Is the poster "BKM-" right about a 17yo HS wrestler being able to beat prime M Tyson?

Hahaha! If you run for your rifle in a fist fight you're going to prison.

Hiding behind bullets didn't prepare you for a fight. I've seen countless ex-mil in the gyms I help out in. The military does you more harm than good for fighting. I'm sure you're Blue Ribbon hamburger, but when staying alive, you gotta depend on you.

You can also neutralise wrestling by being stronger, faster and fitter than the wrestler.

So how many guys you know like that. You think biting a dude will make him let up.

I can't tell you how many ******s tried that ****. Instead of just holding them down and waiting for them to chill out, I got mad.

Tyson would get ****ed up by a co.petend wrestler. Biting wouldn't save him.

I really can't tell a great Boxer from a shyte one when they try out MMA. They all suck.

My dad hated Boxing. He put me and my brothers on wrestling, though.

He was in the Navy during Vietnam, and a Philly Cop. My mom's dad was a sparring partner for Tommy Loughran and related to Gunboat Smyth. He loved Boxing. Dad would always tell us Boxing was for thugs. He'd say how everytime they pulled in a guy his job was "Boxer". My grand father would just curse Black people. But it stuck with me that all the Cops had Wrestled growing up and hauled in grown men who were Boxers.

Actually having done both, Wrestling is great for fighting, Boxing is only great if the other guy is a bad fighter

My senior year in high school i was a stud wrestler. I placed at state and i could take anyone down at will that didn't have any wrestling experience. That was around my weight and age.

With that being said there's no way i could beat a world chamionship boxer in a street fight unless i was one of the best wrestlers in the nation and i had muscle maturity and grown man strength. World Champion boxers have fully developed strength and high school kids don't.

Think about it. An olympic gold medalist in boxing can't even beat a veteran boxer right off the bat without experience in the pro ranks first. An olympic wrestler would dominate the nation's best high school wrestlers. The strength difference is immense. So a high school wrestler trying to take down a prime world Championship boxer would be equivalent to a kid holding on to his dad's legs as he's leaving for work crying because he wants him to stay.

This is equivalent to the ronda rousey could beat mayweather in a street fight arguement. It's not happening because the strength difference is immense. And just using will and power to stiffen up even though they don't know any sprawling techniques, will prevent a take down. Then one punch and ronda rousey and the high school kids are out cold.

A squared off street fight is not the same as fighting for your life. Especially with people watching which there always is. You get booed to hell for trying to take fights to the ground outside a bar. If u think u can bite, scratch, pull hair, eye gouge or kick a guy in the nuts and think everyone will look at you like a hero... It happens more often in big brawls of course, but that’s because not all the focus is on you and things get crazy. Bottles, knives, guns even. But when it’s just two people with all eyes on, trying to tackle someone is proving you want no part of a stand up fight. A stand up fight is what everyone wants to see, it’s what everyone respects the most. Even in pro mma it’s what sells. With no cage and no circle it’s not as easy to just tackle a guy either. Plus if u were in shorts or shirtless missing a dive on pavement can’t feel good. And if u drop someone on their head it’s the ground that’s doing the damage. That’s why wrestling is done on a padded mat to put it in perspective. Yeah I know a lot of people wrestle and they think they are the baddest men on the planet. It’s competitive and worldwide so being great at it is a high achievement. But I think sum people need to stop thinking rolling on the ground has any real precedent or admiration in what society calls “street fights”. It’s not wanted. I mean even ur gf knows why u had to take it to the ground.

Boxers are off balance and respond all wrong.

I struggled much more with the power lifter type. These kids today 182 and above are beasts.

I would suggest trying out a MMA gym. Boxers regularly show up. You'd be surprised how weak they are physically and mentally.

I wouldn't have tried Tyson when I was 17. But a Mayweather or Hagler? No fu.cking problem.

C’mon Rusty. I knew once u posted that u were a wrestler u would say something. We’ve argued plenty but I also like a lot of ur stuff. The odds of someone never bring in a fight is close to impossible so why even say that? Just want to argue? I bounced when I was young at a very busy club like at lot of people on here have. Been jumped, outnumbered, suckered. You know what the highest escalation of street violence is right? Not just pulled either but used at you. It’s the opposite of something to brag about. That’s as real as it gets. I’ve seen more heaters than double leg takedowns. Even if u are a wrestler and u take sum guy down, the opponent probably has never ever even wrestled. So how much of a pat on the back do u want? Yeah clever play the odds. U still have to punch the guy while u are on top of them and that’s what they are cheering. Your sitting on a guy who has never been in that position before. He can’t fight back. How much credit do u want to give yourself? U still weren’t willing to stand toe to toe with the guy. Beat up another wrestler then if u want sum real credit. I mean does anyone care that couture toe tackled James Toney? Your favourite fight? U have never though of it since.

                  A lot.

9me time everyone was laughing. I was putting the guys finger in the guys nose and then making him eat it.

People suddenly stopped laughing. Someone was standing over me. My brothers would never let that happen. My worst fears were justified when I looked up.

The cop said. " can't say i've seen that one before ". He was laughing thoug.

                  Then he got serious

"Lucky for you i'm not a fast runner. "

I got the hint. I booked it.

Another time I got a guy to promise me he'd let me bone his sister. I still use that one in sparring. But i really did know this guy! Like knew who he was and he had a hot sister.
                  Guess what!?

I eventually asked her out and boned her! I just couldn't pull it off that he got to see me with her. We didn't have a serious relationship or anything. But how awesome would that have been ?

By the way. Now that i'm in my 40s and have four kids, I hate fighting. But I wanna scare the dummies here straight. They might think they're invincible, they're not. Now kids know how to choke people out and break bones. It's serious.

World champions don't show up to your mma gym. Of course i wouldn't argue against a stud high school wrestler easily taking down a random Joe schmo boxer. But to say they'd do the same to a prime top 10 boxer is ridiculous.

Rusty, I’ve just hit my 40s too. I’m still in shape, 5’10” 215lbs lean, don’t look much different. But yeah I can’t do the things like when I was 20. The recovery time from anything takes much longer and on cold days I feel the old injuries. I thought that was just a wives tale. I agree with you, that fighting is so much more uglier to me now. Most of the time winning a fight can be worse than losing one. People charge you, witnesses are unreliable. It costs you money. Broken bones like u said. If someone gets hurt, someone has to pay. Still I don’t think u are and hopefully a lot of people on here are one of those people that would sit still and film sum guy beating down an old lady on the subway. I know a 55yr old off duty cop just got beat to death by a man 30yrs younger when he tried to intervene in a dispute. Lots of ways things can go wrong for the third guy in. My brother is bigger, stronger, taller, and more of handful when provoked. He’s very protective. Hard on me. Doesnt like to give me too much credit, and fair enough. He told me he was walking downtown and a cop car swung right onto the sidewalk blocking his path. The cops got out, and one of them said “I saw your brother knock a guy the ***** out”, and then they left. That’s all I mean about the credit for standing. Everyone can have an opinion for sure. But yeah plenty of people that have been kod have been killed or severely injured from hitting their head on the ground. But I’d never choke hold anyone because the risk is too great for everyone. But yeah I’ve seen it used a lot too, but mostly in removing someone and not street fights. I feel for bouncers today, they are really painted into a corner now. “Clip” videos are edited to show only the parts to manipulate the narrative. Theres good and bad just like with everyone. Also I’ll always be happy that u or anyone else got to score, as long as it was consensual cause I feel like u need to say that now! Or we all get cancelled.
