would beat Mike in a straight up wrestling only match.

Ok, tough guy. We're talking about prime Mike Tyson vs a 17 year old hs wrestler, not you and your fantasies of being a 17 year old killer.

A heavy weight 17 year old vs Mike in wrestling? Absolutely.

No, don't be ridiculous, a young kid does not beat a prime Tyson in the streets.

As for the boxer vs wrestler match-up, it all depends on who gets there first. Does the boxer land the first punch or does the wrestler get the takedown?

You can also neutralise wrestling by being stronger, faster and fitter than the wrestler.

Learning wrestling does not turn a man into superman.

Hahaha! If you run for your rifle in a fist fight you're going to prison.

Hiding behind bullets didn't prepare you for a fight. I've seen countless ex-mil in the gyms I help out in. The military does you more harm than good for fighting. I'm sure you're Blue Ribbon hamburger, but when staying alive, you gotta depend on you.

So how many guys you know like that. You think biting a dude will make him let up.

I can't tell you how many ******s tried that ****. Instead of just holding them down and waiting for them to chill out, I got mad.

Tyson would get ****ed up by a co.petend wrestler. Biting wouldn't save him.

I really can't tell a great Boxer from a shyte one when they try out MMA. They all suck.
You're anecdotal experiences with people I've never met don't mean anything to me, and the only one bringing up firearms is you. I've actually been in a fight for my life on the ground before
That's far more than most people can say in a lifetime and that's a good thing. You can dismiss a persons ability to remain calm and execute in real life and death situations as irrelevant in combat sports but I disagree and I do so from experience.

Regardless, your assumptions of how helpless a boxer is in an environment outside of a ring is hilariously off base.

Also, the fact that you can't tell a good boxer from a bad one tells us you DKSAB. I can tell good boxing from poor boxing in any environment.

Yup. You've never been in a fight with a Wrestler.

Mike had 150 street fights prior to becoming a boxer

I’ll take his experience in the streets and everything else over a good high school wrestler who been doing it for a couple years lol

Absolutely. Horrible, unpredictable things can happen in street fights. Eyes get gouged out, ears and noses get chewed off, knives get pulled. Rolling around on the floor trying to use wrestling holds on some psycho is the last thing you should be trying to do in a street fight.
