Hopkins can figure most guys out, but if they're just flat out a lot quicker than you being able to anticipate what they're gonna do next doesn't always let you stop em. And also being a bit rawer and less orthodox - one of those natural talents who doesn't do stuff quite by the book - actually makes it harder for a thinking dude like Hopkins to anticipate or corral your range of options. Same story with Dawson and Calzaghe same reason I think a young Dre Dirrell would been bad for Hopkins if Dre could resist BHops getting into his psyche in the run up.

GGG. His biggest scalps, Canelo, Jacobs, and Derevyanchenko would beat any MW that Hopkins beat. Joppy? Holmes? Too-small Trinidad? They both had their share of weak offerings (Vanes, Monroe, Squirrel, JDJ) but I believe GGG's top wins (or bogus draw) is better than Hopkins.

Dude being an ATG does not mean you are invincible. There have only been a couple of ATG fighters that retired undefeated. Golovkin has the tools to beat Hopkins. I'm not saying its a lock. I'm saying its a competitive fight that Golovkin can win.
