golovkin fans bring up hopkins because of the defense record....plain and simple...and they somehow think that golovkin should be held in the same breath as hopkins because of it....which is usually the point they are trying to make or raise...i explained why that is nonsense

Tito was an undefeated middleweight champion when Hopkins fought him. Choosing not to count him as a real middleweight is ret@rded.

The thread is about the Middleweight division and the quality of the opponents. It's a fair question.

GGG got a gift over Derevyanchenko, he barely won against Jacobs but the knockdown 10-8 round really helped.

The rest is basically Sergio left overs.

He has a slight advantage over Hopkins but I wouldnt be bragging about it. Also dont see OP's point of excluding a 160lb Trinidad. A 160lb trinidad breezes through 90% of GGG's resume and only has a fight with the what the top 5 at most of GGGs 42 fights.

Tito moving up was better then Jacob's. Jacob always falls apart in his biggest fights. Although I don't actually count that Jacob's win for golovkin as a straight win. Jacob's could have easily been awarded the nod so U are telling me about a Jacob's win that very well could have been a loss for golovkin, But yet u want to tell me about golovkin wins vs Hopkins at middleweight? Golovkin lost to a 154 pounder that had no real experince fighting at 160....do u really think canelo moving up to middleweight to fight Hopkins wouldn't get seriously hurt? U can't talk to me about middleweight Hopkins vs golovkin when golovkin lost to somone moving up to his natrual weight. It's a joke......

I love the fighting leftovers argument. Almost everyone at some point is someone else's leftover, unless you fight guys who haven't fought at the top stage, to which you will cry that so and so is undefeated because they haven't fought anybody.

LMAO! He’d had 1 fight at Middleweight and only 4 fights above 147 and his one fight at 160 was against Joppy.

                He was a WELTERWEIGHT!

Did your parents not buy you presents at Christmas? Cause you clearly don’t know what a ‘gift’ is.

When did Sergio beat Jacobs, Lemieux, Geale and Rubio? I must have missed those fights.
